In fact at one point it actually had less signal the a stock iphone 6.

Forget about all the other nit picking reviews. I checked the radio signal level of both iPhone 6 and 6plus and the signal was increased in poor spotty Tmobile LTE "between the towers" areas and I have at reached a 40% increase in DB signal level.

Often times performance is seen when you have the ability to make and hold calls in areas where you were previously unable to. You may also see better battery life because the phone isn’t having to work as hard to find and hold a signal. The reason for this is related to how your phone measures signal strength, and what it takes to give you a full “bar”. Your phone’s signal strength is measured in dB’s, and with the logarithmic (non linear) dB scale you can have a 2 dB improvement (which gives you a 1.5x signal improvement) while still not having the phone show an extra “bar”. A full bar of improvement would mean you have a very big 10X signal improvement.
