This ROKU gives you all the benefits which seem most important. Great picture, all the channels, no buffering.

We had a lot of trouble getting Netflix on this device but after talking to someone from Roku, we had no trouble setting it up and now it works great.

I've owned and/or set up a variety of streaming players and have found Roku to be one of the easier ones to use. Introducing it to your TV for the first time requires online access from another device. Just be sure to scroll through the pages top to bottom to find all required menu options (a frustrating oversight with the very first one I set up). I have had a problem with other-brand players overheating and freezing, but no such issue with the Roku so far.

I have an older Plasma screen in the bedroom which had no HDMI input. So I purchased Roku 1 as it enabled connectivity by composite cables. Am pretty happy with it, especially compared to the WD Live which I replaced it with. It's far more stable, only negatives are that the WD Live played almost all video formats, where is the Roku are limited to mp4 and MKV. Additionally you cannot see the video you are fast forwarding or rewinding, so it's kind of a guessing game to know how far you are advancing. None the less a much more reliable media player all round!

I have a newer Roku but needed one of the older versions to fit with an old TV that didn't have a HDMI outlet. This works great. If you try to compare it to a newer version you will be disappointed but this one does exactly what it's supposed to do. No issues at all. But..If I didn't have an older TV without an HDMI outlet I would buy a newer version for sure.

It's has been great for our TV less used in the house. Simple to use. Only con is that the Roku 1 is line-of-sight for using the remote.

I LOVE the Roku. I use it with Hulu and Netflix, and have significantly downgraded my cable, with a significant savings. With the help of the Roku, we are able to stream TV shows that we truly missed, and I love that. Since this is the first streaming media player I have owned, I would say this is a good player for a beginner. Easy to use. I have one TV that is the old, big box style, and the Roku 1 works well with that TV.

I've had several Roku players and they are very easy to set up and use and it gives you access to many free and paid streaming options.

It does its job what it is made for. easy to use and great performance. Con: only wifi option. Better if it have ethernet input as well.

Very easy to use, works great! Has great series, plus a lot of movies available. Installed it at my mom house and she loves it.

I love Roku!!! With Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime on it, plus the ability to rent blockbuster movies on demand... I don't need cable or regular tv... although both are options. Theres also Pandora and Radiio. Something I really love though is the ability to get GodTV, Daystar, International House of Prayer, and Livestream... because my church is on livestream. That's my favorite thing about this box!!!

Roku-1 allows you to plug into older flat screen TV's. Now I can enjoy Netflicks and other streaming services. It works great.

I bought this to use with an older TV that doesn't have an HDMI connector. It works great. Very pleased with the purchase.

This is the 3rd Roku we've bought. Its great for streaming; small enough it doesn't take up much room; and easy to use!

Great product. I have this and chromecast and love both but I tend to use the roku box more since it has a lot more "channels" currently than chromecast. It was super simple to set up and log into my netflix and hulu plus accounts the browser is intuitive and the free smart phone app for the remote works like a dream. My only complaints about this product is that it doesnt have a built in web browser which is not really to big of a deal and that you are not able to synch your phone or laptop to stream to the device like you can with chromecast, and that the remote does need a direct line of sight to the box but you can get around that if you use the smart phone remote app. other than that it's a great device for under $50 and has saved me hundreds a month on my cable bill. Anyone looking at streaming vs satellite or cable should definitely give roku a try you wont be dissappointed.

I bought this for my mother who still has a massive non LCD/LED TV. I got the base model of Roku because it has the simple Red/White/yellow connectors. It was easy to setup and teach her how to use it; and boy does she use it. It's an awesome little device for someone with no smart TV or Smart Devices in the house.

It's super easy to set up and use, and I can watch all my shows and get movies from Amazon to rent or buy!

Great solution for people that do not have a smart tv. Was able to stream from all my providers. Easy to use.
