This great selfie-stick has a HUGE benefit

I specifically bought this Selfie Stick not for the stick itself, but for the clamp that holds the head onto the top of the stick. The clamp is removable via a threaded knob and can be put onto any tripod that also had a threaded mount on top. This way, I can use it on my tripod for extended shots and better stability. The clamp fits my iPhone 6+ perfectly and is strong and secure. Now, as a selfie stick the thing is lots of fun. I wasn't expecting that. As soon as I tried it in "selfie mode" I was immediately laughing at myself for how ridiculous it seemed. A week later, I had a party and it was tons of fun to take shots with friends. I can see why people like them. The trigger button worked with the phone in the audio jack with NO setup at all. My only complaint is that it is a little bendy when the big 6+ is at the end when fully extended(due to the weight). For better rigidity, I just didn't extend the stick fully. I would recommend this product, ESPECIALLY for the removable clamp that can fit on other tripods.

The selfie stick works and I can take photos or video with it. The selfie stick did just barely fit my Google Nexus 6 phone (with the case off, which I don't like) and the stick itself seems a bit "slippery" as the weight of the phone holder and phone made it top heavy (if I didn't have a firm grip the entire time it would slip to one side or the other making the phone and, thereby the camera, incorrectly angled. This could be as a result of the phone size/weight and my size hand (hand fits small size women's gloves and ring finger size 5). I gave this item 3 starts as it does what's intended, is easy to use, had a string handle holder (in case the stick slips or you drop it) but couldn't rate higher as it was a struggle to get my phone in the holder, I dropped the phone in the process because of the struggle, and I had to remove the case to fit (which I didn't want to do).

Overall, It Does What It Was Designed To Do

The main reason I bought a selfie stick was so that I could take pictures above the heads of those standing in front of me. And it does serve that purpose well. However, if you have a case on your cell phone; in my case an Otterbox, the bracket isn't designed properly so that the case fits snugly in it. I have to take my phone out of my case, which I don't like doing in order to use this selfie stick. My other phone is in a Lifeproof case, so you can forget about it fitting well in the bracket. Plus the cable you connect to the audio jack, doesn't work. There is an adapter that goes with the case, but I typically don't carry it with me...now I guess I will need to. It does serve its purpose but I think with a bit of a bracket redesign, this could be a much better selfie stick. With a redesigned bracket, it would get more stars from me...

It is a nice invention to have when you are trying to take a selfie and get some of the background in as well. My only complaint is the mechanism of the button you have to push to snap the picture. It can be a little bit of a challenge, holding the stick up, positioning it, looking at the camera making sure everything looks good, and trying to push the button to snap the pic without any movement. Some positions were a whole lot easier than others, but when you have your arm fully extended, I found it a little challenging. Maybe the button could be bigger? That might help or maybe a little more sensitive so you don't have to due as much pushing of the button to take the pic. Or maybe it could be position a little bit better? Who knows...I'm not the selfie expert...first experience with a selfie stick. Overall, experience was good and glad to have...just needs some tweaking, in my opinion.

My brother-in-law made fun of me for buying this selfie stick, but I don't care. Although I've always been resistant to the culture of selfies, I recognize there are some places and times where I whip out my phone to capture an awesome scene. Unfortunately, my arms are all kinds of shaky and not very long, so half the time when I attempt a selfie, all I get is an up close and unflattering picture of me without any sign of the wonderful background I was attempting to capture... but NOT any longer with this! The selfie stick is easy to operate and sturdier than I expected (at least the actual stick/plastic/metal components). Some of the wiring seems a bit shoddy, but it hasn't broken yet!

i bought this selfie stick because i liked the fact that no wifi or bluetooth required! when i opened the box the first thing i saw was a yellow note that read 'STOP. IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES TAKING PHOTOS WITH THE CAPTURE BUTTON, PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THIS PRODUCT TO THE RETAILER. PLEASE SEE BACK' of course first red flag because they must be having a lot of issues if they need to place these in the box. when my button didn't work i looked at the back and the instructions didn't help and i downloaded their app and it still doesn't work. piece of trash

Holds my iPhone X well but I couldn’t get the selfie button to work on my phone. It does require using a 3.5mm adapter to use with the lighting plug on iPhone. I will be using this for video recording so the selfie button not working won’t bother me. I just wanted a handle to hold on instead of holding onto my phone. The wand does extend out to 3 feet if needed. I wish the wand was thicker as it’s very skinny so hard to hold on to with large hands.

I purchased this selfie stick in Houston for a upcoming trip to Las vegas. As it was my first selfie stick I choose not to spend more.I was so disappointed that the stick didn't survive its journey to the vegas.I hardly clicked 10 to 20 photos and the holder which holds the iphone got broke.3 screws hold the phone together and the place where the screw sits is made of cheap plastic.I tried to fix it but couldn't and called customer care of retrak and they never pick up the call not they return the calls if you are thinking of leaving a voice msg.I bought Insignia selfie stick now and it works great.

    Exchanged for bluetooth stick

So I purchased this wired selfie stick for two reasons: first, and most importantly, because the bluetooth selfie stick was out of stock at the time and secondly, because the guy assured me it would work with my iphone 6 plus. Once I got home and decided to try out I realized it did not. At first, I thought it was the stick that did not work but then I tried it out with older iphones (5 and 5S) and it did work. So I came up with the conclusion that it just wouldn't work with my 6 plus. I went to another store the following week and exchanged it for the same brand bluetooth stick- that one works perfectly with my iphone 6 plus!

I bought this wired selfie stick to use with my iPhone and my wife's Samsung cell phone for a 6-day trip we were going on. I tested it before the trip, and it worked with my wife's phone, but I couldn't get it to work at all with my iPhone. We brought the selfie stick with us on the trip to use with my wife's phone, but it stopped working on the 2nd day of the trip! We would press the button, and it would click, but it didn't take photos anymore, even though the settings on the cell phone were still all correct.

The button on the handle doesn't always work. It seems to be in a different place from where it's marked to press. Missed some great shots from my daughter's college graduation from trying to press the button and it not working. I read reviews before purchasing and most thought the plug in version of the selfie stick was the best. I guess I'll buy the bluetooth version and see if it's any better. I sort of doubt it. Will probably have the same button issue on handle. I'm contemplating returning my purchase. I'll give it a few more tries but so far, it's a bust!

I like the selfie stick, I was leery of getting one since they all seem so cheaply made. This one is fairly well made, I have an iPhone 6 and it fits just fine. The pole is pretty sturdy it does wiggle slightly but nothing that I've noticed affects the overall quality. It's nice that you don't need an app or Bluetooth to operate the selfie stick. Literally just plug it into the headphone jack, open the camera app and press the button on the selfie stick. I enjoyed using the selfie stick on a coupe of vacations this summer and it's been a lot of fun.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 that I have been using this selfie stick with but have also had friends with IPhones use it too and both work great. I have had problems in the past with ones that were supposed to operate via bluetooth remote so having a button on the actual stick that requires no setup other than plugging the cord into your audio jack is very nice. Only complaint is that sometimes the part that holds the phone gets a little loose but tightening it is easy so its not enough to deter me from the product.

This selfie stick has good length. Plus, I like the cord to plug it in to my iPhone 6. That way I don't have another gadget to keep charged up to use. That is a plus! One thing I don't like as much is when you have the stick fully extended. the weight of the phone causes the sections of the stick to rotate either left or right. This causes the pictures to be crooked. You have to learn to balalnce the phone on the end of the stick to keep this from happening. It does get annoying. Just as you are ready to snap a pic, the stick will rotate.

It's great that this selfie stick takes pictures without having to be charged and or be connected to bluetooth. The downfall to this selfie stick is that the rubber part of the stick (where the button is found) is unstable and twists and turns. Therefore, it can be a mission to find the button to take pictures. Also, the soft padding where you secure the phone, is and was not properly glued on. When I removed my phone from the compartment that holds the phone, the padding was already coming off.

The first one of this product that I bought for my daughter didn’t work at all … right out of the box. The handle grip around the shutter button was loose and turned sideways and the frame that was supposed to hold her phone in place was not tight enough and allowed her phone to fall. The one we exchanged it for worked fine for about 3 days … and then just stopped working all together. Very disappointed and would advise anyone looking for a selfie-stick to look for another brand … this company is obviously not quality oriented!

This selfie stick is of no use to me as the portion that hold mobile doesn't even connect to the stick.. I tried every possible way to attach but it seems that the screw thread is not long enough to hold it.. I visited my friend who had an exact same product and tried connecting my holder piece and it was holding that up.. so its the product I got handed over is faulty.. I am thinking to visit best buy to return/exchange in my next visit

I recently went on a family trip to New York. Everyone made fun of my selfie stick at first but by the end of the trip they were All impressed at the amazing shots I got. I wouldn't recommend bringing it into crowded places like amusement parks, because it's obnoxious and not safe to use on roller coasters. I actually prefer the plug-in rather than the Bluetooth so that other people can easily use it. The only complaint I have is when the bar is fully extended it is a little bit flimsy.

My first selfie stick has some pros and cons. It's lightweight and easy to attach to my phone .... Very user friendly! But I wish this was smaller and could fit in my cross body purse when I'm out and about. It would fit in a larger purse but now a days girls are carrying less (clutches, crossbody, ect). So making the stick extend and the attachment smaller would help this product. Also the button to push sometimes is harder when you are trying to hold in place and take the pic at the same time.....

Bought for travels figuring the price was right and would do the trick. It kind of did but very often had trouble pushing the button to actually take the photo. After a few years, it completely stopped working during last vacation BUT, it still worked to hold the phone at a distance and we used the facial recognition app for selfies that will still take the photo. So at least it still functions from that perspective.
