Super nice dash cam with Starvis technology!

This is such a great front/rear camera bundle. It has everything I need for a full car setup including a hardwire kit in addition to the cig adapter for power. In the past, I've always had to purchase separate hardwire kits to have a clean professional install in my vehicles. Such a great package to include it with this kit. I've had dash cams in all of my vehicles for over a decade. In the past 2 years, I've had a couple accidents that were not my fault and each time the dash cam footage has made the insurance claims process easy. The image quality is important to catch license plate and details of the accident. Fortunately those were daytime accidents so my prior dash cam footage was sufficient. However, nighttime footage would have been lacking. The Starvis technology on this camera substantially improves nighttime image quality.

This is the best dual cam dashcam

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and it's been great. Quality of the videos is the best I've ever seen, however, getting to the settings menu wasn't that intuitive as you need to stop the recording first then the icons change to get to the settings. I didn't notice a quality difference from the front vs rear camera as both were superb. During installation I did notice the system got pretty warm as well as the rear cam but this didn't seem to affect anything. Overall, this is the best dual dashcam I've seen.

I was looking to upgrade my V1PGW from 2022 (I also still have 2 V1P and a V1) and have never used anything but Rexing. These cams have paid for themselves several times over in a few sideswipes and fender benders. The other drivers ALWAYS lie. Rexings do not. Anyway, aside from the other great features, I was mostly interested in the speed of the wifi as the other cameras either didn't have wifi connectivity or it was slow. Video ilooks great, the included wiring kit and sd card are a bonus, and the profile fits my windshield area better than the V1 style.

A high end dashcam with a large screen

First of all, i was surprised by the size of this screen even though the dimensions are listed in the description. The front camera has a generous screen size, almost 75% the size of my phone. The rear camera is much smaller and is pretty easy to fit anywhere. This is one of the few kits that includes everything you need, including a hardwire fuse kit and memory card. I wired this to my accessory fuse. This was great because on my past installs, i had to buy this separately and it would be around $20 so that saved me time and money. I was able to connect this to the rexing app without much trouble. The image quality is very good and maybe the best one ive owned so far. Theres no battery inside either, so i dont have to worry about parking under direct sun or having the battery expand. Would highly recommend this if you are looking for an upgrade to a cheaper dashcam or looking for a top of the line dashcam to start.

    Another Rexing home run

The rexing dash cams are just top quality. Solid construction and a huge improvement over the last one I've been using for several years now. The display image is super clear and touch screen is very responsive and accurate. It always impresses me that every possible item needed for a clean install is included including the microSD card, you need nothing other than some time to get it installed. I hooked it up temporarily and will have to wait for a warmer day because we are in the middle of a nasty cold snap in the Northeast. They provide plenty of length in all the cabling to get it plugged in and routed nicely through the trim. The adjustable camera angle is a nice plus this time as it can be set for high hoods or low hoods or high windshields or low windshields. The only complaint I can come up with is my old one game with two mounting brackets so that I could move it from one car to the other.

By Far The Best 4K Picture Quality

I have had over a dozen dash cameras in my vehicals over the years and I most say that this Rexing R88 4K front and rear camera has by far the best picture quality I have seen. I've added a picture of the image facing the sun with no filter on the lens. It has a 4" touch screen that makes it very easy to set up and retrieve your video clips. They have included both the 12 volt outlet plug and a hard wire set up and mine can with the 128 GB micro SD card. It has 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi and GPS. Also parking monitor (if you hard wire it) and a 22' rear camera extension cable.

    Another Solid Dashcam from Rexing

I’ve tried a few dash cams over the years and this one is still my favorite so far. The 4K front and 4K rear footage is really clear and you can actually read license plates without having to zoom in or squint. The sensor does a great job at night too. Night driving footage looks way better than I expected and that was one of the main reasons I picked this one. Install was pretty straight forward and once it’s mounted it feels solid. The wide angle view covers everything I’d want without looking all warped. I also like having built in GPS so speed and location are saved right in the video. The WiFi makes pulling clips to my phone quick and easy, which is way more convienent than dealing with the SD card. Loop recording and the G sensor give me a lot of peice of mind since it automatically saves clips if something happens. Parking mode is a nice bonus so the car is still covered when it’s parked. Overall it just works and does what it’s supposed to do. Defintely feels like money well spent. That said, there are a few annoyances. The USB C cable for the rear camera isn’t right angled, so it sticks out more and doesn’t match the right angle power cable, which makes the install look a little less clean. There’s also no physical button to lock a recording on the fly, which would have been really useful. Another small but annoying thing is the volume resets to loud every time the camera turns off, so you have to keep turning it back down. I also wasn’t able to use the hard wired kit because my interior fuse box doesn’t have a constant 12v source. I tested all the fuses with a multimeter and couldn’t find one that worked, so that part may depend on your car. Even with those issues, I’m still happy with it and would buy it again.

Finally a 4k Front and REAR! Rexing is Awesome

Finally a 4k Sony camera on BOTH front and Rear. I just swapped out my 1080 Rexing camera in my Tundra. Loved that this came with a hardwire instead of purchasing one on my own. It really takes the guess work away. Full complete with SD card, Rexing made it easy for me to remove my old dash came system and swap over without having to find/ buy anything extra. It is extremely clear with 4k. I remember back in the day I would have to buy Rexing hardwire kit, I think this was really nice this time around. Don't be afraid of the "hardwitre kit" You don't have to cut any wires. Just need to find a fuse in your fuse box. one that stays on all the time and one that turns on only when you turn the key.

I have Rexing in both of my cars now. I love the app and being able to upload to my camera when I want while still having the removeable sd card. You can record in 1,2 or 3 min intervals but I'd recommend the 3 min which will make your sd card last longer..especially recording in 4k...it has 170 degree field view which helps to record traffic on both sides in front of the vehicle for those occassions when people run lights or run through parking lots like happened to my wife...I also really like hte gps so that there is no question where you are and how fast you are going...there are 2 ways to install and I prefer the cigarette lighter install but the other would be easy as well... has a g sensor to auto record and lock recordings...love that...the Starvis that they tout is for low light recording which I havent really explored to see how much of a difference it makes...but clearly it helps...the touch screen is quite small as I show in the pics which makes the dashcam really low profile... I really like rexing and the app makes it so easy to use ...I'd recommend any rexing dash cam...took me about 30 min to install both the front and rear cameras and set up the app

The video quality is really good. Good build quality as well and it comes with sd card!. Not too bulky. I like how it's not directly stick to my windshield to prevent residue (there's clear film you stick between the windshield and the dash cam adhesive. Very clever IMO. The only bad thing is it's kind of expensive.

Best Buy Exclusive Kit: Everything you need!

The Rexing R88 Front + Rear Camera kit from Best Buy is the one to get! This bundle includes both a hardwire kit ($25-$40 value) and a 128gb High Endurance MicroSD card ($30-$40 value) that is not available from other retailers. It also includes a regular cigarette adapter if you do not or cannot hardwire install. This goes on sale for $300 and at that price is a very good bargain. This is the sweet spot for a mainstream dual camera system. Any cheaper and you give up things like image quality and reliability. If you want much better, be prepared to spend 2x for only a 10-20% improvement. I've been using Rexing cameras for 5+ years and have yet to have one fail. They post firmware upgrades regularly and their customer service is responsive. This kit will work well for most people and most vehicles. Make sure to register with Rexing to extend your warranty from 12 months to 18 months!

I had a much older model of Rexing dash cam before I upgraded to the R88, and the picture quality is much better. The installation was fairly easy except the cable from the USB-C to the charging module was barely long enough to hide behind one of the trim panels. The G-sensor works great and notifies you when you get back in the vehicle if there are locked videos to review. I have been using rexing for almost 10 years and also put one of their dash cams in my wife's car.

EXPERIENCED DASH CAM USER HONEST REVIEW

This isn't my first Rodeo/Rexing. I have a lot of driving experience using Dash cams and some of those are from Rexing. Some thoughts before we get to this specific R88 Camera. 1) Why aren't vehicle manufactures putting power ports near the rear view mirror? Phone chargers, dash cams, etc. are common enough that some vehicle designer should have thought of this by now. 2) None of the dash cams I've used (including Rexing) give you crystal clear video like you'd get if you had a Go Pro (or a 360) strapped to your head and your put your head out the window - calibrate your expectations. 3) Installing the rear camera is a pain. It's not going to take you 30 minutes if you're doing it right and routing the cable to be invisible. OK, the R88 with the dual Sony Starvis sensors is a quality getup. The mounting and cable routing is similar to all other systems. The video is decent in daylight when the sun is not blinding the driver and good enough at night that you can prove your point if you're in an accident. This camera (see pic) also comes with a memory card and the Smart Hardwire Kit. The kit is useful/necessary for the parking mode to work. Keep this in mind, if you are pouring through reviews looking for the best dash cam. I've used a lot of them, the video from the $70 camera to the $400 camera improves slightly, but not enough to justify the price increase. This camera has a nice image sensor that works well, better than a $70 entry level camera. And you get a memory card, 5.8GHz GPS, a smart hardwire kit, a nice screen, and Rexing support - none of which come with the entry level $70 cameras.

Very solid dash cam. Installation was easy, although the instructions were not all as clear as I’d like them. I had to look up some additional information regarding the static sticker and the hardwire kit. Camera feels solid and has good picture quality. Very nice features. Especially with the included hardwire kit. The app leaves something to be desired, but if you just use the SD Card it works great. I have used a kit of dash cams in the past and this one is definitely one I can recommend.

I and my family members have owned several Rexing cameras through out the years. I decided to buy this version for my teenage daughter as I wanted to have extra protection in case of accidents or anything. The quality is really good, took some time to install (wires are a bit hard for me LOL). So far I am satisfied with everything, especially that there was a memory card and I don't have to spend extra. My daughter is a fan of the touch screen, says it's easier that way, but I would prefer button. I would love for the cost to be a little bit less though, but everything is expensive nowadays anyway.

Currently using the Rexing v1 which served me for 10 years and still going strong. Now wanted to upgrade to the latest version and this one caught my eye with a sony lens. The camera quality is excellent with all the latest features. As i know that Rexing products last a long time this will be a good future proof investment. This is what I have been looking for! Something to capture everything clearly. Some other night videos just don’t cut it, I’m glad this can do it! Rexing has been making my dash cam for years. I always trust their brand. I was impressed that the hardware kit was including in this model, I will definitely use it. I have always been a fan of the Sony Lens too, they have always provided amazing quality. Thank you Rexing for continuing to innovate and keep us feeling confident that we have video to capture every moment on the road.

I have been using Rexing Dash Cams for many years. The quality of the video keeps improving with each new release. Having 4k recorded video on the front and rear cameras is something I have been wanting in a dashcam. Best Buy does a great job with having the bundle that includes the Micro SD card, and hard wire kit. Keep up the great work Rexing!
