Bought it for family members who love to eat rice. I didn’t think it would be so small for them. They still use it when not much rice is needed.

This rice cooker is supposed to work by the rice and water weight keeping the machine on and cooking. However, three out of the four times I used it, the combined weight did not keep the cooker on and the rice and water just sat there. ..uncooked. Very disappointing! Don't buy it!!

This item is great if you're looking to pick up a small rice cooker on the cheap. Small enough to sit on a counter, but really only made for cooking for 1-2 people. Nice design, easy to clean, does tend to leave a 'burnt on' layer when finished cooking, but that might not necessarily be a fault with the product. Easy to use, has a measuring cup included and auto switches to 'warm' mode when finished cooking

This cooks rice okay but water drips from the bottom and soaks my countertop. I put a towel under it.

I have owned this rice cooker for OVER 5 years and it is still going strong! To give you a little bit of context I am Puerto Rican and I've been making rice since I was 8 years old (I am over 40). We use this little cooker -AT LEAST- once a day to make anything from oatmeal in the morning to rice mixed with beans or vegetables. It is simple to use and once you get the right combination of rice and water, made super easy with the included measuring cup you are guaranteed perfect rice every time. Old fashioned steel cut Oatmeal is a cinch in this little cooker -1-1/2 cups milk or water and 3/4 cup dried oatmeal, add a teaspoon of brown sugar , a sprinkle of cinnamon and a pat of butter and you have a hearty breakfast. I am handicapped now and cannot sit over a stove and watch pots, this rice cooker is truly a blessing and a little workhorse. I definitely have gotten my moneys worth. You cannot go wrong if you get it. the only thing you need to know is your rice. Paboiled rice will be MUCH fluffier than regular long grain, s stay at 3 cups or it will overflow once cooked. The nonstick pot is fantastic, just make sure you don't use any metal spoons or utensils in it. I lost my lid years ago-it shattered from heat when used to cover something else by mistake, and have not been able to replace it so I still use my cooker I just put a saucer on top-works like a charm!

I picked up a (well used) unit at Goodwill today thinking it wouldn't work well. To my surprise this thing kicks butt! The inner Teflon was abused and scratched badly from whoever owned it before me but my first batch of rice didn't stick. The rice didn't boil over AND it was pure white on the bottom and not scorched like other cookers I've used. I always rinse my rice well to keep it from boiling over. I put in a cup of Jasmin and 1.25 cups of water and it cooked it to perfection in that it wasn't soggy and wasn't dry...it was perfect and fluffy. I don't think it would hold over 2 cups (dry) because it was half full with 1 cup. It's really small and takes up no space. I'll be using it all the time. Get yours today and you'll be happy with it! It cooks soups too.

i didn't have high expectation for this product when I purchased it. I have owned many rice cooker. I decided to get a small rice cooker to use when I travel. I just need something small and basic. I didn't expect the Rival rice cooker to last this long. It has been 9 years. It is still going strong.

This rice cooker is so simple to use and is wonderful to make dinner. We use it every day. I would recommend this to anyone.

I bought one of these several years ago and have been using it once or twice a week since. I liked it so much that I bought one for each of my daughters and girlfriend. All of them get regular use. I like brown rice with my meals so I cook up a batch and put the leftover rice back in the fridge in the cooker pan. To re-heat, I just put a splash of water in the pan and put it back to steam. I also use this for any number of other rice based recipes. To clean I put the top in the dishwasher, the pan washes quickly with soapy water.

This is the perfect rice maker, easy to clean, easy to use & makes enough rice for just one person or for 6.Perfect for college kids, adults, or anybody wanting to make delicious rice. Comes out perfect everytime. Do not use a regular measuring cup, use the one that's provided. If you try to use a reg one it'll come out all wonky. Just follow the directions & 30min later there you go!:)

Exceeded my expectations: easy to use, clean, and makes tasty rice for one or two people. Non-stick rice bowl very easy to clean. I bought this for my son. I am now shopping for a larger version of the Rival for my family to replace my rice cooker with the aluminum clad rice bowl. Haven't used the steamer yet.

Cute color to add personality to kitchen. Cooks rice perfectly. Small size great for small household and/or limited space. Never used steamer so I cannot speak on it but cooker is awesome!

If you cook rice, you can fill at most 4 cups. Otherwise, the cooked rice will be too dry to eat.
