Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland. The game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience. First off, this game is very realistic and has a lot of depth to it. So for some, that can be a turn off, but I love games with a lot of depth and realism. The open world is amazing, and the story is probably one of the best from Rocksteady. Game looks incredible on the one x with a 4K tv. I def recommend this game. But be warned, it isn’t your typical cod shooter etc so.

Been a fan since Red Dead Revolver. I've been waiting for rdr2 for a while and it's worth it. When I have a chance to play, it's hard to put the controller down after finishing a couple of missions. You want to continue and explore everything in the game. Graphics are beautiful and the story is very good so far. Overall an awesome game!

PROS:
One of the best looking console game's this season.
Easily the most surprising story in open-world history.
A ludicrous and lovely number of side distractions.
CONS:
Lack of fast travel makes this one looooong game, I do wish there was a way to jump forward at times.
The ending isn’t as brave as the first game.

Very fun open world game. This has been a nice upgrade on Xbox One compare to the original game on 360. The graphics are top notch and the open world has a lot to offer outside of just playing the story. Very enjoyable if you are a fan of westerns.

Great follow up to part 1. Very nice graphics on the Xbox one x. Freedom to roam around and cause mischief if desired or play the story mode. Choices to be made that make an impact on the game itself. I've had alot of fun with it so far and haven't lost interest. I recommend picking it up yourself.

Hours of exploring, hunting, fishing, shooting. This open map game is one of the best I play. everything looks very real. I'm not a gamer but I do enjoy going hunting in this game, also shooting enemies camps. no encounter is the same.

First of all, I love a free roaming game. After playing the first one, I've been waiting for this release for many years. Red Dead Redemption 2 didn't disappoint. Awesome graphics and a very engaging storyline. Contusion take a little while to get used to. Love the game.

In my first 10 hours or so playing Red Dead Redemption 2, I have to say that it lives up the hype, and it is worth the wait from the release of the first game. It looks amazing and is a lot of fun. There are a few issues with the game: long load times on a base Xbox One. The controls seem a bit sluggish/clunky. The menus are a bit cumbersome, your items in the radial menus are the same colors so it can be a little difficult to quickly differentiate between items without reading their description. The pause/start menu can also be frustrating. I think the menu should be able to be quickly completely closed by pressing start/menu. Instead depending on part of the menu you are in you must press B to back out of the menu on screen at a time.

This game is so wonderful! The graphics are beyond amazing. It has a strong storyline, and the game play is so smooth, it's like you're playing a movie! The online gameplay is a little rough, but it has potential to get better in time.
Definitely a must buy!

Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorite games of all time. This game is not on that same level. But, still very good.
The controls in this game are confusing. They have mapped different functions to the same button. So, you try to do an action and something else happens. Very peculiar choice.
The game is gorgeous, and the story is great. Not all the characters are endearing. But, the core group is very memorable. This is a very large and slow game. Stop and smell the flowers.

What other game out there has a soundtrack that makes you feel like you are in all the timeless Western classics, graphics that are pushed to the limits, gameplay that is wholly satisfying, and side games where you can spend hours diving into? Yes, Red Dead 2 is that game. You will find that all of the side missions early on beg you to take the game slowly and enjoy this masterpiece and achievement in gaming. Rockstar has done it again and I cannot wait for the online component to launch.
With a main storyline that takes 70+ hours, you will be able to play this game for a long time to come. That means there is endless value to this game as there is with all Rockstar games.

I was slow to get to this game because of the hype around it, but it is an excellent game. Good story, great graphics, action, a little humor, lots of options, just a really good game. You will spend a lot of time playing this game.

This game is massive and incredible in scope but also extremely frustrating at times. If you are not okay with spending 15 mins travelling across the map on horseback for a mission and then another 15 mins back, you might not want to buy this game. It is extremely deliberate, sometimes clunky but it is also attempting things no other game has done. Certainly a lot of content in the package but you may not actually enjoy playing it depending on your preferences.

Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 isn’t just a game—it’s a sprawling, cinematic experience that redefines what open-world storytelling can be. Set in 1899, it follows Arthur Morgan, a grizzled outlaw navigating the decline of the Wild West and the unraveling of the Van der Linde gang. What unfolds is a tale of loyalty, loss, and the slow erosion of freedom.

We’ve waited nearly a decade for this, and it was worth every second. Simply put, this is one of the greatest games of all time and should be played by anyone who loves gaming, even if third person Adventure’s aren’t your thing. With an open world and sandbox that is yours to do what you want in, the possibilities are endless. And Xbox zone X is the only way to get it in native 4K. I normally do my gaming on PS Pro, but switched over to the X just for this, and it’s worth it.

Fantastic open world setting with exceptional graphics! Storyline captured my interest and I was stuck playing the game day in and out. All the side missions and extra features are amazing. Rockstar knocked it out of the park once again.

Rockstar has set the bar high once again! Its said they spent 8 years developing this game and it absolutely paid off. I easily spent 200 hours immersed in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. Having loved the original Red Dead game, I knew I would pick this up eventually but was concerned due to not caring for the latest Grand Theft Auto game. I'm glad I did. The graphics are unprecedented on the PS4 Pro and amazing on the XBOX ONE original console ( I have yet to buy an XBOX ONE X). The landscapes range from swamp land to snowy mountains to tall grass and forests. There is an array of animals to hunt, fish to catch and horses to tame and ride. Hunting has an extra added layer of complexity. Animal pelt come in three different varieties, poor, good and perfect. In order to craft clothing, satchels, etc. perfect and/or legendary pelts need to be obtained. Fish can be caught then cooked or sold. There are also Legendary fish to catch as well.
This is not a game where you want to skip the cutscenes as the voice acting, music and story are top notch! I found myself walking around camp and talking to NPC's to learn their unique stories and backgrounds. I also enjoyed reading Arthur's journal as he records drawings of unique sights he sees while out in the world. The journal also gives the player insight into how Arthur feels about certain events that unfold throughout the game.
When you need a break from the main storyline, there are side quests as well as mini games like Dominoes, Five Finger Fillet, Poker and Blackjack. To put it lightly, this game is packed with things to do.
If you buy one video game this year, make it this one. When I exhausted all the options, I legitimately got bummed due to not having any new content. With that being said, for those of you who play online, there is RDR Online. I can't say much about it because I'm of the dying single player breed. I do hope that Rockstar releases a single-player DLC. They definitely will have my money if so!

If you were a fan of the original Red Dead like I was then you'll absolutely love this game. There's so much to explore in this massive open world, a slew of challenges and hunts to complete, interesting characters to interact with and learn about. The only caveat with the game lies in its actual gameplay, which at times can feel slow and sluggish thanks to Rockstar's almost ridiculous attention to detail. Thankfully it doesnt detract from the overall experience. The graphics are incredible and you can definitely tell the game was crafted with a lot of TLC over its long 8 year development, and that's just the single player campaign. Here's hoping the same amount of effort goes into the upcoming multiplayer mode.
