Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the Utopia 360° Virtual Reality Headset's price and the virtual reality experience it provides, also noting its ease of use. However, negative feedback frequently cites issues with phone compatibility and controller functionality, with some users also reporting problems with the remote and headset fit. Many found the VR experience enjoyable for the price. The headset's compatibility with various phone models appears to be a significant concern.

This was my Plan B purchase after my Plan A DreamVision - Virtual Reality Smartphone Headset purchase failed. The DreamVision headset would not stay closed when I inserted my iPhone 6 Plus. I had no such issues with the Utopia. Once installed, the setup was fairly straightforward. As noted above - this is not an expensive unit so your expectations should mirror that. But it is fun and cheap and worth the investment for a quick good time.

    Good for the money.

Let me first state that you must keep in mind that this is not a $500 VR unit. So that being said, I did not go into this with high expectations. You also must keep in mind how good of a phone you are using with this. I was using a Galaxy Note 4. It worked ok with my phone. The only annoyance was having to constantly open the unit to switch vr apps. The Note 4 is quite large, which made it a little challenging to get it to fit in between the spring loaded brackets. Once the phone was in, it was fine. The thing I think most people will notice with these VR sets now, is that your your phone screen resolution is what plays a big part of how good the video looks through the lens of the headset. The cartoon style apps looks fine, but when I was trying out the live video apps, it was very hard to watch, because the clarity image wise was not that good. For the money, I can see this filling the void until you are ready to drop the big bucks on the higher end units. Worth a try.

I bought the first one which the remote wasn't working so I ended up driving back to the store to get another one well not only didn't this new one worked but it was also broken from the inside like who ever was making these didn't give a you know what and also the plate in the front was upside down and also the button to the remote was broken so I'm going to have to go back to the store to return it and get the money back which is practically what I spent on gas trying to make this work.cheap parts cheap plastic they should just sell these at the dollar store.

    Not for the IPhone

This VR headset is not meant for the IPhone at all. There are some rather boring apps you can download but now many and none that are really interesting. When looking through the viewer, you can see that you are looking a your phone up close. The adjustments don't even isolate the phone screen and it looks like you are looking at your screen through both lenses and they overlap. Not to mention, you can see the insides of the viewer when attempting to use. The action button is meaningless and the Bluetooth controller does not work with the IPhone despite having a IOS setting. Got this for Christmas and put it down in frustration after about 15 minutes. I tried the Samsung VR and this is NOTHING like that. Bottom line is Samsung beat IPhone (and other competitors) to market with VR technology so to compare at this stage of the growth cycle for VR is useless. I assume Apple will take this into consideration and make adjustments on either future IOS updates or come out with their own VR product. Either way, for now if you want a true VR experience, get the Samsung.

Remote doesn't work with any apps. My iPhone 6s+ was too thin to react to the button. Had to put foam tabs in holder. Searched for apps that work with remote, none worked. Buy the viewer without the remote and save $5.
