I had been reluctant to purchase a Roku because I wasn't sure that we needed it since we used the Blu-Ray player for Netflix. However, the vast number of apps/stations are incredible and this item is well worth the money. I personally enjoy having access to Tune-in radio through the Roku so that I can listen to virtually any radio station through my surround sound. It is super easy to use and I would highly recommend the Roku 2. I didn't need the voice activated controls on the Roku 3, so the 2 was good enough for me. It works great, easy to setup and has so many capabilities that I would never been able to list them all. Have it connected to my network, and can stream music and movies from my my computer.

I have multiple devices in my home theatre capable of streaming. The Roku is the only one to have every app in the universe. And it is simple to use and takes up no space. I chose the Roku 2 so I can use an IR based universal remote.

i read online before i made this purchase and i am glad i did. this player has the most and best quallity apps in the market. its small but powerful. i got the roku 2 because i did not need the voice recognition feature.

I purchased the Roku 2 to replace an older streaming media device. Since getting the Roku 2 I have been very impressed with the speed that it has not only within an app but when switching between apps, with very little load time. The biggest thing for me is the extensive array of available "channels" and services as well as the ability to add "private" channels not listed on the Roku website. This give a lot more options without having to shell out a bunch of money. I haven't used all of the devices capabilities, like the USB input, but everything I have used has been excellent. The reason I didn't give this device 5 stars is that I would prefer a way to turn the device off, without physically unplugging it. The device gets very warm even when it is not in use in what is basically a sleep mode and I don't really like the fact that it is burning electricity (even if it is a relatively small amount) the 20-22 or so hours a day it is just sitting and not doing anything.

The Roku 2 is small and easy to set up and use. There are the basic services like Hulu and Netflix but there are also services/apps that I never heard of but look interesting. I like the Home button on the remote that immediately takes you to the home page on the device.

Roku 2 works just as well as my Roku 3. If you don't need the earphone option that comes with the Roku 3 this is about $40 cheaper. The Roku 2 seems just as fast as my Roku 3. Setup and use is easy.

Roku 2 (2015 model) is very fast. It lacks the fancy remote of the roku 3 but since I use my harmony remote anyway - not a big deal to me. Has all the major channels but the rest of the 2000 channels are pretty much junk that no one is going to watch. My only complaint is that while the interface is very fast and some channels are beautiful (netflix), a lot of the other channels use the cookie cutter template (amazon) and are pretty ugly. They function just fine but not pretty. This has an ethernet port for fast streaming. It also has a USB port for local media but I haven't used that since I use Plex.

Best product to replace cable! Netflix works great on it! Gonna purchase sling TV to get the best out of it! Works fast and easy to setup! Would recommend to anyone wanting to save money!

The latest upgrades to the Roku 2 were much needed and will give the updated Roku 3 a lot of competition! I considered purchasing the Roku 3 but the new Roku 2 meets my needs. It is very fast and the picture quality has improved significantly. If you don't need the voice command or the headset features, purchase the new Roku 2.

The ROKU 2 was easy to set up and to use.Much faster than streaming thru TV or Blu-ray. The main reason I got it was to stream ACORN TV.

Unit easily setup, just change the Input on the TV and follow the screen prompts. Several promotional offers included for Netflix, Hulu, etc. Watched some non-traditional nature shows, bought an episode of a series, TURN: Washington's Spies. Will get more involved Friday, when I have more time. Seems to have more features than Chromecast, which is what I planned to buy, until I read the comparison chart and spoke with a Best Buy Associate, who quickly explained the differences. One real positive is that since it uses AC, it gets a stronger signal, I think. Picking up my wireless off TWC modem/router. Router on first floor, ROKU on second floor, opposite side of the house.

The Roku2 is easy to use, installs and sets up quickly and works flawlessly. If you need a streaming video device, this is a good one.

I thought our family nights watching TV were over. It's impossible to listen to commercials all night. This wonderful gadget got us back! Very easy to install, nice looks if you don't want to hide it. Allow us to get to our Netflix, Amazon and other paid services in no time. Plenty of free channels to explore. The remote is easy to work with.

I had no idea how great this would be. I really like tennis and I can watch so many matches on ESPN 3 live during the majors, like the French Open or Wimbledon, vs. just what is being shown on my cable TV (ESPN2 or the Tennis Channel). And it's al in HD! I can also see those channels (all ESPN channels and the Tennis Channel) now in HD! I use this in my bedroom where I just have straight cable (no HD), so this is really great. Netflix access is awesome too! The Roku 2 is easy and reliable. Well worth the money.

The setup was easy. Finding channels is easy. The device works just the way it's advertised. I wish all products were this good.

I did a lot of research before I decided on the Roku 2 and I'm glad I did. We own Apple products so I was leaning toward Apple TV but we also have an Amazon Prime account so the Amazon player was on the radar as well. The Roku is very user friendly and we're not confined to specific branding like we would have been with Apple or Amazon. There are tons of apps to choose from and it was easy to set up and customize to suit our preferences. We're thinking about getting one for the living room now.

I've got the Roku 3 already, and when I needed another streamer, the choice was easy. This Roku 2 is as fast and smooth as the higher up model, but at lower cost and without the finicky wifi-direct remote. Instead, it has a simple IR remote that works consistently every time. Hardware is great, and with the endless catalog of channels to add, you will fine something you like.

I was able to hook the Roku up and start streaming videos in a matter of just miniutes. Compact and functional.

I upgraded from the original Roku I bought about 4 years ago. The new interface is easy to use with smooth transitions and low lag time between operations. I also own an Apple TV, but I find the Roku has many more options for international customers - multiple third party streaming apps at half the cost of the more popular companies. The video quality is equivalent to the Apple TV and I find the remote is a lot easier to hold and use than the Apple TV.
