I wanted to use this for several weeks to see if the performance is consistent. I bought this particular antenna because it was the mid-range option of the available choices and had 40 mile range vs. 25-30 miles on the cheaper options. I live a little farther out from the city center. I was excited to see that I get 23 digital channels during programming when I first set this up. Some of those channels broadcast old shows or are infomercial channels. The important thing is I get all the major broadcast TV channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, FOX and CW. All the channels except FOX and CW work without raising the antenna "ears". I just leave them up for convenience. Most channels come in clear. However the last couple of weeks have been very windy, sometimes stormy and there is a small interruption in signal strength on some channels. Annoying, but mostly still watchable. I usually just watch local news and awards shows live and watch other shows at a convenient time through my streaming media player. Overall works well for my purposes. I just wish it didn't take so much space and stick out so much.

Solid Antenna (if you live near a broadcast tower)

As far as rabbit ears go this is a solid HDTV antenna. You need some space to extend the antennae to maximize reception. Thus far we've been able to pull in most of the major local channels. As we live on the fringe of a major city, we noticed that we aren't able to pull in CBS. Apparently the range of that network affiliate's broadcast tower is limited by the current bandwidth they use (VHF). We live 50 miles from that tower. This leads us to believe that this little guy won't do folks much good if they live further away from a broadcast antenna. Also, we noticed that reception is much better in front of a window facing south towards the city then behind a wall.

    An Improvement

Because we, periodically, have a second flat panel TV in the house, and it's not easy to connect to my roof antenna, I thought I'd try this out to see if I could improve reception. It's better than not having an antenna, but digital TV signals are much fussier to receive than the old analog signals used to be, plus many of the local stations, with some exceptions, have moved the to UHF band. The reception has improved, but the antenna is fussy regarding placement. They do suggest placing it near a window, but that's not an option for us. That might make some difference, but I don't really know how much. The bottom line is the best reception for over-the-air signals will still be an outside antenna, preferably with a rotator. For the cost though, this does yield some improvement, and that's not all bad.

I get a few dozen channels with this, including all of the major stations. It was very easy to set up (just plug it in). I like getting the major networks and not having to pay for it every month. Originally I had the antenna 6 feet off the ground, but found it actually did better about 2 1/2 feet off the ground. Don't think you need to have it up high or anything for it to work.

I recently dropped TWC and went to Ditectv. On my 5Th TV which is used once or twice per year, I decided to not pay Directv $6.50 per month so I bought the RCA antenna. It gives great picture but picks only local broadcast channels.

I had no intention of going this far but after a 12 month Sling Deal I figured why not?? Asked a salesman about a "cheap" but good antenna and was pointed to this item. I have tried several antenna to get broadcast stations and none had done the job. After a learning curve of how to get my television to auto scan, I was shocked and delighted that this picked up 16 channels. That's the equivalent to old school basic cable! I do get pixelation occasionally but I got that with my HDTV cable box. The funniest part is. That this antenna made me realize my providers service was less than stellar HD. The picture is actually better, sharper, and clearer with this antenna!

My husband and I moved and the cable provider we chose couldn't install our service for 3 weeks. After a couple of days without "tv", not having it and the background noise you are used to having with TV was driving me crazy. So, we decided to go to Best Buy to see what options were out there. After consulting with a Best Buy employee, we decided to try this product. It worked great and got us by until our cable was installed. It picked up several local channels.

Antenna works great. We pick up lots of local stations, would have gave it 5 stars but it takes up a lot of space when antennas are extended. Also like the built in Amplifier.

This was very easy to set up (even for the technically challenged) and was operating 10 minutes after opening the box. Reception was good, especially considering the price.

I get very good reception of my local channels. Video and audio are of fine quality. Easy to install and use. My only complaint is the lead in to the TV could be longer.

this antenna does its job very well provided it has clear access to "open spaces". Mine is used on a TV in a room wedged between 2 buildings so there is quite a bit of signal infrigement. The result is that it has touble getting all the available channels that are available. It get all but one. That's a small price to pay for the great picture it brings to the TV. Also, it's EXTREMELY easy to connect and install.

Easy to connect and get up and running. It scanned in 53 channels for my.local area. Most of the stations broadcast from 25-35 miles away. The signal is adequate for the most part but it does skip when people are moving in the room. It also pixelates for no reason. I gave it 4 stars because I can't quite get it close enough to the window and I'm thinking that may make a big difference. Really not bad for the money.

We had previously purchased an antenna for 80 bucks and were told by ee that it was most popular one. When we got it home, it would not pick up ABC, CBS and a few other big networks. We were told we could not pick up ABC with any antennas in our area( Alamo Ranch, SA,TX) we exchanged it for this one and guess what? We get ABC, CBS and plenty other networks. Sometimes signal gets lost, but majority of time its good. And it was only 30 bucks

I was looking for something for a spare bedroom so this was fairly inexpensive and works really well, I wasn't worried about distance and was impressed with the channels I get.
