    I have a Panamax MR4300 in my main Theater Room, but I wanted something less expensive for my Living Room setup. On paper and physically this Protector was perfect for my needs and looked nice (like a cable box) on my entertainment center. HOWEVER, upon connecting, it emitted an annoying buzzing noise which was audible 9 feet away! The noise started even before I had connected any of my electronics to it. It even buzzed if I turned off the main power (silver button) on the unit itself. None of my other surge protectors and power conditioners make noises. It's a shame Best Buy discontinued the Panamax MR4000 series, off to look for something else.

    This is the second one I purchased. I needed to replace a much older surge strip a few months back. Tried one of these on a whim. Loved it. It is more space efficient when mounted on a vertical surface than the traditional 12 outlet.
