I was blown away by this film as 4 year old kid, vhs was the fuzzy of all when I was kid. For years this film was my place that I could find great strength & motivation, like so many Disney films that are in my life since I was 4. But seeing this movie on blu ray, wow!!!!! I am just shocked how, you can see the different animation scens that go from water color to hand drawn. The rescuers looks just fantastic, get this one right away, down under was alright, but, it didn't captivate that courage & strength & of course story, like the first one did. Even the music for the rescuers is breathtaking!!!!

This seems to be an unpopular opinion, but I have a fondness for quite a few of Disney’s post-Golden Age and pre-Revival films (movies released in 1970s/ 80s). The Resucers and its sequel are two of the underrated movies from this era. I would say that the original is a bit better than the sequel, but both have interesting storylines, fun characters, unique settings, and good drama for the whole family. They may be a bit scary for the youngest of kids, but definitely any 7 year old would enjoy them. I, as a young adult Disney fan, enjoyed them as well.

The voices of the players add so much to the show. You are taken to places that are drenched in colors that add to the film. The music is always an added delight. You are able to feel, anything is possible, no matter the situation. The down under film is a little bit weird because of the pertrail of the poacher. His greed is a wee bit brutal. But love the side kick of the lizard as comic backup.

Even though we don't have a Blu-ray player, my friends do and I will probably get one at some point. I'm very pleased with having the Blu-ray and DVD copies of both of these films. They are both my all-time favorite Disney films, and I was just so happy to find both in one package and for such a low price. Such timeless and fun films, too! There's something for everyone in both of these films.

Underappreciated Disney Classic

Both movies are a worthwhile part of any Disney classic collectors library. The original rescuers was part of the disney success in the 1970s and the second part of the renaissance of disney in the late 80s to mid 90s. I am still entertained by both movies ( I watched both as a child).
The only knock on the combo pack is that it does not include the prince and the pauper which was including in theatres for The Rescuers Down Under.

trying to replace my old VCR tapes with blu ray for grandchildren, this was a bargain 2 for one. The Rescuers Down Under movie resonates in me the power of the animation medium. I was in disbelief at the emotion I felt when I saw the young hero fall from a cliff and saw the animated expressions of fear on his face and the tears squeezed from his eyes by the fall - amazing and great music score.

One of Disney's original classics along with its sequel in a great combo pack which is a must own for families who would like to share with generations to come, two films that should not be missed, and will share these two films for generations to come for a very long time. A must own for young families your children will love every minute of these two classics.

I bought this double feature solely for The Rescuers Down Under . I loved this movie when it first came out and have to revisit it ever once in a while. The old DVD release looked horrible, but this Blu-ray looks wonderful. The Rescuers Down Under was the first movie in which Disney started to use computers to aid in animation process.

This movie brings lovely memories to my husband, so it was perfect as part of an anniversary gift. It was great to find it in blu-ray and also watch it on family movie night. Adults remembering childhood memories and children making new memories. Win, win!

I grew up watching both of these quite often as a child. It's quite awesome that they are now sold in a combo package and you can get both at the same time. These are great for anytime you want to get with your kids and have a movie night. Enjoying and fun all the way through with kid friendly action and adventure!

I think that The Rescuers Down Under is truly a forgotten gem in the Disney catalog, and to have it combined with the original film in one blu-ray disc for this price is a no-brainer purchase for fans.
The combination of hand-drawn characters against computer-generated environments seems more jarring when viewed on a big screen in 1080p, but I really don't have any complaints about the picture or audio quality. In fact, the booming roar of McLeach's truck is quite terrifying in 5.1 surround!
If this had come with a digital copy, I'd have given it 5 stars.

Two of Disney's Most Underrated Animated Films

The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under are without a doubt two of Disney's most underrated animated films-- though infrequently mentioned among the ranks of Disney classics, these two movies are hidden treasures, and well worth the $15 this set normally sells for. At $10 it was an instant purchase.

The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under are classic children's movies, and a must have for all children :)
What I love about this version is that you not only get the blu-ray, but the dvd and digital copies too so you can take and watch the movies on whatever technology you do have or you will have on trips, etc! A must-buy!

I usually hesitate when I see the double feature discs from Disney, if for no other reason than the second film is typically a direct to video sequel I have no interest in. However, The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under are both worth your time, whether you saw the first or second one as a child.

As a grandmother I was looking for a good video my 6 yr.-old grandson may not have seen. We were going on a long car trip and vacationing with him for a week. I remembered seeing this one and that it was terrific.
Never saw the "Down Under" one but my grandson laughed at that one too. Great purchase in my opinion!
