I purchased this when my desktop pooped out during some bad weather. I am going to be using this for indie development, and thus far I have not tried playing any games, installing any of the programs I normally use, migrated my data or anything else. I intend on putting in a SSD before I begin using the laptop regularly, so until it gets here I won't have any updates. (2/9/17) The pros are self evident. I7-7700HQ quad core processing, 'nuff said. Gtx1050 2gb DDR5, tell me a game I can't play on that. 16gb (single channel in use, dual channel available) RAM, kind of a nice surprise, easily upgradable to 32gb by getting another SINGLE 16gb DDR4-2400 for $130. I can't yet speak to whether this model will support mSata, but it does support M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD which is an amazing technology which offers the best consumer grade speeds (that won't break your wallet) and only stand to become more commercially available and less expensive as time goes on. The plastic chassis of this laptop is seemingly decent grade plastic, attracts hand oils easily, feels like those who have vice-like-hands would tear it apart though. It wouldn't be as bad if the keyboard had been backlit. Feel like MSI kind of dropped the ball on this one, but it is their entry line, so I'll limit myself to that. The backplate (encountered when trying to access the HDD and RAM) had this.. Poorly placed sticker that states something to the effect of "tampering with me will void your warranty" and is situated directly over a screw that will be necessary to remove when trying to do any hardware upgrades. If your warranty means a lot to you, beware, and maybe look into this through MSI if it is a deal breaker. Overall, I've booted twice, the first time was setup and took forever, the second time took 12 seconds to boot to desktop, fans are silent when cooler booster is off, when it's on though, you won't care. It seems like it will be very effective for venting heat, and from what reviewers of similar models have written, it substantially cools down the CPU/GPU in around 5 to 10 minutes, even while still gaming. The laptop is a screaming value, and if you can look past a few problems that MSI made for themselves and their buyers, then it really is an amazing buy. Since my laptop will be mostly stationary, I don't mind, if I were travelling a lot, or a student, I would opt for a more durable, alloyed body. There are plenty of entry level gaming laptops (i5 or i7 [look for the quad core variant] with gtx940 and up) around $800 with metal chassis, so buyer be aware of what you are purchasing. Also, MSI software is bulky, and if you really must have it, then just get Dragon center after a clean install of the OS. It does everything that all the other bloatware seems to do, but can offer some interesting capabilities to users looking to try it out.

This is a very fast laptop, Intel core i5 with 8GB RAM. If you are not a fan of SSD hard drive and prefer a larger space, this 1TB HDD should be good enough.The touch screen is esay to use and display looks perfect. The only weakness is the battery, it can only last three hours. So you'd better buy an additional long-lasting battery as replacement when you use it outside. Overall, you can't find a better laptop at this price.

PROS: A great TV at a great price. Nice picture and sound. The control has backlighting for the buttons if you have low lighting, which is a nice feature. The menu and user interface is super user friendly. All the features you'd come to expect from a Smart Samsung TV. CONS: The TV Stand. Not wild about the design of the V Stand. I find the Square base stands to be more classy.

Bought this for my nephew a new months ago and it is a really good basic laptop. He loves it. Only problem so far is that the battery died after only 3 months and it cannot be recharged. Also, seems that this battery does not slide out and you actually have to take the back of the laptop apart to change it. Never thought to look for that before.

After I decided it was time to upgrade my tv that only had one working HDMI port out of two it was a hassle to watch tv and try to play games just by simply removing the cable to just switch the connection I wanted. So after reading many reviews about this monitor it gave me comfort that I was getting a high quality monitor and after I did same day pick it I had zero regrets since the picture is on point while the user can adjust the settings to their specifications. If your a gamer this is probably the hands down monitor to get for home use especially if your picky user like me. The only slight con I can think of is that the buttons r touch sensitive and when I say sensitive they r really sensitive but after learning how that whole process works it's really not that bad so if ur a gamer who wants hands down best picture quality get this.

We purchased this to be used as an additional screen/monitor for our computer and it didn't dissapoint. Very lightweight and easily transportable should you need to move it. The cost made it a better value than purchasing a true monitor and the tv features are a plus! Would definitely purchase again.

I'm being asked to review a recycling fee. Below I'm being asked whether or not I would recommend this to a friend. How exactly am I supposed to respond? As someone who supports recycling or someone who is asked to pay a fee? Three stars. Lose two for the silliness of the question, gain three for giving me reward points for the review.

Great battery life. Nice and fast. Everything works well as always. I prefer this model over the ipad air. Well the thing is the ipad air and ipad mini retina have virtually the same performance - ipad air is 4% faster. Plus they display at the same resolution, despite the smaller screen, so ipad mini just has a sweet like 348 dpi resolution, better than the air by quite a bit. The ipad mini is infinitely more portable - it can fit in a small purse or a coat pocket. The even get the same battery life. The more condensed screen is easier to type on with thumbs and less fatiguing on the eyes in terms of travel. I could only see someone preferring an air for old eyes or if watching movies with others is a big priority.

I am using Inspiron since 2010 and due to battery issues I decided to buy a new one. Best buy had this deal for this laptop and I purchased it. Works great for my daily use. All great feature included in best price plus touch screen and 1 TB HDD.

I get great response speeds with this monitor but not the best quality out. I prefer ips monitors as they provide better picture but at the cost of speed. That is just my preference because other people's may differ from mine.

A recycling fee seems reasonable for an electronic device, however am I paying for my tv to be recycled or someone else I would rather pay at the time I recycle rather than when I purchase my tv

Easy to use for those of us that are not tech savvy. Nice clear bright screen. Starts up fast. Perfect size for use on a lap desk or table top. Much lighter weight than my old laptop. Good price.

This laptop works great for students and for work. I have 3 boys & the computer is great for reports and essays. Its slow @ 1st when you 1st get it going otherwise it is a terrific laptop

This recycling fee is required by state, not sure where the $ actually goes, or if its being spent properly, but California's a decently green state- no opinions here.

Would rather this was not an arbitrary charge but nothing I can do about it. Understand why it's necessary; wouldn't be if people would just do what they should do when they need to dispose of a computer

why do i need to pay a fee for something im buying not recycling

This is my 3rd tv that i bought from insignia and im just amazed how far they have gone. The quality of the tv is just as good as a samsung tv. I boughy this for my dad and he was impressed . The roku smart features are not that bad ...im more of a chrome cast fan but the roku is pretty solid just make sure to go to the roku website to create your free roku account before you setup the tv.

I did not have high expectations for this item because of the price, but it works great. A little slow on the start up, but good for basic work and web browsing.

Hard to get excited about a recycling fee paid years ahead of need, but nice to know when the computer reaches the end, I can take it back for disposal.
