It is important to know that we designed our Reach Antennas to be used (1) with a case and (2) also when held in a hand or up against a head. Because you may not always see an extra “bar” of signal on your phone screen you may not realize that Reach Antenna is always working to strengthen your signal. The “bars” we all look at on screen are actually a very simplified way to show signal strength. Your true signal strength is measured in dB’s which are much more exact, and then translated into the “bars” we all know and love. dB’s use a logarithmic scale which is non linear like the earthquake scale, so you can have a 2 dB improvement (which gives you a 1.5X signal improvement) while still not having the phone show an extra “bar”. A full bar of improvement for your signal takes 10 dBs, which equals a VERY BIG 10X improvement in your signal.

It is also important to know that we designed Reach Antenna to be used (1) with a case and (2) also when held in your hand so how you are using it and what case you have are factors in performance. It is also important to know that you may not always see more “bars” when using it so you may not realize that it is always working to improve your signal. The reason for this is that the signal strength of your phone is measured in dB’s, and with the logarithmic (non linear) dB scale you can have a 2 dB improvement (which gives you a 1.5x signal improvement) while still not having the phone show an extra “bar”. This means that often times performance is seen when you have the ability to make and hold calls in areas where you were previously unable to. You may also see better battery life because the phone isn’t having to work as hard to find and hold a signal.

We would also like you to know that the adhesive we use was specifically designed for ease of removal without leaving residue, while maintaining a strong hold when in use. It is best to use the supplied removal tool if removing the Reach Antenna to avoid bending it too much while prying it off of the back of your phone.

If you are looking for a bigger lift in your signal we do have a newer product called Reach Case that you may want to consider. Reach Case has an extendable antenna and gives you our best signal improvement to date - - up to a 3X stronger LTE signal. Reach Case is available at Best Buy stores and also online.

Reach Case has been proven in independent lab tests to significantly improve data throughput speeds. However, in the real world, speed test results, such as from Ookla, depend on a variety of external factors, including (but not limited to) network conditions and local environmental variables. For example, when many customers are accessing the same cellular base station at once, the base station automatically reduces data rates in order to allocate access to the network. Similarly connection between a base station and the speed test server can vary significantly depending on overall Internet traffic conditions. So unfortunately it isn’t always possible to observe the improvement in throughput that Reach Case can provide with a simple Speed Test.
