Bought this for my crazy gamer son. He just had to have it. He said it’s one of the best gaming mouses to get on a budget which I thought was funny. Anyway he absolutely loves the thing. He says he can do things so much faster than he could Before. Definitely recommend.

When it comes to productivity, wireless mice are commonplace. When it comes to gaming, wired has always been the way to go. Using the new ROCCAT Kone Air PRO the last week, I can say that line is now blurred for me. I’ve used this mouse for both work and gaming, and it never left me wanting to change it for something else. The first thing you notice is how light it is. Yes, it’s that light! It’s almost funny, how light it is, it takes a second to comprehend. The heat treated glass slides on the bottom allow the mouse to glide effortlessly across your desk, the travel is some of the smoothest I’ve ever felt on a mouse. The design can be seen as boring, especially when compared to other high end gaming mice, but I think that’s what sets this one apart the most. It doesn’t seem to care about looks, and when you use it, you soon appreciate that. Other mice go crazy with the ergonomics and button placements and how many curves and angles they can mold in, this one goes the opposite way. I’m usually a palm heavy mouse user, and some mice require you to learn how to hold them to be effective. Not this one. The plain, understated design according to ROCCAT is based on years of feedback. It just feels, natural. You can connect wirelessly using Bluetooth or the supplied 2.4Ghz dongle, and wired by way of the included charging USB-C cable. Shout out to the cable as well, it’s so soft its like a shoe string. Now normally I would connect using the 2.4 dongle, and I did so I could A/B test it against the Bluetooth, and I’m not going to lie, the Bluetooth feels snappier to me. 2.4 usually has less latency, and is the more desired connection when going wireless, especially for gaming. But in my use, the Bluetooth is just awesome. Super responsive, super snappy. The real star of the show here, are the mechanical switch buttons. The clicks on this mouse are so satisfying. The left and right buttons do have some travel, but when they click, its accurate and the feedback is great. It feels like using a nice mechanical keyboard. And the click wheel is one of the best I’ve ever used. The accuracy and feedback it gives is just amazing. Battery life has been a non issue for my use. They state something like 100 hours per charge, and all I can say is that I charged it once, and that’s it. After all my use, the battery level is still hovering around 90%. And even when you get down to needing a charge, just plug in the cable and charge up while continuing to use the mouse. The software from ROCCAT is ok, nothing great, but serviceable. You can download new firmware, which mine needed right away. You can configure the RGB lighting style, which is nice but nothing special, just two LEDS, one under each button, that really just flicker/fade or stay solid. You’re not getting this mouse for its RGB capability, I’ll say that. You can dial in the sensitivity and save across 5 different onboard profiles, so depending on what you’re doing or what game you’re playing, you can instantly get to the profile that meets the need. The profile is on the bottom, so while not ideal, not a huge problem. You can also store the 2.4Ghz dongle in the bottom of the mouse, which is super useful. I do wish they included a DPI switcher on the mouse itself, for those times you want to dial up or down in real time, instead of having to change profiles, but that’s about the only negative I have. Overall, this mouse surprised me with how light and “boring” its design were, that in practice, for both productivity and gaming, really shine and will have you wanting to keep this as your primary mouse for everything!

If you are looking for a versatile gaming mouse you have come to the right product – the ROCCAT Kone Pro Air has made me a believer in wireless peripheral capability, after being an avid wired mouse user for many years! Out of the box I already liked the look and feel of the Kone Pro Air, I have owned heavier wired mice in the past, and I think my overall preference has changed to appreciate a lighter device given the multiple uses I now have for it. It is very lightweight and moves smoothly across my desk, effortlessly. From an ergonomic standpoint I was initially worried my larger hands would not get used to the Kone Pro Air, but I was very pleased after a full day of both work and gaming to feel no soreness in my wrist or hands, so big win for me there. I like the 3 options for connectivity: wired (with included braided cord), Bluetooth and 2.4ghz wireless. I can use this on my gaming PC and then transition easily over to my workstation using Bluetooth, fast and simple. The next huge win for me is this battery life!! Impressive!! Out of the box the Kone Pro Air already had 90% charge and once I had downloaded the swarm software and updated the mouse firmware I was rearing to go. ROCCAT boasts 100 hours of battery life on a full charge, and I firmly believe them, this thing uses minimal energy to provide precise movement and tactile response from gaming to regular productivity work! I really enjoy not having to worry about docking this mouse on a charging station every day after I am finished with it, and even just a quick charge gives you a couple hours of use, if you ever get to the end of the battery life! The braided cord is so light and flexible you really don’t even notice it is there if you are connected, again very impressive. The SWARM software is functional, easy to use and offers some great default settings for button configs, and DPI settings. I liked the DPI calibration feature, but I am not entirely sure it gave me the right setting recommendation up front as I had to adjust it manually. I always enjoy well thought RGB lighting features and although the feature on the Kone Pro Air is only in the two main buttons it is still very slick and stylish within my current gaming setup. I don’t use macro’s as much as have in the past but it was nice to see some preset’s to help beginners get into macro usage for some of the main stream games out there. Button click is smooth though still has the mechanical feel, very satisfying. The Titan wheel is something new to me, all metal and essentially like a spoked wheel. It seems slightly more rigid than I normally prefer for scrolling but it is minor. I really just think the design of the wheel is something to see as most mice I have owned have been solid one-piece enclosures with rubber grip. The Titan wheel does have good performance and feel overall and I don’t feel myself missing a the rubber grips of yore. I think ROCCAT has come up with a well-designed product in the Kone Pro Air and I am super happy to have it, from setting up profiles for FPS, MMO or RTS games to working with day to day applications for my job all with smooth clicks and superb comfort in my hand and wrist. Couldn’t be happier with this mouse!!

This mouse feels amazing in the hand. At least for my medium hand with palm grip. The switches are a little weird because they're optical. But I don't have any issues with the Razer optical switches feel wise. Either way, the switch feel is something that can be gotten in to.

Works great, and has many connectivity options so I don't have to stress over dongles all the time. I highly recommend it.

This is an extremely light weight mouse with excellent ergonomics that supports a wide range of common grips people use such as palm, fingertip, or claw. It is made for right-handed use with a smooth texture-less feel. Roccat uses mechanical switches on this mouse which results in a very satisfying “click” feel and sound. There is an RGB zone beneath each primary button, with a honeycomb pattern that can be seen through the translucent plastic. Setup is as simple as inserting the dongle into an available USB-A port then downloading the Swarm software from Roccat's website. You’ll need to use the provided USB-A to USB-C cable in order to update the firmware. I will take this moment to comment on the fact that I think it’s about time that mice and keyboard dongles use USB-C as well. There’s also a nifty spot to store the dongle on the bottom of the mouse when it’s not in use. With the Swarm software, you can adjust many options such as DPI levels (DPI button is on the bottom of the mouse), scrolling speed, double-click speed, reassign buttons and even advanced settings such as polling rate. Of course you can also update the RGB settings, but I just leave them on AI or automatic mode. And you can adjust all of this and save your settings in up to 5 different on-board profiles. There’s more options in Swarm than in other brand’s software that I use which is typically limited to button reassignment and RGB. The battery life on this mouse is claimed to be 100+ hours. It’s been “on” for a week now and the battery status in Swarm still says 90% charged so that claim is probably accurate. It also supports fast charging which will get you back into gaming quickly if it does lose all charge. As light as it is, I’m impressed there is a battery that holds this much juice inside. I enjoyed playing some fast-paced shooters on my such as Doom Eternal and Fortnite. Things were fluid and I never experienced a dropped signal or laggy movement. I’m using the Bluetooth feature with a tablet that sits near my gaming monitor so I can check email or look up something while a Fortnite match is loading.
