Fair product, doesnt get all channels

This product for the price is decent. We only get a few channels and depending on the TV we get ABC or CBS. We get Fox as long as the antenna is facing the right direction, and we can get the CW clearly. We do get NBC on both our TVs. We have decided to just leave it on one TV and make due with only the channels we receive.

THis is a basic HDTV antenna for short range (under 20 miles) OTA HD reception and is works great. I have two of these and they do exactly what they are suposed to do and as a bonus keep me from having to pay for cable or satellite tv!

    Blame it on Gator Nation

Well, I read enough reviews about this product before buying it, because seldom it is the case where people say the truth about a product in this country. I read that many people where happy about this product and that they received up 30 channels in HD. Well, when I installed the product, it gave me 8 channels, and I thought that the low number of channels is probably due to the location, Gainesville, FL. Well, the last couple of weeks, the reception went from average to poor and I only can get one channel "create". I strongly recommend to ask a friend about the channels that can be received before buying this or similar products. Probably if you pay a bit more, you can get a higher quality. Regards

    Works well, but has limits

The product works exactly as you would hope. Unpack it, move the ears a few times, and your good to go. The only limitation is the available signals in my area. For best reception you need to be within 30 miles of a tower transmitting the signals, and unfortunately I am just outside of that radius. The channels that came in were crystal clear when used with a separate HD tuner. For the price you can't go wrong with this as a backup to wired television service. (this was purchased due to lost service from Hurricane Irene.)

Basic TV without the exorbitant bills

I have a digital TV, which I use for internet streaming, and I don't want to pay cable prices just to get a few basic channels from time to time. I finally bought this antenna to try and watch the Olympics and within a couple minutes of plugging it into the TV and programming the channels, I had over a dozen channels - the major networks and some local and PBS channels for very clear and uninterrupted reception. This antenna was a great buy (it's new so I don't know how durable it is)! I live in a very old building, but it's in a city, so there must be strong enough broadcasts that this antenna picks them up well enough. It is great to have these channels for FREE if I want to watch sports or whatever, and I don't have to deal with a cable company or bills for content that should be free anyway.

My wife and I visited a retreat in a remote area with lots of trees. there was no TV in the room and no cable, we took along our 22 " TV; so we purchase this Antenna, although it didn't bring in all the local stations it bought in enough stations to catch the local news and watch alittle TV . I think we will also use it if the cable or satellite disk go out due to bad weather or long time power failure .

You Get What You Pay For

This antenna picked up way more digital channels compared to my old rabbit ears, but it did not pick up as many channels as I was expecting. Moving the "fine tune knob" loses your valuable signal in many cases and trying to find a position for the antenna to get signal is a tedious task(even in front of a window!). I have to change the antenna position every time I change channels (I was expecting it though). The farthest station it can pick up is about 40 miles away in Greensboro. It would make a decent antenna if all your stations are within a short distance (25-30 miles). I have no plans on returning this product, it didn't meet my expectation, but it got near it! I am about 80% satisfied.

Picks up most of the local channels, some are very sharp. Could be a mountain or two in the way for those channels that are not accessible.

It is super easy to use and hook up. It appears to be of a good quality that will last a while. It picks up all of my local chanels but some of the major channels still are not clear. The adjusting nob helped some but it still could be much better.

I bought this Antenna to be used with my new Digital converter box for my analogue TV. It is not the best on the market but it works fine. I will prefer something better but if you need something affordable this will be OK,

I had bought one of these antennas for myself a few years ago and loved it so I bought another one for my mother in law. The dail helps to fine tune the stations so setup is fairly easy. They suggest that you find the sweet spot before you setup your tv and I agree with that advise

Good item for the price, but very similar to old fashion rabbit ears... Does what it is suppose to do for the price, just wish I didn't have to turn the knob to get better receptions or pick up different channels.

This little antenna (both in size and price) deliveries a lot of channels. I was able to get about 40 channels with it. As other reviewers have mentioned make sure when you program you select all the options such as antenna and cable. Also I had 3 different antenna choices on my tv set up and tried each one. I got about 30 channels with the 1st set up and then tried the others and got even more.

This is a very good antenna -for the price. my HDTV is in my basement, so getting any good reception with any antenna is impossible. so what i did was buy a 25-50 foot cable wire and connected this baby to a near by window and got great results. my neighbor still couldn't believe the picture quality I was receving-especially when I told him it was over the air-not on satilite or cable. YOU DON'T NEED ANY OF THOSE HIGH END ANTENNAS-THIS WILL WORK FINE-IF YOU PUT IN THE EFFORT!

Honestly I wasn't expecting much for $15, and thankfully Best Buy has a good return policy because these are going to have to go back. I had purchased a flat antenna very cheap from Odd Lots... and was thinking maybe with an older 'rabbit ear' style antenna I may be able to pick up something else in my area. Sadly I was wrong. I can pick up 4 channels with the flat antenna but could only get two with this RCA model; and actually they were the same station just different channel numbers. I live in an upstairs apartment close to downtown Mansfield, OH and there are no tall trees or buildings around that could block the signal. I tried moving the antenna around the room some, changing the position of the dipoles, fine tuning the dial etc. and still nothing. It has a nice design though and looks pretty sharp, was to install as well. Just wouldn't work for my area. But for $15 and knowing you can return it, it's worth a try at least.

I only rec'd one channel in my area UNTIL I purchased this antenna to go with my Insignia HD Converter Box. Excellent reception - very few blotched images that resemble satellite reception during a bad storm. Changing the knob setting is easy and updating the channels at times gives me 20 channels with clear reception. Looking forward to February's channel update.

    Sacrificial Channel Strength

    Posted .

My cheap, ancient rabbit ears worked better than this one did. After manipulating in every feasible manner, I could only get MOST of the channels. If I wanted to get (e.g.) channel 3, I would lose channel 6. Or vice versa. But I was never able to obtain every channel in the spectrum. All of our signal towers are in the same vicinity to each other, and I contorted the antenna in every which possible way I could (short of bending them). No go. Perhaps it would work better from farther away (from town)...
