I have an a Rexing R316 in my truck and had a really good experience with it. This R88 blows the R316 away. The build quality feels much better with the R88. The video looks much more crisp then the R316. I also love the touchscreen. One of the things I disliked about the previous Rexing cameras was remember what button did what. No problems with navigating this touchscreen. I need more time with this particular camera, but there are two concerns. First, I don't believe the back camera has infrared. The videos I recorded in a parking garage are pretty dark that it there may be issues with the parking monitor picking up anything worthwhile when it is dark out. Second, the specs say suction mount... Both the front and back camera are sticker. I really liked the R316 windshield suction mount. This windshield one, you cannot remove the camera. It made it much easier removing the SD card with the suction mount. However my main concern is how to use my sunshield if I cannot remove the camera. I feel it will just fry in the AZ sun. But I know their customer service is great so I have 18 mos to see if it can withstand the sun. Also, it's great they provide a 128gb card, however that gives me about a day of recording. It's definitely worthwhile to buy a 256gb card.

This is an excellent dash camera. I am a returning customer to Rexing. It has been over six years since I began to use their products, and my original Rexing V1P camera is still going strong. Despite the flawless reliability of my Rexing products throughout the years, the advancements of the R88 are unmatched. The video quality is notably improved with the Sony Starvis platform. The form factor of the front and rear cameras is extremely efficient - sleek and modern yet the front camera maximizes the screen size while minimizing bezel size. As the weather is turning cold where I live, the R88 continues to perform in the freezing morning temperatures without issues. I look forward to many years of reliable service from the R88.

This is my 3rd rexing product. This one is the lowest profile and best picture. It has a lot larger screen for for viewing from inside the vihicle and came with the hard wire kit this time. All in all. Worth it.

Rexing does it again with the R88 Dashcam. The larger display is nice when going through menus. Wifi connection is easy and downloading videos is simple.

Huge upgrade to my previous dash cam. The 4k resolution and Sony Starvis sensors are impressive. The camera is noticeably clearer and 170 degree view is much wider! I like the option of a 1 to 3 minute loop. Setup was simple. I highly recommend as it has WiFi and GPS too!

Rexing premium dash cam

This is by far the best Rexing dash cam I reviewed. This dash cam is indeed premium category build and operation wise. Rear 4k is the best part of this. I this is first one to offer 4k rear cam. The touch screen display is nice, bright, responsive. The size is bigger for my taste though. I'd prefer more discrete size, that can be hidden behind rear view mirror background. For some reason it doesn't get hidden well in my mini van, due to placement of mirror and available space behind it.
Rear cam quality is remarkably good, 4k really shines.
I think the description on BB is wrong. I got 128Gb microsd card as opposed to 64GB mentioned on BB.
It might not have large number of bells and whistles, but the functionality is flawless and it does feel premium indeed. One thing I need to point out is that it'll not power up if connected to USB C power sources in home. It does need either provided car cig lighter power or hardwire kit to come up.
I don't use parking mode as I think it consumes more battery than I would like. Apart from that, this is a phenomenal pair of front and rear cams.

I recently purchased this 4K car dash cam, and I’m very satisfied with its performance. I previously used two three-year-old dash cams, one in the front and one in the back. The video quality of this new dash cam is incredibly clear—even at night, when I can easily read license plates. Setting up the menu and installing the device was simple and intuitive. The camera feels sturdy and the mount holds it firmly in place while I drive. Recording both front and rear views gives me added peace of mind on the road. Although the price is a bit high, I believe the upgrade is worth it and the value is excellent. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

It’s my 3rd Rexing dash cam. For my 18 years old nephew’s birthday gift. As a new driver, his 2018 Rov4. definitely needs a best dash cam to protect him when accident happens.

Sometimes simpler is better. Only front and rear cameras but both have excellent picture quality. I've had many Rexing Dash Cams and I feel this is the best one yet.
Simple to setup. Easy touch control on screen to access whatever settings are needed.
For most people, the front/rear camera will be sufficient. If you need an in-cabin camera option, then this isn't for you. Spend the extra and get great quality video with ease of use.

I’ve been using Rexing since I came back to the US. I tend to buy a new Rexing camera each time I obtain a new car, so this is my 5th Rexing in 10yrs.
The camera itself is really nice. Visually, the best Rexing I’ve had. The screen easily splits both front and rear camera feeds. Downside, is it’s a bit larger than my other Rexing (about the size of my wallet), so hiding it behind/under the rear-view mirror without seeing the screen is virtually non-existent (while driving, I don’t necessarily like to see the screen – especially at night), but this is a personal preference and not really a hit on the camera itself.
The camera can see beyond the sides of the car, which is very nice. With the slope of my windshield, I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get it all.
The rear camera is small and compact, tucked in the upper edge of the back window; I can barely see it in my rear view mirror.
When the camera connects to the app, the app is great. Videos are clear. Sound is clear. All good.
However, it keeps disconnecting from the app.
(Now I am not sure if that is my phone disconnecting from the camera’s wifi or the camera itself; the fact I haven’t seen much for comments about the app/wifi makes me believe it’s my Android phone)
My issues:
-Cables. By now, I would think they could make use of 90deg connectors to minimize what protrudes out of the sides; or top side connectors. Instead, due to install, there are these connectors sticking out of the side by about 2in (which may not seem like much, but anything extra in a windshield can be distracting). Now mine is hard wired in, so the cables come out of the sides and up through the top (which I don’t see as they follow the stem of the rear-view mirror), so no extra wires hanging off the dash into the center console.
-Mounting. Previous models had a bracket that you stick on the window and the camera slides on/off. Not the case here (unless I am greatly doing something wrong here). So this means the camera doesn’t come back off the windshield. Bit of an issue for people like me who likes to set the camera up in hand (I usually connect to an adapter in the wall). Now you’re forced to before install, or forced to do it while it’s hanging in the window.
Also, if you’re a bit inept like me, getting the SD card out isn’t the easiest thing to do without removing the camera from the windshield.
The only thing I can’t provide experience on yet is longevity. Now, Rexing has done well with cameras in the FL heat. However, what seems to fail are the memory cards (typically I have to buy a new card every 2yrs).
I can only assume this Rexing is built to last. I can only hope the card that came with the camera is also built to last.
Honestly, for the price, I am not sure I’m sold.
My wife’s car still has the V55, for which we paid less than ½ of the R88, which is an amazing camera. (although after 4yrs, the onboard screen stopped working, but it’s recording just fine still, so I am not super worried).
Comparing the two today, I have a hard time believing the R88 is worth the extra $250 over the V55.
Overall, it’s a great camera, albeit very expensive compared to some of Rexing other great cameras.
For the camera itself, I give 4* (loses a star for the fact it’s a 1-piece and not a bracket/camera set and the cables sticking out both sides). But when adding the price, I give it 3*, as Rexing has cheaper models that do just as well.

Fantastic Dashcam, it's set to a decent price point based on its quality. I've used rexing cameras for the last 8 years on all of our vehicles. They do a great job and stand by thier products.
This camera has plenty of bells and whistles, great image quality, and easy to replay videos in the heat of the moment.

Rexing is known for their quality and high value dash cams. The R88 really stands out as a true high-end dash cam due the amazing Sony STARVIS 2 sensor.
I have had 4k dash cams in the past that were serviceable in terms of license plate recognition, but the Sony sensor really elevates the performance beyond resolution alone. The clarity is truly incredible, even in motion.
Beyond the amazing camera performance, the R88 is feature rich, including a hardwire kit for parking monitoring and an advanced G-force sensor. Support for modern WiFi standards is also appreciated for quick transfer of video files from the dash cam to your phone.

If you don’t have a dash cam yet, it’s time to get one. I started with a single front facing Rexing dash cam many years ago and it worked so well that I’ve updated a few times. I love the large display screen on this unit and the 4K front and rear cameras. It’s easy to mount and run the wires to the back. I haven’t tried to hard wire the camera yet, but I like that it is included in this kit. For now I just use the 12 volt socket to power the camera because it’s still easy to hide the wires under the dash.

Rexing - R88 4K Front + 4K Rear Dashcam

This is a replacement for 6+ year old Rexing V1P 3rd Generation Dual 1080p Full HD Front and Rear dashcam that still works well. Comparing to V1P 3, R88 dashcam is a solid upgrade: 4K front and rear cameras resolution is much clearer, it now has a built-in GPS, touch screen is big and convenient, parking monitor cable is included along with a compatible 128 GB SD card. Installation is simple and takes about an hour. The only adjustment I would like to see is angled instead of straight rear camera connector which will improve installed camera appeal, but this is a minor issue not affecting functionality. Overall, I am happy with this upgrade.

This is the 4th Rexing dash cam that I have purchased (for my 4th vehicle). Each model gets better and more reliable in the hot Texas summers. My first generation from 4-5 years ago stopped working when the temps got above 95, but the last two did not have that issue. The camera quality is excellent and I only wish they would include a high end max storage micro SD card so I didn't have to buy one. I leave mine running 24x7 and like to have 4-5 days of continuous footage as I leave my truck parked at the airport for work trips. I don't hesitate to recommend this to anybody.
