This is a story out of the Biblical tradition, but the message behind the life of the roman centurion and his encounter with Jesus Christ is the essence of the Gospel. I recommend every pastor to get a copy and introduce the word of Faith from the perspective of a non-believer. Great movie, good script.

A good movie overall. Not sure of the accuracy, historically speaking, but a good 3rd person perspective of the crucifixion and days following. Doesn't challenge the faith with speculation of alterior meanings, such as "Noah" and "Exodus: Gods and Kings". A must-see for any Christian.

The Christian movie you're hoping for. An excellent story, great acting, and has bits of action (violence). Not a beat you over the head plot, but you feel real empathy for the players. A good price for you old schoolers like me that still buy DVDs (okay, Blue Ray). Lots of great extra features.

4K movies with HDR provide absolutely breathtaking quality. Your taste in movies titles and subjects is up to you. Obviously we like the film for the story it tells and the way the actors do their job. Otherwise, why spend the money at 4K HDR prices if you don't already know what your getting?

Most stories of the Crucifixion of Christ are from the point of view of the followers of Christ. This film takes the approach from the non-believer. A Roman captain is tasked with making sure that nothing happens to the body of Christ and the search for Christ when it is reported that He is risen.

This is a good movie, although not entirely Biblical it does a good job of telling the story in a new and interesting way. Naturally the writers took some liberties but I still found this to be a enjoyable movie. It's nice to get a different perspective on this timeless story.

I would love to see more movies like this. However, it's really difficult to find an actor to portray Jesus. It's as if the writer forgets we are talking about the Son Of GOD. We are talking, perfection! I didn't see that in this actor. Maybe they should have used Ted Neeley!

I have seen a lot of movies that dealt with the life of Christ but most dealt with from the perspective of his time from start of ministry to his cruxification. This was a great perspective to see it through the eyes of a non believer and the time after Christmas had risen. Highly recommend.

It is refreshing to view the story of Jesus' resurrection through the eyes of an external observer, a Gentile. Although this film's story is fiction, I believe it is based on facts as observed by real human witnesses; witnesses who had nothing to gain by telling the truth.

When I first saw the previews for "Risen" at the movie theater, I thought it was going to be a copy of "The Passion of the Christ" movie. I was wrong. It was a unique, original story of a Roman soldier's eye-opening experience with Christ after His crucifixion. It is a movie worth seeing!

Perhap a movie more slanted to men than women this picture appraised the story of Jesus from an apologetic approach. Definitely not a documentary, Risen presented the Biblical story as a forensic follow up to the events of the crucifixion. The movie is more interesting than my review.

This story is from the viewpoint of a Roman Tribune and how he went from being a non-believer to being a believer in Christ. A very well written and portrayed plot and from an entirely different perspective than what I am used to seeing about the crucifixion of Christ.

We bought this to test our new 4KHD blue-ray player and enjoyed it very much. The movie depicts a Roman army officer's investigation of the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's an interesting dramatization of a historical narrative.

Joseph Fiennes and Peter Firth are in excellent form in this spiritual sequel to The Passion of the Christ. Maybe a little hokey in the final third of the film to non-believers but most of it feels more like an entertaining episode of CSI: Ancient Rome

Great movie about the crucifixion the rise of Jesus as told through the eyes of a Roman soldier. Joseph Fiennes and Tom Felton deliver compelling performances as as Roman soldiers investigating the disappearance of Christ's body from his tomb. A must see movie!

Some repeating moments which could be cut. Some slow moments too but the issue is important. Too many people forget the Resurrection and it is just as important as the crucifixion. Also Jesus can raise us from the dead just He rose Himself.

Excellent movie about the resurrection of Jesus , told from a nonbeliever 's point of view. The quality of acting was very good, and they stayed true on all things about Jesus. The character of Clavius was very satisfying. Great movie to watch with anyone!

This film offers a compelling look at the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the vantage point of a skeptical Roman officer. It's a creative telling of how the Gospel might have been experienced and witnessed by people from a variety of viewpoints.

Me and my wife saw this at the theater, and I had to buy it. It is a very moving telling of the most important part of the greatest story ever told from a different perspective . I look forward to viewing it again with other members of my family.
