First off, I have never heard of Roccat before. So I did some research and learned that Turtle Beach had purchased the company. So that's a fun fact.
First off, the keyboard's build quality is impressive. The brushed aluminum looks great and the RGB colors are always welcome.
The first thing you will most likely notice is the fact that it's missing a numpad keyboard. It's what gives it it's smaller size. For those of you gamer/accountants, this will hamper you work life a bit.
I've only heard of mechanical keys at this point, so it was interesting to see what optical keys would feel like. My first impression was that it was a bit weird.
The keys on the keyboard are spaced nicely. This allows for less input mistakes during gameplay without it being too far apart where you may get a finger cramp during a match.
It comes with a detachable USB C to A cable. for even more portability. Roccat is really pushing this as a tournament level portable keyboard for pros and people who want to carry their keyboards without the extra bulk.
The audio knob seems kinda gimmicky to me, but it's there, so for those that want to use it, it's there.
Now for the actual test, I decided to try the keyboard out with a FPS, a survival horror game, and one of my favorite real time strategy games from yesteryear.
For the survival horror game and the real time strategy, it worked well. The keys are recessed in a way where they're comfortable to press repeatedly. I can't say for sure if optical keys are in fact faster than mechanical.
The real test came with the FPS. For this game, fast twitch response is paramount. The keys responded well to my frantic repetitive key pressing. As mentioned earlier, the first time I tried out the keyboard it felt a little weird. After using them for about 2 hours, it felt like using a mechanical keyboard. I will say that after a while I did notice a slight difference in response. It wasn't a big difference, but in competition, the slightest advantage may help you win.
All in all, this is a great looking, great feeling, and great responsive keyboard from Roccat.

Excellent keyboard. Very original design. Beautiful, sleek and elegant. Very satisfying keys and noticeably responsive over past titan switches. Best Buys customer service is much better than Roccats as far as the warranty goes so go through them.

Well built, low-profile, and the switches feel closer to mechanical than optical while still being quiet

This is a flawless keyboard, the only gripe I have with it is that it doesnt have a numpad, but since they have a version with a numpad, it’s just a matter of preference

I LOVE Love love, this keyboard! It’s quite simply awesome, in every respect.
First off, this Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro Compact Gaming Keyboard is amazing to look at. Sleek, stylish, with clean lines, and the brushed metallic look to the keyboard’s surface gives it a strong and edgy appearance, very much what the gamer in me appreciates. And being more compact, it’s just the right size for me. (I’ve never had any use for the number pads on keyboards. Though there is another version of this Roccat gaming keyboard, that does have the number pad included; for those who may have need of this feature.)
I’ve used many, many different keyboards - both regular basic ones, wired and wireless; as well as, a variety of gaming keyboards from known and favored brands. Though I can say with certainty, that this Roccat Vulcan Pro Gaming Keyboard has become one of my all-time favorites. It’s just plain fun to use! It’s features simply add so much more to my gaming experience.
A few features of this amazing Roccat keyboard worth highlighting:
Titan (red) Optical Switches*
Fingertip shaped keycaps
Volume control knob right on the keyboard itself
Arrow keys well-spaced for comfort and accuracy during gaming
Detachable (replaceable) flexible braided USB-C cable
Compact keyboard design to take up less room on your desk
Large rectangular ‘feet’ on bottom of keyboard for greater stability
(*Now, I will say there was a noticeable difference in the speed and responsiveness, the precision of my typing on this keyboard, because of those Titan Optical Switches. Plus, the ‘clickety-clack’ sound is great!)
For optimal overall performance and to make use of all the other features this Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro Compact Gaming Keyboard has to offer, you will need to install the Swarm software suite onto your gaming laptop or desktop computer.
Features of the Roccat Swarm gaming software I found the most fun, and useful:
There are 5 Game Slot Profiles you can create, to set-up and manage macros
Sound Feedback - my favorite is ‘Typewriter’, but ‘Beam’ and ‘Sci-Fi’ were also cool, and you can adjust their sound volume, too
Key Assignment
Key Illumination - my favorites are ‘Wave’ and ‘Ripple’, and you can also set the light’s speed and brightness
The cost of this Roccat Vulcan TKL Pro Compact Gaming Keyboard is decent, comparable to other keyboards of this same quality and level of performance. This keyboard is a welcome addition to my gamer arsenal, and truly does make my gaming experience even more fun. Highly, highly recommend!

I’ve had this keyboard for a few days now. I’m glad I did not review it right away and gave it a little time. It’s taken a little getting used to, but I am starting to love it. Now aesthetically speaking, I loved it the first moment I laid my eyes on it. The back lighting is gorgeous. There are numerous options for various lighting patterns. The design of the board overall is sleek and beautiful.
When I first started using my ROCCAT I had some mixed feelings. Now I loved the feel and sound of the keys. I’m no keyboard geek but I have had several nice keyboards in the past. These keys may be my favorite I have ever struck. Something so satisfying about the mechanical feel of these keys. But there was something off. I kept hitting the wrong keys for some reason when I first started typing. Now I’m guessing this was just a byproduct of the particular keyboard I was using before, but regardless it did take several hours of use to really feel comfortable. Now I absolutely love it.
I like how it’s much smaller too than what I am used to. I thought I was really going to miss having a numeric keyboard but I’m fine with that now. Trading the rare use I would get out of that for a smaller device has been a win/win. I also like that even though this keyboard is a bit stripped down they kept a nice volume control and mute button. The software that supports its features is well designed and easy to use. Some of the sound effects are fun as are the various lighting options.
All in all I have to say I love this keyboard. Great look, responsive keys, fun customization options. A really solid gaming keyboard that I would definitely recommend to a friend.

This keyboard was purchased for my husband after extensive research netted an overall positive review from all sources. The keyboard functionality is fine, and overall it is a nice keyboard, but it left him wanting a bit more. He was missing the ability to adjust/customize the light patterns on the keyboard to his taste. AT the end of the day, the keyboard was replaced with another brand that provided the wider range of customization he was missing with this keyboard.

I love keyboards, currently I am typing on a beautiful Corsair that is beautiful and cost me a lot at Best Buy.
Then comes this new ROCCAT, which is compact but still a very nice size so as not to be too cramped. The corsair that is my go to (or was) keyboard is big and has very loud clicky keys. This Roccat feels so much better and so much easier less loud. It is so thin, but feels like a very well made keyboard that is deserving of its price point. Wow.
The colors are obviously beautiful. But again, its the Titan switches that I want to talk about. They are perfect.
Obviously its all in individual taste and I am sure some of you have gone into best buy and got to test out the keys to see if you prefer the browns or cherry keys or something in between but man this keys are just right.
Bye Bye my beautiful corsair white, and welcome to my #1 spot ROCCAT Vulcan Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with your pretty colors and excellent tactile feel that you provide!

I really like that this is made with a very premium feel. It has a brushed steel base with excellent keys that have very precise travel. I like that the keys have a slight Lenovo smile shaped key feel to them. The unique feeal of this keyboard is that the key is just the top plate leaving the RGB room to glow evenly which is a great touch. Like others it has a USB-C to USB-A cable. I like the response of this for a wired keyboard but wish this was wireless as it would just look better on the desk to not see the cable. I feel this is definetly better than the Logitech G series and Corsair options I have.
Con: Wish they had a full size addition that can detach. This would be great as my rig serves a dual purpose of business by day and gaming by night.

I usually do not like keyboards without a number pad, but I was incredibly surprised how much I enjoy this one.
The RGB options are great, but I've kept it on the AIMO lighting and it's super cute. The keystrokes are loud clicks but I like to hear these because they have a slightly different sound than a Razer keyboard or a Logitech.
One thing I'd like to point out is I have a lot of accidental key presses because the activation for the keys are very very minimal. Once you get use to it, it's really nice for long sessions of typing.
I absolutely LOVE the metal volume knob and the quick mute button. It has been a life saver during lectures and group chats.
I love this keyboard, it doesn't feel cramped, and fits in a small area.
