I've always loved the game of hide and seek. Adding in some murder made for an interesting twist on the game.

Without getting into spoilers, "Ready or Not" is technically a horror film about a new bride who must survive a game of hide-and-seek to join her new rich family. Its mild on scares, one or two jump scares, and the gore is mild compared to 90% of the horror out these days. Instead what you get is a silly idea turned into a very entertaining film with a female protagonist who more or less acts like how you really would given the situation. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys horror as well as those who are a little squeamish and timid around scary movies. Its genuinely funny, not super bloody (though there is blood and people do die), and overall not scary.

Hugo Weaving's daughter turns the tables on Satanists who need to sacrifice her. Laugh out loud fun but in a violent really bloody way. Not for the kiddos. Great use of my points.

This film is a lot of fun. Featuring a very fun premise of equal portions laughs, suspense, and devious gore. Sam Weaving gives a great performance and is a character you can follow along with and truly enjoy the journey with. Packs a great conclusion, making you think differently about board games. A nice addition to your collection

2019 was a year of many sequels and remakes... most of which i enjoyed this year, but for an original... especially in the horror/thriller genre... THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING. Lots of twists and turns and even when you know how it may play out, it is still pleasing, but still has turns... A movie that i highly recommend.

The concept alone is what got me hooked on this movie, hide and seek after a wedding to be initiated into the family. This movie manages to balance compelling characters as well as having a bit of dark humor. Don't want to spoil to much, but it is a movie worth adding to your collection.

No retailers appear to have had any special editions of this so I just went with the standard release after only seeing the trailer.. What a fun flick. Suspensful at times, funny at times, it all just works. Great movie. If you're considering getting it, do it, you'll be happy you did.

Such a fun movie, never a dull moment, and Samara Weaving was such a great lead. Plenty of good and bloody kills and great humor. Was really excited to hearing the director and actor commentary and it was enjoyable listening to them have fun discussing the film. Highly recommend.

This is not a very "scary" horror movie, but it's the most fun you will have within the confines of the genre this year. It is so much fun, and the story goes places you don't really expect, which makes this movie so great. In my top 5 of 2019 10/10

I came into the movie strictly a fan of Melanie Scrofono but quickly fell for the interesting in laws from hell scenario sprinkled in with amazing comedy to make it inclusive for the people who may not enjoy the scary or gory aspects of the film.

Samara Weaving was such an icon. This film had no dual moments. It had me laughing. It had me crying. It had me at the edge of my seat! It was a fun ride. The ending was everything! Much enjoyed and regret not watching it in the cinema.

So yeah a lot of releases I wanted to see this year; won't be able to see them until they come out on video...basically for money reasons, this was worth the wait though! Samara Weaving stars as a bride who is marrying into a rich family but first has to go through a initiation (a game if you will) to approve her worthiness of being added to the family, only it turns out to be a much more condensed version of The Most Dangerous Game. Kinda like Happy Death Day 2U; this movie thrives on being a black comedy that knows the ridiculousness of its premise and has fun with it without coming across as cynical or too winking owards the camera, however I enjoyed this film alot more. Weaving does a great job as the bride and is an actor that is thriving right now, and the other family members do a great job with varying sinister/crazy personalities, especially an unrecognizable Adam Brody and that cocaine chick. However I feel like it's in the pacing that's the main problem for me; this movie is an hour and 35 minutes and I think those extra five minutes were dedicated to just silence in dialogue and little bits of walking around the house and outside; strangely a similar problem I just had with Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, nothing excruciatingly or boring but I feel like it could have been a little more lively, the pacing of this movie takes its time and allows you to soak in as much as possible. And this is just a personal nitpick of mine, but I thought the sudden deaths to all the family members towards the end was a bit anti-climactic; admittedly I thought this was going to be a bit more like a slasher film but then I realized if they did that we wouldn't have as much time to enjoy the crazy family members, and the idea with keeping the main members alive till the very end of to kill them off like that; it makes sense for the story, the pacing, and the tone so really it renders my point mute but I still felt the need to bring it up.
