We recently "cut the cord", but needed a way to record shows we receive on channels from our antenna. After looking at all the options in the marketplace, TiVo Roamio was the best fit for me. Especially since there is NO subscription needed. It is extremely easy to operate and it was virtually plug and play. Also, much easier to program than my old Verizon Fios box. This is a MUST for all cord cutters!

I finally found the one OTA unit that can replace Windows Media Center - Tivo's Roamio OTA. I am absolutely thrilled! I still have four tuners, lifetime guide, web access, wow! I was worried that I would not be able to find a suitable replacement for Media Center but the Roamio is way more reliable than using a pc. It truly is a TV appliance. In the settings you can enable sleep mode - and it works. The remote can control my other equipment - nice. The only difficulty was adjusting to terminology like Season Pass. And it would be nice if there was a stop button for recordings. Otherwise I'm lovin it.

I cut the cable and know receive all my tv programming via antenna and streaming devices. This DVR is perfect for OTA programming. Easy to use menu and works great.

I find this product un-user friendly. I know it is is a good product and it will take some time to navigate its system. I have no regrets in my purchase

We made the decision to cut the cord from the high priced cable companies. We purchased the Tivo Roamio OTA, installed a digital antenna and realized we had over 60 free channels avaialble. The Tivo is amazoung. We setup all our network shows to record, which was very easy. The best part is the skip mode. That is totally worth the money we paid. The Tivo has apps for Hulu, Netflix, and many more. Great product.

Fabulous piece of equipment. In use it every day without any problems. i dont keep any of my equipment connected to the internet all the time because of security reasons. however, this tivo needs to connect it to the internet quite often to keep the tv guide updated as it comes over the internet and not over the air. not that much of a problem as it reminds you to do so. great unit other than that.

I recently cut the cord from cable and this Tivo is a must have if you want the ability to record over the air. With an indoor antenna this box found all my local OTA channels. It also has Hulu, Netflix and Amazon video. Highly recommend. No monthly fees from Tivo.

Having owned a TiVo DVR previously this new model felt very comfortable to use. I wish they would include SlingTV as an add on app. But at least they include NetFix and Hulu and a few others that I don't have a need for. I was a little surprised that many of the features had not been updated for some time. It is a solid DVR if you're looking to fire your cable or dish service.

This is a must for people who want to cut the cord on cable and or "The Dish". This device records all of your favorite shows off the air using an over the air antenna. In addition, the great thing about this device is that this allows you to record up to four shows and pause live TV. Wow! I know right? The thing pays off for itself in four to five months and then it's money in your pocket.

So far, so good! Still learning the all the cool things TIVO can do and how to manipulate it all! Really happy but there are concerns - one has to push a ton of buttons to move around and the remote WILL wear out. Need to figure out how to connect shows so when one is over - it will go to the next automatically. Stuff like that. But right now - we are happy.

Wanted a dvr iot cut the cord. Read many posts about dvr’s and have to say this one is worth it. Easy to set up. Easy to use. And no additional fees.

The only thing keeping me from giving the ROAMIO is the fact that instructions and diagrams for setting it up in a configuration that allowed for my desire to use four mini units in my house via a required MoCA network were either non-existent or incorrect. For those moving from a wired commercial cable setup in their home this is an excellent option allowing you to buy the one major Ti VO box such as the ROAMIO and then accessing that box via TiVO mini units set up on the hard cable network in your house. With lots of persistence and some intuition and hours of research on forus I was finally able to figure it out. But what a challenge it was and one that could have been easily solved by better on line instructions on the TiVO web site. By the way I love my TiVo and being free from the tyranny of the fee based commercial cable folks!

I have been using TiVo's for over 10 years and have always found them to be a great product. I have been using them more as DVR than for it's on line apps, most of which require you to pay fees to use. While this unit is for over the air (OTA) recording, I did not cut the cord. I got this because of recording conflicts because of the over lapping issues that I keep running into. A recent take over by Rovi really hurt the TiVo brand when they changed the problem guide source which cause programs the were listed to be recorded on Sunday to be recorded on Monday not to be recorded. Now which the fall premiers of broadcast TV shows coming up it makes me wonder if any of the season passes the I transferred from my other TiVo are going to work. I may have to reset them up but be on t hat Tivo is a good DVR that I would highly recommend to anybody.

Easy set up, great interface to program your shows even with your smart phone

This model of TIVO is only for over the air (OTA) signals. It does a great job paired with a good antenna. I like that you can record up to 4 programs at a time. Also with this model there is no monthly fee for programming guide. Pay once and done!

We cut the cord to satellite TV but the one thing I missed the most was the DVR. We have a bunch of shows we love to watch... but on our schedule, not the Networks' schedule. This was the perfect solution for over-the-air shows. The commercial skipping is second to none! We are using this in our RV!

The only holdback is the remote button location. The most used buttons are not the most covinent location. It is easy to use and works well

Unit was pretty easy to install and relatively user friendly to get started. No HDMI cable was provided. Took a bit of time to figure out how to get the programs I wanted to record set up and then find them to watch later. I'm still finding new options to use. Overall, I think that I made a very good purchase and I'm enjoying more programs at more convenient times.

I wanted a DVR service that didn't have monthly fees so I could work on cutting back my DirecTV satellite service completely to save money each month. This box pulled in more local channels than I knew were available, and it works well. The app is easy to use for scheduling, and this box puts antenna channels in a familiar grid like cable companies.

This device exceeded my expectations! Installation was fast and simple. Be advised that you really need broadband internet service as well as good broadcast TV antenna. Consider a 10db or 20db gain amplifier if you live in a fringe area. Activation was a bit of a speed bump, but I was prepared for aggravation from reading other customer reviews. To activate, you need to contact Tivo to activate when buying from retailers. NOTE:be sure about your serial numbers - mine were hard to read w/o a magnifying glass. After installation, I was able to watch and record free major network broadcasts over the air, and streaming the cable network programs I want to watch, I enjoy one button commercial-skipping through recorded programs. Even with a few streaming subscriptions it's a lot cheaper than cable. There is no monthly fee for Tivo services. My only disappointment is that I cannot add streaming services to the ones preinstalled on the Tivo.
