Goodbye cable! Bought this after I read reviews. I also spoke to a salesman who said the speed factor was worth the upgrade to 2 vs. Roku 1. Couldn't be happier with it. Works great. Fast. Would recommend to anyone.

I got this because although I have an Apple TV and love it, I couldn't get all the apps I needed such as flixster and Google movies. So far, I love the Roku and enjoy the App Store. I went with the Roku 2 bc it's just as fast as the 3, but I don't need the extra bells and whistles of voice search and headphone jack in the remote.

I love my Roku3 which I have had in the living room for a long time. I just bought the Roku2 box for the bedroom and it replaced an early edition of the lowest end Roku box. I now have an LED TV in the bedroom and I find my Roku2 player to be easy to set up and it works great. It is fast and simple. I love it!

I gave my first Roku 2 to my sister and bought this one for me. I have noticed that this one is faster than the first #2 and it works as well as all of my Rokus. This Roku2 was sold as an "improved" product, but they all seem to work great to me. Pleased with my purchase and the price.

Love the high definition streaming and the variety of channels, movies, etc I bought this because I was disappointed in cable and satellite. Monthly payment for Netflix, Hulu etc through Roku is less expensive per month and provides much better content. Very easy set up and easy to use.

The ROKU 2 is compatible with Time Warner with actual bandwidth of 2 to 3.7 MBS (sic). It is extremely easy to install. The only issue is it takes some time to develop habits to navigate between screens (no easy back button) and also volume is controlled with a separate (TV) remote.

I bought this as a replacement for an older Roku that they don't even make anymore and had started to freeze up and have to be restarted a lot. I did a lot of research about a Roku 2, 3, or streaming stick. The research led me to decide on a Roku 2 because really the only difference between a 2 and a 3 is no voice activation and no headphone jack on the remote on the Roku 2. That was no big loss for me. I set up the Roku without even opening the instruction manual. It's just "plug and play" really. The most effort you'll have is putting in your wifi password if you do it wirelessly (it also has an Ethernet port) and setting the screen resolution to 1080p from default 720p. The processor is much faster than what I was used to, and Netflix and YouTube, which took forever to load on my old Roku take about five seconds each on the Roku 2. Buy the Roku 2 and you won't be disappointed. Because there's a Roku 3 and 4 now you can usually find it fairly cheap.

This little box offers multiple streaming options. It is easy to set up and use. The picture clarity is wonderful. My only issue is that occasionally it does take a while for the unit to respond when I push a button on the remote. Overall, I am pleased and would buy it again.

The Roku is a solid streaming device. I haven't tried any others yet because I don't feel that I need to. There are a lot of free channel options available, which really appeals to me as I don't really watch tv all that much. All of the subscription services also seem to be available, and if you don't want to limit your options, you can subscribe to multiple services and still pay far less than you would with satellite or cable. My first one lasted for four years before it died. That doesn't seem like a long time, but that adds up to $1.67 per month for the $80 unit. With Netflix and Amazon Prime (which I just recently added) I'm up to $18.91 per month, not including the internet service that I would be paying for anyway.

This is one of the products that is truly flawless in design and engineering. Easy to install, quickly connected and outstanding in performance. Many hours of enjoyment.

I am really pleased with my purchase. I didnt expect much but the streaming quality is great, very user friendly and easy to navigate and the fact that you can connect multiple accounts such as netflix, youtube, crunchy roll, amazon video and etc without a hassle. Haven't had any issues with it its been so far so good. Plus its good for the price you get.

Our household currently has a Chromecast or Roku in each bedroom and the living room area. For a small price we have been able to leave behind a huge monthly cable bill. The device itself is easy to use, easy to navigate, I have no complaints. Well worth the money.

I only gave 4 stars because sometimes the device gets stuck and it doesn't have a power button/reset button. But overall, this is a great device to have, so much easier to use compared to Google Chromecast where you have to use your phone to operate. This makes it as if all the internet channels are right there with cable channels.

The Roku 2 streaming player was easy to set up and use! Instructions are easy to follow and the player itself is easy to navigate with once in use. The price is well worth the enjoyment it gives. I highly recommend it as a future purchase for buyers.

I've owned most of the other major streaming devices out there and IMHO the Roku is the best. It simply has all the channels that I wanted. The Apple TV does not have Amazon Prime, Vudu, or Plex (although you can stream your own videos via iTunes). The Amazon Fire Stick does not have VUDU. The Roku has them all and then some. It is also more flexible for searching across various channels for movie and TV titles. The Roku 2 is extremely fast (as far as I know, it is the same processor as the Roku 3) and very simple to setup and use. I enthusiastically recommend it.

The Roku family is a perfect example of a simple device that does its job and does it right. No gimmicks and no fancy extras. And the Roku 2 is no exception to this. It works perfectly fine once you get it connected to your network. If you are planning to connect it via WiFi, be ready to change the settings on your router to use TKIP instead of AES given that this device cannot manage other than TKIP. This is a fairly thing to change, but then the router will only be able to manage speeds up to 54 mbps. The Roku will work as expected, but everything else (tablets, XBOX, phones) will suffer. You may need to establish two separate WiFi channels: one for the Roku in slow mode and another for the rest of your toys. But the Roku 2 comes with an Ethernet port too, so if you have an internet node close by, this is your best option. Other than that, the Roku2 is a very good option. And If you look around in Google for channel codes to add, use the Roku.com web page and you'll see your Roku grow to a level you can't imagine. Add a micro memory card for memory expansion and you'll be able to add games and such.

This is my second ROKU device, and I love the large library of apps and services available for streaming. This generation ROKU is fast with no lag. Must have for anyone who is a fan of Netflix, Amazon Prime, VUDU just to mention a few.

Set up was quick and easy. Connects well with my AC750 router in another room. Picture is clear and no lag. Using with an RCA TV. I researched all models and didn't feel the need for the Roku 3 features when this one was 40% less expensive.
