I have been extremely happy with my Roku 2. I already have the Roku 1 on an older TV in a spot where the WIFI connection isn't always great. This Roku 2 works perfectly for my bedroom TV, was very simple to connect and start using. Best Buy price was great and I received it the next day after ordering online.

A cousin told me about this product. So glad because the wii we were using to connect ot Netflix broke and we were unable to watch without connecting to a tv which was a pain. It is very easy to use and my husband was able to connect it without much trouble. We even had to get a new box from verizon and there was no issue with it when we made the change, which might be obvious for most but not for the technically challenged like myself.

Perfect Setup, Speed and Picture. Very stable, very fast, not much buffering or picture freezing

I bought this mainly to watch Netflix streaming. I had been using an expensive Sony Blu-ray player with Netflix app. But in July of 2015, it started having issues where the video would freeze from one to five seconds, but audio would continue. This would happen up to a couple dozen times per show. More and more shows became affected, to the point that watching anything was painfully annoying. Plus, the freezing would always occur in the same spot if you watched the show again, or rewound. It would not happen when watching the same episodes via PC or tablet, proving it was not Internet connection. Went to Sony online support, found out NUMEROUS people were experiencing the exact same problem, across multiple Sony models. Most likely it was a firmware issue. But Sony NEVER acknowledged the issue, never even responded to multiple requests for help, nor did they do anything to address it or fix it. I have bought my last Sony product ever, and heartily warn everyone to stay away from Sony products. A company that will not even acknowledge an issue but totally ignores numerous customers does not deserve your business. The Roku has been great. It is SOOO fast compared to the Sony Blu-ray player, even when it was working right; it loads episodes almost immediately. I heartily recommend it. The only issue I have noticed that I don't like is there is no OFF switch even on the remote. It is just supposed to go into stand-by, which sometimes it doesn't, and the light will just flash until the next time you use it. More of an annoyance, so I still give it five stars.

Really a 4.5 star, but didn't want to short change it. Blazing fast, especially compared to my Roku streaming stick. Not much to say - streams well, interface is great, startup/restart is quick. Happy with the purchase. Oh - I really like the USB port. Have watched a ton of content off my external HDD through the Roku Media app. That works really well. Zero lag. Some content isn't "supported" but that's easy enough to change.

I have both the new and old Roku 2, in different rooms in my house. This one is much nicer. The major difference for me is that it allows you to choose which Netflix profile you are watching. This alone makes me consider upgrading the other one to the new Roku 2. It's also faster than the old one and has a smaller remote. Overall, definitely recommend. Only downside is that the remote requires line of sight to Roku.

Easily the best video streaming device I have ever used. Easy to understand interface, no studdering or buffering during playback, and lots of choices for video both free and subscribe. has been updated to contain the same components as the Roku3, just lacking a couple of extra features that are, frankly, not entirely necessary. Will recommend this to anyone who wants to upgrade to a better video streaming device.

The ROKU 2 was better than expected. I was very easy to connect an very easy to use.

The reason I chose this over the other Roku's available was specifically because I was able to hardwire the internet connection. I have all of my streaming devices and game consoles hardwired using powerline adapters so that I have uninterrupted streaming/gaming. It does allow for wireless connection as well. The menu screens are very user-friendly and it has all the apps that I want, namely HBO GO.

Roku was easy to set up, easy to use after set up. The system runs well very fast.

Got a great discount on a refurbished Roku 2 and even at full retail it would be a bargain. Works flawlessly and has a lot more channels than its competition. Would have given it 5 stars but am still not used to the fact (1) that it never really switches off and (2) that you have to get a Roku account even if you never plan to use it.

This Roku 2 was easy to setup. I chose to connect it to my router with a network cable for best performance. Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant, Spotify, and YouTube all work without a hitch. My family enjoys the convenience of the dedicated Netflix button on the remote which starts the Netflix app. You can even cast some content from Android/iOS as you would with Chromecast.

The Roku 2 is fantastic. Fast and reliable. This is my third Roku purchase (I own the older Roku 2 and Roku XS), this new one performs a lot better than those older models. My one complaint is that the remote operates using infrared signals instead of Bluetooth, making you have to point the remote at it to work. Which isn't a huge deal for me, just more inconvenient.

I have a smart TV but the new Roku 2 works a lot better than the internet access from my TV. Picture quality is great and there are many, many choices. One of my favorites is Livestream, it enables me to watch live events and, in many cases, archived concerts and events. Excellent value.

This is my second ROKU, I love it. It is fast, easy to use and set up. I like the remote control as well it is very easy to find wat you want. Very hidh quality product.

I had an XBox 360 that I was only using to watch Internet videos on, but traded it in because that's all I was using it for anymore. I ended up grabbing this as a replacement and am glad I did. I went from barely watching videos on the XBox to using the Roku 2 a few times a week. HBO Go, and the premium stuff like that, that I get for free because of my cable (ATT U-Verse) is really nice as I get to watch pretty much everything that those channels have ever shown. Crackle is nice too as you can watch a few movies for free. If it weren't for Crackle, I would have never known they made a Joe Dirt 2 :D Better than the Chromecast as I don't have to stream from a computer or cell phone. It does 1080p and Dolby, so that is a plus. When you can get it on sale, I would say to definitely check it out, especially for those who are interested in "cutting the cord" from the expensive cable providers. I only with the NHL network wasn't so darn expensive.

I have a modern smart TV with built in Apps like Netflix, etc. So I had trouble seeing why I would need a Roku. But the Roku has so many more apps than my smart TV. And it is faster to maneuver around. I got the "3" because I wanted one that did not require line-of-sight between the unit and the remote. I also like the voice control.

Fast, lots of channel content, easy set up, it just works!
