The first Rio was heads and shoulders above this one, as far as story. Animation 5 stars, story, 3. It seems that not as much thought was put into the story. There was more effort to put in what seems to be more musical numbers and sillier situations and something was lost in the process. This made the story much shallower and a bit disappointing compared to the first one, but the animation was very well done. You may enjoy it for that. Some of the music pales to the first movie. But...young kids will really enjoy it. Adults, not as much, especially if they saw the first one.

Rio is favorite at our household. Our 4-year old has probably seen it at least 20 times. Of course, he was excited when we brought home Rio 2. It's a great continuation of the first film, and it brings back most of the characters that our son loves. This package also includes the digital copy, which is a huge bonus. We threw the movie on our iPad, and he's able to watch in the car or when we're out, which can be a life saver!

Rarely does the sequel beat the original, but Rio 2 appears to have done that. By joining the parrots years later, the story evolved in a believable "real life" way to follow the new family and its adventures in the Amazon. The only negative was the revival of "Nigel" - which seemed unnecessary as Jewel's father served a good and ultimately constructive role in the film. Still, a must see if you enjoyed the original!

We had started to watch this movie a while back with our grandkids and we thought it was a bit too childish for us adults. It wasn't until we decided to watch it in 3D that we realized what a good movie it is for the whole family. It's funny, it has good lessons for the kids and the 3D makes it even more gorgeous to watch. Also, that song, Poisonous Love, it's fantastic.

This film is a sequel to Rio and to explore the new adventure to embark the journey in the heart of Brazil. Loves the cinematography with beautiful colors and it so realistic. The jungle is so realistic that you ever imagined. Then here comes the musical, parade and dancing birds in Amazon. Kid loves to sing and dance! Overall, I liked the film and I highly recommended to a friend.

Great service at the store (the staff went to the back to find my copy) - I loved the first RIO so that is relevant but this one is even better - great very repeatable fun with uncompromising quality - The 3D is excellent and the songs are wonderful - Stands with great musicals of classic hollywood - Inclusion of a songs only mode guarantees this will be played many times.

My family and I have seen the first real movie so we naturally wanted to follow up with the second film. I will honestly say that the first film was much better than the second one but the second one is still worth watching. If you have kids or if you don't that happens to like animated movies this film is pretty decent I really wanted to give it three and a half Stars but I had no choice but to give it for because to give it 3 would be a disservice.

My boyfriend and I went to best buy to pick up my online order - and we had his son with us. When he saw this movie he really wanted it - so we purchased it thinking he would be entertained and we could work around the house while he watched this movie.... but this movie was so entertaining all 3 of us ended up in front of the TV watching it! Perfect for all of your family to watch - even some funny jokes for the adults watching! Must see if you enjoy funny, musical movies!

I'm a fan of the original Rio and a bird lover and I was not disappointed in this movie. The music is great, the visuals are stunning, and the writing is humorous. The main drawbacks are the forgettable villains; the main antagonist is generic and Nigel's involvement was pitifully unnecessary. Although the first movie is still the best, this film is still worth a watch for anyone who enjoyed the original and is a fan of birds in general.

My 4yo son loved Rio 1 and before our trip to Mexico this summer we thought we'd get him part 2. We all watched together. It's nice that they brought back all of the familiar voices from the 1st movie. They also go to many cities in Brasil which was pretty cool having just watched World Cup, we recognized most of the cities they visited.

The first Rio movie was so popular with my Great Grand kids that Rio 2 was on a birthday wish list for my 6 year old GGson. I got the DVD as well as the Blue Ray because they can watch it again in the bedroom or the livingroom. As you must know, kids watch these movies over and over again, never seeming to tire of it. The boys LOVED it.

Rio was good and so is Rio 2. The brilliant colors jump in your eyes and makes them feel good.

We really enjoyed watching Rio 2 with our family. It was especially entertaining to see the movie in light of Brazil hosting World Cup. We enjoyed every moment of the movie.The scenery was fantastic, the play of actors was just as great. For all those who enjoyed Rio, this is a very deserving sequel, well worth of your expectations.

My grandson and I enjoyed watching the first Rio 1 movie and I thought it would be a great idea to get the second movie and try it out. i was not disappointed or shall I say we were not disappointed. The music was great and we both had a great time watching this movie over and over again.

The Rio 2 was colorful and wonderful and the studios should continue to supply home viewing so we can continue to see hit 3-D Theatre Movies! 4 K is too saturated with color and will fail as TV prices dropping for yet another new format. Keep what is popular BD 3-D! Thanks!!! Ed ~~~ sho buz~~~

As I have stated in my Epic DVD review, I stated that Blu Sky has only made mediocre films for the most part, never excelling with their look, stories or heart, all copycatting from other films. The trend continues with Rio 2 and I'm not even going to mention too much about the film because its pretty much a mix other other better films with some mild humor and, admittedly, beautiful animation and great 3D but other than that, only for kids. The PQ as I stated above, is outstanding, with beautiful colors, details in the back,mid and foregrounds and a 3D that literally pops off your TV. As delicious as the picture is the Samba-spiced sound and terrific use of sounds, music and dialogue mixed beautifully. The extras are once again disappointing, but still nice nonetheless. The 3D BluRay has a 3D deleted scene, with the 2D Blu Ray and DVD containing the bulk of the supplements. There is the same deleted scene, a Rio refresher (Its a rundown of the story so far..), 5 featurettes, art gallery, music video, a multi-language feature, and trailers, with the DVD and UV code rounding out the package. I only recommend this to kids, 3D fanatics or fans of these films, other than that stay away!

The storyline was good, but best of all, everybody could enjoy this movie. Great animation and I loved watching the creativity of the city scape illustrations. It is a good movie for the kids. Plus it was selling for 4 dollars. Worth it.

Rio 2 will have everyone who watches the movie dancing and singing. My 4 year old daughter loves this movie and has literally tried and (usually succeeds) in watching Rio 2 EVERY single day. And I don't blame her, because I love watching it too. I love the music, acting, and the plot of the story. Great family movie.

Rio 2 is a wonderfully entertaining film. Often sequels don't quite measure up to their predecessors. This is not the case with Rio 2. There was no let down here. It was as good or possibly better than the first film. Great story, good humor, stunningly beautiful, I really enjoyed this film.

We got Rio and Rio 2 at the same time, both BD/DVD/Digital. Rio doesn't allow you to add the digital copy to the iTunes platform...but Rio 2 does! It's perfect! It's available and easily accessible on all iPhones, iPads and Apple TV's in the house. My 7- and 3-year olds are ecstatic.
