Maybe it helped that they had to kill everyone off (BTW it's not a spoiler because non of the characters are in the the first movie - IV). But this is the first Star Wars movie since the first three that I actually cared about the characters. Makes for a much more compelling viewing experience when you care what becomes of the characters!

The different settings in the movie look amazing. I honestly liked this film better than the force awakens, yes there isn't much character development but this movie is supposed to have a more meaningful story of the sacrifices the characters made leading to the events of the original trilogy. 3 copies of the movie, can't get any better than that

As the first standalone movie in the Star Wars universe, this movie had a lot of expectations to live up to. It does not disappoint. Although the characters aren't as compelling as the classic ones, the story moves along quickly and is very engaging. The last 10 minutes of the movie are total fan service and set the stage for A New Hope very well.

One of the best Star Wars spin-offs telling of how the Rebels got the Death Star plans seen in A New Hope, the original Star Wars movie!

This is basically Star Wars III.5 leading into Star Wars IV without much of a gap in the story. Featuring a number of iconic stars leaving their mark in the SW universe (like the Harry Potter films), this was a most enjoyable addition with interesting characters - including my new favorite droid - and plenty of action. Highly recommended for all.

An excellent prequel to Episode 4 "A New Hope". The storyline fits the following original trilogy in action, characters and tone. This is a "dark" movie in tone and lack of light and color for the first two-thirds of the movie. That is the reason I bought the blu-ray... to see some of the detail missed in a dark theatre. I enjoyed this movie not knowing which characters were on which side and factions within the rebellion. Also enjoyed seeing the "force" being developed. The screen writer is to be congratulated. With few of the original characters in this movie, I thought this movie does stand up by itself and next to all episodes.

I rather liked the movie - a solid entry, superior the prequels in my opinion. And the Blue Ray Steelbook is jam packed with goodness... Inside the tasteful Steelbook case you have two Blue Ray discs - (Movie and Bonus Features), a 3D Blu Ray disc, a DVD of the feature and the digital copy! Wow-- I would definitely recommend picking this up...

C'mon! It's Star Wars! And it's a prequel worth seeing again and again. I was fortunate to see this 4D... awesome experience if you ever get the chance. Now I get to watch anytime. Love the packaging and can't argue the number of options you can view. Love the bonus material too. Always a plus to get behind the scenes. May the Force be with all!

I really enjoyed this movie. I liked it a lot more than "The Force Awakens". I would say it's my favorite Star Wars movie outside of the original three (and I may have it higher than "Return of the Jedi"). Only disappointing thing is that with all the rewrites and reshoots there were no deleted scenes in the bonus features. Still, really awesome!

Rogue One is a phenomenal film that if you love the Star Wars series, you will love this as well. It answers the question many Star Wars fans have asked regarding what happened before Episode IV. Regarding the product itself, this is the basic DVD - no special features and such. Those are only available on the Blue Ray and other special versions.

I saw this in the theater in 3D and insisted on getting it in that format when it was released and glad i could do so without having to wait 9 months or whatever it was for the 3D version of The Force Awakens. I haven't even looked at the collectible stuff that came with it; I wish they'd just release a 3D version without ALL the extra garbage :/

First Rogue One is a great movie that stays away from the Jedi based series. It's good to see a Star Wars film that isn't so Jedi driven. Now this steelbook is a BestBuy exclusive and very hard to find. It's sold out just about everywhere so owning this set is really special. Besides the Target exclusive this is the only way to own the 3D version

Loved this movie in the theater, saw it 3 times at least! Great & clever story telling to explain how the first 3 Star Wars films (4_6) began. I tried to wait it out for a price break (cuz ima cheep skate ;-D) and best I could do was $16 on Black Friday week otherwise you're gonna drop $25+ for this but it is definitely worth it!

Great segue into Episode 4, Initially watched in theater shortly after release and was unable to get back again. . Second viewing helped me put some of the pieces together, got kinda confused during first viewing. The Blu-ray release was worth the wait, would've liked a 4k UHD version though, Maybe the extended release(?} version will have a 4k.

Great movie! Not the typical Star Wars. A bit darker at first, but with the theme of hope it's not the normal doom and gloom Hollywood thinks movies need to be these days. Visuals are fantastic and the characters are well done; there aren't any throw away minor ones. Everyone is built and has a purpose. The final act and Darth Vader are awesome.

I loved this movie in the theaters and couldn't wait for it to come out on Blu-Ray. This is a great package! For me the extra few dollars for the metal case was worth it. The supplements are very well done and entertaining as well. If you are a fan of Star Wars and haven't seen it, this is a must buy! If you have seen it, you already know this!!

At first I was skeptical about this movie,even though the Star Wars franchise is my all time favorite of any entertainment media.But after watching the movie,I was blown away by it.The film is great all around,and I especially enjoyed the last 45 minutes of it,especially the final battle scene.I would definitely recommend anyone to watch this.

This movie is fabulous! Acting is stiff, but who cares! The way the story is perfectly woven into the fabric that is Star Wars is uncanny and explains a lot about a New Hope. Just glad George Lucas is out of the Star wars universe. His best efforts (Episodes 1, 2, and 6---3 was okay) to sink the brand failed. May The Force Be With Disney Always!

Sound on this DVD is awesome, sounds great on my home theater system, my neighbors texted me to turn it down some as it was rattling pics on there wall in the house next door, lol. Who's to figure it was that good, Good action thru out the movie and a few classic characters are back in this movie from the early Star Wars movies. Two thumbs up !
