Super fun, old school style beat em up based on River City Ransom. Polished controls and great music make this game a treat and easy to keep on playing.

I have such warm feelings about the hours I spent playing the original NES game, River City Ransom. This game is a direct sequel with amazing replayability. Just like the side-scrolling beat-'em-ups you remember, with difficult bosses and fun upgrades. The audio and voice acting is so much fun, and the theme song gets stuck in your head in the right way. POW!

If you’re a fan of the River City series or a fan of the beat em up genre you will love this game! It’s local co-op, it’s funny, charming characters, great gameplay, and even though it’s on the shorter side, it definitely has replay value. Whether you’re playing solo or playing couch co-op it will unquestionably be an entertaining ride. Highly recommend it!

This game is a fun 1-2 player beat-em-up. You can tell the developers put in a ton of work. There are lots of neat little bells and whistles and things you notice in the nooks and crannies of the game. The physical release also comes with a mini manga-sequence comic featured in game. A Limited Run Games release, it’s a good addition to any collection.

For those who love beat em up games, this is a type of game that not only brings the self-awareness into its story but the game as a whole is incredible. As someone who has play video games for a long time this is one that I recommend for those who enjoy beat em up games.

This game is great, feels like the OG. However graphics have been moved up to par with Switch level. Enjoyable game with old school beat em up feel. Also kinda hard to get this in cartridge format. I rarely see this in this format other than digital.

This game had been on my radar since it was first talked about. I'm a fan of quite a few of the developer, WayForward, and their games. I've also played River City Ransom and enjoy this style of beat-em up game. Except in this game you are rescuing the protagonists of that game as their girlfriend's. As you grab items around the world to fight with you collect money to spend at the shops or dojo's to learn new moves. You can also recruit enemies you have nearly defeated for short times to help you in the game. This game was also at release exclusive to digital and didn't get a physical release until Limited Run Games published it. And with Best Buy pairing with them for distribution on this and a few other titles recently, it's nice to be able to grab this locally. I highly recommend this game if you enjoy co-op beat-em ups.

I recall playing river city ransom as a child and this game reminds me of it. I enjoyed the game and even got my boyfriend to play. I will admit there are stages in the game that have me perplexed, like how do I open doors that have locks.

River City Girls is a fun (if slightly difficult) game in the same “beat em up” genre as it’s predecessor River City Ransom way back on the NES. This limited physical release is a great way to enjoy this game...definitely recommended.

If your a fan of River City Ransom on the Nintendo then this game is for you. The original characters from the NES game are kidnapped and your girlfriends are now the playable characters. Its a fantastic beat em up !!!!!!

Having tons of fun. Limited Run games are the way Nintendo should be doing their games. Manual is included and just makes the whole package even better. These indie games are so much fun... I can't put it down!

Such a fun game, art is beautiful and some really good music. I hope there’s a sequel If you enjoy side scrolling fighters like Scott Pilgrim and Streets of rage than you enjoy this.
