I bought this for my daughter to put up at her apartment ...security is always important but in a building with people coming and going it is a must! Love the security and dependability of it! We had a super annoying vivint system in the home we bought. I don't need smart everything but I do like the idea of a front door camera - so bought this and had a friend install. You can change the doorbell tone. Easy to use. Good value at $5/mo for the ring subscription.

The install was very easy. Design is very nice and the chime works great. The app sometimes is a bit delayed, however a lot of that is more likely from my network connection depending on where I am at in the world.

I was hesitant and did lots of research on which set up I wanted. I’ve been very impressed with this. The chime allows me to interchange and choose my inside chime noise.

In my case I had originally 11 VAC and the Ring doorbell will never go into the configuration stage. Also make sure that you purchase the combo doorbell and chime package as this doorbell is not compatible with the original chime in your home. Last in order to save videos and reviewed them later you need to pay $4.99 a month for the cheapest subscription since the doorbell doesn’t have any local storage and needs to store the videos in the Ring cloud.

It sounds like there was some confusion regarding the voltage requirements. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired requires a hardwired transformer rated at 10 to 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz, with a power output between 8 VA and 40 VA. This information can be found on Ring’s official support page. For your safety, only use an existing doorbell transformer within the range specified above or compatible Ring accessories to power your device.
The Ring Home Plan provides valuable capabilities, such as accessing paid features and the ability to save, download, and review footage captured by your Ring device. Without a Ring Home Plan, you can still view real-time video for Ring doorbells and cameras and answer doorbell notifications when they happen, but you don’t get video recordings of those events.

I love everything about this thing. I stay in an apartment complex & I purchased this in case my packages are left at my door while I'm at work. Everyone looks but that camera is definitely watching. Buy this, not the Google doorbell

Bought an AC adapter and plugged it in and it would still disconnect all the time due to low battery. This doorbell stays connected constantly using the same AC adapter. Huge improvement from the Google doorbell!
