Red Dead Redemption 2 is a 2018 action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar Games. The game is the third entry in the Red Dead series and is a prequel to the 2010 game Red Dead Redemption.

Big map but very difficult to local story missions

While RDR2 map appears to be large, the game expects the player to keep wondering on the map in looking for story related mini missions. Some quest can become broken if getting killed while on mission. When the game reloads, the player is at middle of no where. Having daylight changes can put some quest almost impossible to play if reached at the location at night.

This game is a technological marvel. The physics, the graphics, the detail; all stunning. The world is huge and full of detail, life and things to do. The story writing and characters are great and all combine to make for one incredibly addicting, immersive experience. I can't wait to play every time i'm not playing. it's that good. sure, there are a couple downfalls like the controls being complex and confusing at times, but these are easily overshadowed and become small gripes once you get used to them. 10/10 in my book. i would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone...just maybe not the young kiddos.

This game was a birthday gift I bought myself and it’s an awesome gaming experience, especially for older gamers in their 30s who appreciate depth and attention to detail. Set in a richly detailed open world, the story of Arthur Morgan, an outlaw in the declining Wild West era is emotionally engaging, filled with complex characters and moral dilemmas, which resonates well with an older gamer like me. The game's slow pace and emphasis on realism, from maintaining your camp to caring for your horse, add to its depth, making it more than just an action game. This attention to detail, along with stunning visuals and a vast, explorable world, provides a truly cinematic experience. The online multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, offers extended playability, although it may not appeal to everyone. As an older gamer, you might find the single-player story more appealing due to its rich narrative. All in all, Rockstar knocked it out of the park, "Red Dead Redemption II" is an exceptional game for those who appreciate a deep story, realistic game mechanics, and a beautiful open world to explore. Its slow pace and complexity are well-suited for gamers who enjoy immersive and thoughtful experiences.

I absolutely love this game. The attention to detail and the endless options/opportunities are fantastic. My only complaint is that Rockstar Gaming has let their online portion go a little bit. There are a number of small glitches/bugs. Either way, the gameplay is excellent. The storyline is wonderful. This is not like GTA, where there is constant violence. It is all how you play. It is peaceful and exciting. You can hunt, fish, bounty hunt, run a moonshine operation, and much more. I'm constantly discovering new details and features.

    Astounding Game

Because my life gets pretty busy, I've only been able to spend about 8-10 hours in the world of RDR2. However, I've been pretty amazed by the visuals and depth of gameplay along with the story and characters. This is definitely not a game for those with short attention spans as it makes you grind out tasks for a bigger dose of realism. I'm still working towards getting camp to the point where I can access quick travel... in the meantime, it's a bit of a slog getting from point A to point B, but that was Rockstar's point: to take in the beautiful world crafted with interesting things, and beautiful and interesting it is. Given the amount of time I have to game, I'll probably be playing this game for years as I tend to get easily side-tracked from the main storyline. Heck, just running around shooting photos with the camera is like a photography sim. The game itself is intriguing, it has depth, and it's probably the most realistic video game I've ever played, all things considered. I've been playing this on a One X and so far, gameplay is super smooth, loading isn't excessive (well, at least once you get all 80GB installed) and it's a ton of fun. I would highly recommend to anyone that wants to experience a game that is pushing the envelope on this generation of consoles.

One of the best single player games I've played in a long time, great story and fun gameplay taking place in a large open world. The game has an insane amount of detail put into the world, but this is why I rate it a 4 instead of a 5. There is so much detail a lot isn't really necessary which takes away from the potential to run at 60 FPS, instead we are locked to 30 FPS, even on the xbox one X. No option to reduce quality to run at 60 FPS on xbox one X version.

I've been really excited to see this game release after roughly eight years since the original game's release. Read Dead 2 looks great on current consoles especially on Xbox One X if you have a 4K display. It has been made known that the HDR effect is currently not that great and though I have a 2016 LG IPS panel TV it looks best with the HDR setting at around the 450 or 500 nit mark instead of the recommended 300 mark. The game does a lot of hand holding at the beginning but the story is great and engaging with nods to the first game with this being a prequel to the original Red Dead. Once you reach the first town the game opens up a lot and gives you a much better idea of how expansive the game really is now.

I don’t even know where to start with this game. The graphics are amazing even, better than some newer games. The characters draw you in where you experience a true immersive environment. There are main story quests, side missions, stranger missions and the free roaming. I am on my second play through just enjoying everything this game has to offer. I highly recommend this game. You can play through fast or slow, the choice is yours to determine your path.

This game is fantastic!! Visually stunning. Great story. I love everything about this game, the only thing I wish is it had an instant fast travel to anywhere on the map. A little into the game you can semi fast travel to locations. This one small complaint aside this is a must play in my opinion. FYI I’ve seen some people complain they didn’t play past the “snow level”. This is still in the introductory of the game. I admit this part was a little tedious even though I enjoyed it, but get into the open world and give it a chance. If it’s not for you fine but give it a chance. I love riding around on my horse shooting bandits, robbing trains and coming across memorable encounters. (Game looks fantastic one the Xbox One X in 4K!)

Words can't explain how great this game is. If you are familiar with the previous Red Dead games, you know of the attention to detail. This takes it to a bigger and better pedestal. The story, gameplay, open world, etc. is perfect. You can play this for hours, beat the main story, and still have endless hours of free play that will consume you in a world that is impeccable. You must buy this!

Red Dead Redemtion is widely considered Rockstar games greatest game & within a lot of peoples top 10 lists. This game surpasses the first, the story is one of the best told. You feel for most of the characters in the game & the main antagonist Arthur Morgan is a perfect leading man. The world is sprawling with things to do & random events & plenty of side quests. The only one negative is the controls, I know not everyone will agree but sometimes they can be wonky. Only came across a few glitches. 10/10 a must play if you like games.

I've been hearing how beautiful and while made. This game is where you can go to shoot up mode or starry mode. What's most impressive? Is the details of the graphics totally out of this world because you're a marriage bet..

I’m new to the frnachise, & came in a bit skeptical of all the praise but walked away pretty content with my experience. Story was a bit cliché but some of the characters were pretty likable/memorable, gameplay was good, albiet with controls that can be a bit clunky sometimes (like with picking up items, interacting with NPCs in certain situations, etc). There’s lots of hidden easter eggs in the open world that I have yet to uncover. 8/10 game, well worth the $20.

RDR2 is one of the most beautiful and graphically detail oriented games I've ever played. The voice acting across the board is stellar, even for NPCs. RDR2 has an enthralling story thay you craft yourself by your decisions throughout. The western environment is sprawling but also has real world impact on your character Arthur Morgan resulting in one unforgettable gaming experience.

As the title states, it’s been a long wait! I’ll keep it brief as there is so much intel available on RDR2 already. If you love open world games, there is none better. Like to be distracted by shiny objects (read: too much to do)? This is your game. I can easily see this taking me a year to finish all objectives. Graphics? Unbelievable. Look at an object....then look again: the attention to detail is second to none. Well done Rockstar! Well done!

Nobody builds a world like Rockstar. This game is movie like in its presentation and story and voice acting. You wont be let down by the production values on display here. Only area I continue to be annoyed at when it comes to Rockstar games are the floaty controls. In 2018 this should not be a problem as other games have found a way to do movement without the drift or lag. Still in no way holds the game back from a 5 star rating.

Great follow-up to Red Dead Redemption. I'd give this review six stars but five is all I'm allowed. One for every bullet in Arthur Morgan's six shooter. All the drama of the Wild West at the turn of the century. Lots of action and a really great story make for a great game all around.
