Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about Red Dead Redemption 2's stunning graphics, immersive story, and expansive open world. Many praise the detailed gameplay and the sheer amount of content available, though some find the controls could be improved and the game's pace a bit deliberate. The realism is also frequently highlighted as a positive aspect. While some issues with HDR implementation were noted, the overall reception is overwhelmingly positive.

    Epic Adventure

I am 60 years old and have been video gaming since the first days of Intellivision, Atari and Playstation. With that being said, I grew up watching John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. I love Westerns and always will. This game is truly the best game that I have played thus far and my all time favorite. Rock Star and Naughty Dog are the top two gaming companies in my opinion. I am playing on Xbox X and a 55" 4K TV the graphics set the bar and are just second to none. The music is well thought out and perfect for the era. The towns and scenery are just plain epic. You can get caught up in the scenery just looking around with the binoculars. There is something for everyone here from bustling St. Dennis to the Grizzly Mountains. Sure it takes a bit to get from point A to point B, but then again it did in those days too. I usually get side tracked hunting varmints or big game or stop and fish. Both activities are well thought out and so realistic, There are so many activities to do and sets to collect you will be playing this game for a very long time. There are many humorous adventures too. Like the first time I went up to a horse that I did not first make up to. I quickly got kicked across the stable. Or the time I hit the wrong button and punched my horse Pecos. He quickly turned around and kicked me a good 10 feet. Or the time a billy goat head butted me and knocked me down. Or the first time I tried roping a wild horse. I managed to finally catch up and rope him alongside a moving train; only to have him tumble and the train run him over dead. Hah! I think you get the picture. Let me say this game may not be for all. I have two sons, 16 and 22, both have watched me play. Neither are interested in playing the game one bit. They are from the fast paced CoD crowd. If I were to pick one fault with the game, it would be the save system. I have saved game play and when loaded I find myself in a different location. Also when starting a mission, it would be nice to make a save so if you mess up, you could go back to that save to try it again. For instance, I shot Flaco the gunslinger. He fell face down outside his cabin. Now you are supposed to take his picture to prove you shot him. I could not as the picture would not show his face. I tried and tried so many ways. I finally found if I walked thru him it disturbed his body a bit. After walking thru him about 25 times his face was exposed. You can replay missions, but you have to start from their check point. In this case I could not start the mission over as it wasn't complete. I would have had to go back to the previous day. If you travel far, you may need to do that all over again. This is a minor complaint though. I still feel RDR2 should be and will be GOTY . If you enjoy role playing games, this is a must have game.

"I was born 1889. I'm now 130 year old and I remember the good ol days". said a person I know. He was telling me of how it was back then when there was no cars on the road. This Game detail is so authentic. I give it five out of five stars. I'm sure there so much to put in the review but to sum it up if your looking to going back to the ol days and riding a horse. this game will not let you down. Thank You Rockstar. for giving us this story about 1889. Few of the tings I like Load times are fast. Detail is top notch. day and night detail. The Story only thing that I don't like is nothing!

This game provides an Excellent Escape from reality. It’s beautiful and truly feels like you’re stepping into a different world. This is the next level of video games and brings open world games to a new level in design. You become a part of a complex world with excellent design.

I don't review many games but this game is very entertaining and I am only half way through. The controls take some time to get used to but it could be because we are used to much faster paced games.

So, I went through 5 minutes of resetting my best buy email to write this review, I don’t normally leave reviews, but this game was worth it. First, I’m not a huge gamer, I play maybe 5 hrs a week, and mainly pc games from blizzard. (D3). After reading the reviews and seeing the trailer for this game I bought it yesterday. All I can say is WOW... this game has entered a new standard of gaming! I have t played the first RDR game, and I’m not much of a cowboy fan. But loved the Clint Eastwood movies back in the day (Pale rider one of my favs) and since the guy on the cover of this game looks like Clint I thought it would be fun. This game has it all, scenery, shooting, hunting scenarios, and poker!! It actually has poker! I host a poker game st my place and was blown away when this game had it! A couple of notes: the game takes a looong time to install, it’s 2 discs and took about 30-45 minutes for me on xbox. Second if your impatient, and not into strategy games, this may not be a good game for you. I read the 3 star reviews and less, and it’s clear some people are into the fast and quick satisfaction action games. I could play this game over and over again , there is sooo much to discover! It’s like I’m playing a movie more then a game!! Well done Rockster truely a evolution in gaming! FYI if you don’t have. 4K tv GET ONE!! This game justifies it alone, and TVs are cheap now, but spend descent money, you won’t be disappointed!!
