It works really good if you hear a lot of background noise I’m not sure how to customize it yet still working with it

The Roccat Torch is a really solid mic at this price point. The features lists on the product page is comprehensive enough so I’ll focus on other aspects of the mic you may not see. PROS: -Great sound quality at $100 -Huge volume range handling without distortion -No software/special drivers needed CONS: -Not as clear as Blue Yeti or Wave:3 (it is less expensive though) -Proprietary USB-C cable from base to microphone -No High-Pass filter (HPF) so bumping the table get's picked up by the mic IMPORTANT AND SPECIAL FEATURES: The dual-condenser mic array inside has a fairly wide pickup pattern. This means you can move your head from side to side and still get picked up for the stream. Cardioid mode helps put the audio focus towards the center and help with reducing some background noise, while stereo mode is very open to everything in the room. You can change pickup patterns on the base itself, allowing you to make quick and easy adjustments. The RGB color changes with the mode you select and cannot be customized at the time of this review. Purple is stereo mode, greenish/yellow is Cardioid mode, and Blue is Whisper Mode. Whisper mode is AMAZING. It allows you to talk quietly (good for night time streamers) and still get picked up well by the mic. No more viewers complaining they can barely hear you! The mic also has it's own version of clip guard built in. This means you can yell and the mic does a great job of eliminating distortion by automatically reducing gain/sensitivity. There is also a proximity sensor on the top of the mic, which allows you to mute the mic without actually touching it. This means no pop/bump during your stream because you’re hitting or touching the mic. Touch free means a silent mute! These features are HUGE for streamers. Having good sound quality that allows you to have a large range of volume allows you to focus more on entertaining/recording and less on constant audio tweaks. Your viewers and listeners will appreciate this. SOUND QUALITY: If you kept your voice at the same loudness and your mouth at the same distance at all times, the Blue Yeti will provide a slighter better sounding output. The Yeti is capped at 16 bit, whereas this mic (Torch) supports 24 bit. This means the Torch signal is cleaner even though it doesn't sound quite as open as the Yeti. Where the Yeti falters though is voice loudness changes. If you occasionally yell/get really loud on your stream, the Yeti will distort a bit and frankly not sound too great on a live stream. The only fix to this is to reduce gain then add compressors in your streaming/post production software to boost your voice output when things are more calm. With the Torch, just set your gain to a good volume for normal talking then there’s nothing else to do! FINISHING YOUR SETUP: The mic is detachable from the base and supports 3/8” 16 mic-booms. Roccat includes a secondary 6’ long (proprietary) USB-C cable to go from the base to the mic should it be mounted on an arm, which is nice. The Torch also has an integrated pop-filter which, while not completely perfect, does a great job of eliminated 95% of the pops from a normal stream. Most mics at this price point do not offer any kind of pop filter, requiring yet another purchase and expense for your stream setup. Because this mic does not have any software, I would consider using a Noise Gate and HPF in your streaming software to give this mic that final extra edge it needs to be perfect for streaming and podcast work. FINAL THOUGHTS: At the end of the day, this mic is amazing for $100. It doesn’t require any software or special drivers to use. Simply pick your mode, adjust the gain, and position accordingly. For a new streamer or someone on a budget, this is a great option to consider and it works incredibly well!

I just bought this and picked it up on Friday!! I really like that the lights working and tells you what the gain level is with the lights. The no touch mute is great and no I can tell if I am muted or not. I do also have the Yeti Blue and hitting the mute button was a little hassle. I streamed using the Torch over the weekend and I like the sound. For under 100 dollars you can go wrong!!!

Beautiful mic. It's pretty big! I love the controls right in the base. It's only USB connected not 3.5. The gesture features are a must! I wish best buy offered a additional warrant for it but they don't.

I like this microphone a lot, even if it is via usb and the audio cables. I haven't had a complain from people not being able to hear me. Instead people have told me they hear everything that I am doing. A cool feature I like is on top of the mic move a finger or light tap it and it mute automatically. I mostly use it for games like steam including vrchat. Thank you for reading!

Works really well and has just the right amount of adjustment tools on it to make it extremely handy to use for different styles of recording. I was blown away between the great features and the manual even includes setup for using it as a boom mic if you have an arm stand
