Easy to install and red-white-yellow wires allowed me to hook up to my older style projector.

I was so sick of the high cable bills, I'd talked to a couple people that also bought this and decided to make the switch. I get most of the channels I was watching and nothing I don't want. It's simple in the set-up, it walks you through it. I'm paying so much less. But definitely up your internet speed before getting this!!

I bought the Roku 1 specifically to hook it up with an older tube television in the bedroom so I could watch Netflix, Sling TV and the other apps that I was interested in. While the Roku 1 does noticeably load things a tad bit slower than the Roku 2, it still streams everything perfectly and works very nicely. If you have an older tv as well and want to use it for Netflix, definitely invest in the Roku 1.

Roku1 is the only one that hooks up to older tv's with RCA type plugs(red, yellow, white), so it fits my bedroom tv perfectly. Netflix, Hulu+ setup was easy. I also like the free streaming channels like Crackle for one. There are many more to choose from. Great purchase!

This is a great way to allow a non smart tv function as a newer set. It allows streaming and other, albeit, limited online capabilities. The only down side is most of the free channels are not up to Parr and subscriptions can add up fast. Netflix on this only allows the main account holder to be accessed instead of others linked to the account. Otherwise a cool product.

This older Roku has all of the great channels out there, including the MLB.TV channel for all of you baseball fans (even though you have to buy a subscription to that). It actually works with old A/V inputs and HDMI inputs of you ever upgrade that twenty year old television. Easy interface, too. Great purchase for my parents to finally ever the "smart TV" age.

Purchased this box to get tv without paying for cable. This lacks major channels without buying additional apps. After initial set up navigation and connection can vary. There is a slight learning curve. This works best with older tv boxes but lacks the local channels. Overall use is okay and registration. Lots of emails are sent regarding the box and offers.

I use to pay over $100 per month for satellite tv but have sinced replaced that outrageous bill with Netflix, hulu+, and this product. The channel selection for free programming is pretty good. Dont expect a whole bunch of network programming but there are some like history channel and a&e. The installation and registration process is pretty painless. They do require a credit card to be registered in case you want to pay for some of the more premium channels. These channels range in price widely from $3 per year to $8 per month. It is a very nice tool for accessing netflix wirelessly on a non smart tv. I use to use my wii in my bedroom but as i consider this a party and group console it sort of defeated the purpose of it and i dont think the extra play time was very good for it. Overall a wonderful product and I recommend it.

The unit was very easy to install using the HDMI port on my TV. A good feature is that it can also be used on older televisions without an HDMI port by using the RCA type video and audio input cables supplied with the unit. Note that an HDMI cable is not included with the unit and will need to be purchased separately, which adds to the initial cost of using this system. I purchased this unit to access a particular channel which I knew it provided. However many of the channels offered are somewhat obscure of provide only segments of the more popular shows on the more well known channels. I was disappointed that this model does not provide access to Youtube, although the Roku Streamstick does have that access. I contacted Roku service to inquire when it would be available with this model and was told "sometime this year".

Works great and is easy to use. You can also play games on it.

Easy to set up and use great watching streaming on our big screen

Was in the market for an inexpensive streaming player to replace an old Sony Media Player that was also backwards compatible w/ the old RCA connections. Decided to go w/ Roku 1 and was not disappointed. The setup was simple & quick. The user interface & performance is much better than what I was using before. Much better value than an Apple TV.

Works wonderfully!!! Any TV that is not a smart TV should have this!!! I have 5 TV's in my house and only one of is a "smart TV" and I wanted to have access to Netflix and other movie apps in my bedroom. I didn't want to spend big $$$ on a smart TV for the bedroom, so I got this. LOVE IT! I plan on buying one for every TV in the house.
