I was looking for something that a 97-year-old, nearly blind personcould use. The screen is big enough to see what is playing, especially on the radio. The sound is not too sharp. The machine does not feel durable when I push the different buttons. Still, in this age of mp3 players, I was happy to find something retro.

I bought this for an inexpensive boombox for work, and was surprised to see it offers a cassette deck, along with a cd player (can play CDRW) and line in audio. I've found that I can't get a local AM radio station that I used to listen to on a similar product, plus the tape player is inconsistent with the playback speed. Also, the player won't play the first 2-3 seconds of my burned CDRWs. I've learned to live with these shortcomings, but I'll buy new next time, and not RCA.

This is definitely an item for the dinosaur cassette collector. It has a cd player as well as an audio input for the ipod/mp3 player. This is where I say the old school meets multimedia. I was disappointed in the cd player drawer mechanism. It's not solidly built. Otherwise it's good.

I bought this specifically for work and wanted radio presets. Its very easy to program the presets and you can go up or down thru the preset buttons. I did not realize it had an auxilary in jack for my ipod so that made it an even better value (you will need to buy the cable to connect). I have not used the cd or cassette so I cannot comment on them. It also has bass boost for different genres of music which does make it sound better. Its not an extremely loud radio so not sure how it would do outside but for an office its perfect.

Tab for playing the tape does ot stay down. You have to press many times. I mainly purchased the radio to play my tapes. Would like to return, and would like to return to a store.

Overall I like my little radio. But I had to adjust when I received it cause the case was not screwed in properly and caused cd player to be stuck. Once I figure that out it now works like new!

I think I know what refurbished means-I could be wrong-but it means fixing something to nearly new condition-or has been checked to make sure it looks and works properly as new as possible. My refurbished boombox was clearly and visibly broken(the antenna) that is-Since the antenna was broken-their was no need to go further with anything-I would have loved to keep it-the appearance was awesome other than the antenna-and I basically bought it for our customer service room-there's just a few of us-and the room is small-the size and also the radio being all digital was a plus because you don't lose the station as fast. Sorry it didn't work out.

It didn't play CDs unless I pushed the CD bin door up while playing. Definitely defective. Also the volume in any setting was soft. It wouldn't even play at moderate volume level - soft only. I can't see why anyone would want this, even at the low price.

Best Buy needs to stop selling this item. I got this radio, mainly because it had the addition of the tape player. But the tape player didn't play my tapes. They played too slow and were distorted. And the radio reception wasn't great on a lot of stations. So I sent it back. They sent me another one and it was even worse. The tape player still doesn't play. I just bought a new stereo system, so I know the problem isn't my tapes, but it's this cheap tape player. And, now, on the 2nd one the CD player starts 4 seconds into every song, so all the songs start in mid-lyric or on an off beat. This is the worst radio/boombox I've ever owned. And the fact that both radios Best Buy sent me had the same problems should be proof that this product needs to be pulled, so no one else has to get stuck with this sucky boombox.

I did'nt realize the speakers were as "small" as they are. Put out very little volume, even at maximum. Would like to have had a boombox with alot more volume. Oherwise, good value for the money. Guess it's true what they say, "You get what You pay for."

If you just want a machine to play your old stuffs. It is good for that. But small kids, the CD rom is really a problem.

This is a nice boombox to use in the kitchen. Decent radio reception and has a nice sound to it. It is a bit bulky in its depth, but that is in part due to the speakers, so a fair trade-off due to the sounds it reproduces. At this price it is a no-brainer.

This boom box was a refurbished unit and it came with a dented antanna. When recording, it had a constant beep all through the recording, play back was even worst with alot of noise and audio distortion, the CD player would skip and stop and would not start at the beginning of the tracks all the time. I returned the unit and bought a brand new same model. It was better in that the recorder did function properly but, the CD player had problems. #1. It has an audio static pop at the begining of each track. 2. It skipped in the middle of the CD and would stop while playing. I believe this particular model has a lot of quality control issues and should be pulled off the market.

This boom box is better than i expected. I was looking for something i could move around whilst working in the workshop and the yard and this radio fits the bill. The tuner pulls in stations that other radios do not. The sound ,while not a good as my better set, is respectable.

This item's sound quality is good but not as clear when listening to the AM/FM radio. Also when I want to listen to a CD, apparently this model wants you to push a button and then wants you to pull quite hard with fairly high amount of strength.

love this CD player, the best thing is the digital radio station presets, and has input for aux such as an Ipod!

Good value Plays old tapes too, so my son loved it.

This is a decent cassette/CD player/radio, at a great price! Have used it for a few weeks, and it plays well! It has several tone settings which make it suitable for all kinds of music. I hope it holds up over time.

I love the fact that I can program the different radio stations I love to listen to.
