Plain and simple - RDR2 is one of the most intricately built open world currently. Does this mean it’s the best, or the most fun? Well, that mostly depends on your preference in games. Though this one seems to be splitting the most hardcore of gamers. For me, this brand of immersive storytelling mixed with absolute freedom to find the most obscure scenarios - R* style. Yes, this game is a bit slow to start, with chapter one being mainly a tutorial, then chapter two opening up the world to the freedoms of exploration. (I found a house of corpses, a death cult of sorts, in my first hour roaming the open world. The activities are plentiful and deep in their systems, which is also drenched in realism behind the motivations. These certain programmed actions and systems are seemingly what is splitting the crowd. Some wishing this was more chaotic and action driven like GTA, but instead is more paced and steeped in absolute atmosphere. Truly putting you in the trials and tribulations of the old west. But that’s not to say the action isn’t abundant, there is still plenty of set pieces full of fun. My only gripe in gameplay is the old RDR mechanics, just slightly tweaked. Learning the laws of the layout was something that took a moment to perfect, but smooth once things get going. While I’ve mentioned this game may not be for everyone, mostly due to pacing and style of mechanics behind the immersion, I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a great open world experience. Just expect to play through the paces of exploring the old west - well, a bit more than just the west this time around.

While RDR was always fun, I never really played it all the way through.
RDR2, on the other hand, has so much packed in that you will keep busy for quite a while.
Loved it!

Having played the first Red dead, I just had to play this one, and believe me you’ll want to. Graphics are amazing not to mention the story which is so engaging. Can’t put this game down. Highly recommended

This game takes you into a western world. Get on a horse and travel throughout many areas. Gather gold bars and many other items. Watch out for bounty hunters. Explore caves, hunt animals etc.

Great game, open world gameplay with A TON of things to do. I have 25-30 hrs in and I'm only 38% complete with the main story because there are so many side missions and activities.

Rockstar has proven yet again they are the king of open world games. The open world in this game is so inviting with so many things to do it almost overshadows the missions. The main thing about this game though is you really need to get into a mindset comfortable with the slower pace of this game. Otherwise you might think it's boring, etc. but that's just because we have so many twitch shooters out there that gamers have been force fed fast action games and when a slower paced game like this comes along they have a hard time adjusting. But don't fall into that trap, let yourself acclimate to the speed of this game and it will pay off in spades!

To sum this game up in one word just isn’t possible. If your a fan of GTA then this is for you. Not a fan of GTA but love “Open World” games then this is for you. Enjoy hunting and fishing then this game is for you. Tired of games that consist of hang gliding and building this game is for you. I personally love Rockstar games and I’m a huge fan of open world games that allow you to take a break from the actual story and interact with your environment on a level that is so realistic. I love games that allow you to really get to know and connect with characters and this game provides that. Currently I’m playing on a PS4 slim with a 4k HDR television and the graphics are phenomenal. Sadly I wish that I’d purchased this for my Xbox One X to really see the full extent of what the graphics have to offer. For any parents reading as Christmas time approaches I know many of your kids are requesting this game and if you’ve been a fan of Rockstar you already know most if not all their games have inappropriate content for children so just be aware there is no exception with this one. I’m sure if you google about the game it will provide information that help you make a decision whether it’s appropriate for your child. Overall I am enjoying this game and will continue playing even after the main story is completed because it’s so much to do. The side missions are fun and aren’t those silly annoying type side missions either. I cannot comment about the Online experience because I’ve yet to try it. I always like to complete the main story first. The last thing I’d like to comment on is the overall button configuration for movement and interactions in game. I suffer from carpal tunnel in my right hand and many of the actions in game require use of R3 so thanks to controller mapping through the PS4 I’ve been able to configure buttons so that it won’t cause so much discomfort while playing. This is a great game and worth purchasing that offers replay value in order to complete challenges. Please excuse run on sentences, punctuation, spelling and grammatical errors. I’m a Nurse not a Writer lol.

The graphics, storyline and sheer enjoyment of playing this game. This game is a masterpiece. It allows the player the joy of having mission based objectives, free roam and the storyline is amazing. I have played this games for over 6 months and not tired of it. This will be a game I play over and over again.
I cannot wait for a RDR 3…..
