I have a smart Blue Ray Player/Surround sound system; however, I always had issues connecting to the apps. It was slow and froze every now and then and I was not able to utilize apps like Amazon video (prime). Since I bought my Roku, all my problems went away, now I can watch all my apps and it is very fast, no issues, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Researched all the big players, and this one stood out for the value, function, and ease of use. It is easy to use, easy to set up, streams seemlessly, and has access to all the media that I was interested in. It may not be for everyone, it will depend on what type of media you watch (eg which apps you are looking to use). I recommend it highly!

Compact, intuitive controls, and quick. Have had no issues thus far and highly recommend to others.

Got a Roku streaming player for my wife. She can't tear herself away from it. With Netflix and Amazon prime (plus other channels we have yet to access), the options for viewing are almost unlimited. Not only is there a lot available, but you can watch it anytime you want, stop in the middle, and go back to where you were. The only problem is that the menu is so vast that it is sometimes difficult to navigate through it.

I was getting quite tired of paying monthly cable rates when I was mostly watching streaming features through services like Netflix and Amazon by plugging my computer into my TV. I had heard about Roku and finally took a deep breath, bought the Roku 2, and cancelled cable. I added Sling TV for $20 a month. This is terrific. I love the possibilities opened by Roku. I've barely tapped its potential. I love it.

Works great, my daughter loves it. Works much faster than the DVD player. She's so happy.

This device does exactly what you expect it to do and more. Very easy to install and use.

i tried a few different streaming players and none of them had all the different things i needed (netflix vudu etc). this one did. works great. easy setup. tiny and remote doesnt need direct line to work. (you can put it behind your tv if you are trying to hide it.)

I have a slightly long-in-the-tooth smart TV that allowed me to watch Netflix, but it took forever to load via Wi-Fi. I read reviews of the various Roku options and opted for the Roku 2 model, which is pretty much the same as the more expensive 3 but without the earphones. It has made watching not only Netflix but Youtube and numerous other streaming services much, much easier and faster. Great product.

I really wanted to get the new Roku 2 b/c the interface is better and is faster than Roku 1. However I have an old tv in my son's room that doesn't have HDMI connection. I tried one of those AVI2HDMI converters bought off the internet and it didn't work no matter how I tried. So I gave up and bought the Roku 1. It does what it needs to do. You have to aim the remote at the box and there are times when the Roku freezes and I have to restart. Otherwise it's good . I would only recommend if they didn't have an hdmi interface.

Roku 2 (model 4210) works great. Mine is located on the opposite end of the house from my WiFi router and this thing is still very fast. Its also very portable. I can easily move it from TV to TV or even take it with me on trips and stream anywhere I have WiFi.

I wanted a Roku to use with a universal IR remote, so I got the Roku 2. The Roku 3 adds a headphone port to the remote, but I think it sends controls over wi-fi, so it wouldn't work with my universal remote. This unit works great with the universal remote. I have one connected to my router via Ethernet and one connected via wi-fi. The wi-fi connection seems to work as well as the Ethernet.

I like how easy it was to set-up and there are so many channels to search through.

Works great. Does the job. Don't need much, works with wifi, streams what I like.

It worked perfect right out of the box. No issues and have used on 2 TV already.

We inherited a 65" "non-smart" TV. As a stand alone device it was fine but we needed something to access Netflix and other content. This was the most cost effective solution. We read a lot of input before deciding to buy this device and couldn't be happier. The processor speed is great and the available options for content beyond expectations. This device will add years to the 1080P TV!
