Works great - easy to use and has lot of different apps

My wife and I had debated for many months the value of our cable which we were not watching. At all. So we looked into streaming video devices for a long time. Time and again, the Roku came up as one of the better products. We finally made the switch, cancelled our cable, and went streaming only. I will admit we had a bit of a rough start. The Roku had trouble reading other subscription site apps until we looked up some FAQs and found a common problem. We learned how to soft reboot the device which fixed the app loading issues and, since then, have had clear, continuous streaming since. So far, no buffering delays or other hang ups with the system. We can find most of the shows we want to watch either on Netflix or by using the digital antenna for local stations. The device itself is easy to use and, especially after the soft reboot, runs smoothly and quickly. If you are thinking of making the leap away from cable to streaming, the Roku 2 is an excellent choice.

Access to so many channels, crystal clear, and fast

We have not had cable for 3 years and enjoy having hull and netflix on our TV that does not yet have the capability like the newer ones. There was a specific website we purchased this device to watch videos with and love it. I also love that if I miss certain channels I can rent them monthly one or 2 cheaper than cable.

I owned a Roku 1 wireless device and it worked great when it worked. The wireless signal was just not strong enough for my apartment so I bought this model to connect directly to my router with an Ethernet cable. Seems to do the trick!

I've been a fan of Roku since the first boxes. This lightweight, easy to set up device streams beautifully and has both HDMI and traditional R,W, and Y inputs for older devices. My favorite part is that you can put in headphones and attach them to the remote, which makes watching TV/movies while on a treadmill simple!

This is an easy system to setup and it works great!

Never had a Roku/STB, so bought this one to see if my daily switch of sources could be better. And how they are !! Setup is a breeze, interface is nice, it has many many apps (I use it mainly for Hulu and Netflix), including some with free content. It's super small and sits nice and comfortable over my hack - this little thing is a beauty. I also downloaded the Smartphone (Android/iOS) App, so I can use my phone to type in when I need to search or something - it's super easy and helps a lot, as nobody got time for typing using the "up,up,left,left,enter,down,down,right" kind of thing you would do using the remote - i.e. "smartTvs" typing :P No complains here Roku 3 is great! Recommended !!!

The device itself is fine, aesthetically pleasing and simple to mount behind a tv or in somewhere hidden. However the remote is poor, has to be in line of site and has weird travel on the keys. The UI is laggy at times and even on excellent Internet it hangs on occasion. Maybe look at the Roku 3 and it's far superior remote.

Roku is still the top streaming device available, simpler to use than other streamers. I recommend the new Roku 2 over the new 3 if you don't need the voice search features, they are otherwise equivalent.

For not a lot more than a Roku stick this has better performance much less input lag. Only difference between this and the Roku3 is the remote functions. Most of which I don't need. lots of channels to pick from even if you don't have cable like me. Way better system than the streaming functions on my "smart TV".

I've been looking for a media player that would do a good job with different types of media and a variety of streaming services. Specifically, I wanted a device that worked well with a Plex server. The Roku 2 works great and set up was very easy. I like using the Roku remote app on my iPhone - works just fine.

works well for watching movies and shows from Netflix, hulu+, and amazon prime. it never looses connection. many other streaming methods as well I imagine we only use about 10% of its capabilities.

great to have all the same channels as the Roku stick. The speed processor is faster. The new remote remote is not wifi direct, so make sure that your pointing the remote at the TV. The remote on a smartphone with the app makes it much better than the actual remote. It is great for universal search. One complaint I have is that you can't leave the music app and have the music still playing the background.

I use the Roku 2 with an HDMI switch that feeds two HD Televisions. Periodically when I turn on the second unit the ROKU 2 video changes to a purple screen that says HDCP Unauthorised. Content disabled. This is a documented problem with the device that sometimes requires resetting the device. Other than the above issue, the device is great; I love streaming my Amazon and other services through it!

This is by far the best media player on the market. I not only bought it for myself, but for my family members as well. It is mostly used for Netflix, but with the Plex media server that I use on my Synology NAS, I have everything I need to cut the cord. I have turned older LCD TV and even an old tube TV into smart TV's. The next thing I am going to do is put a Roku streaming stick on some older 22" computer LCD/LED monitors for "netflix" stations in the bedrooms for the kids. Roku has an excellent lineup of channels and some rock solid hardware. Like I have said, this is my 4th Roku. Not a single one has had any issues. My oldest one works as well as the newest.

This is a great device for streaming media. It is user friendly and works great.
