I don't intend to watch every channel that is available, so I got this based on only a few. The difference between this and cable is the monthly cost for you to watch they few channels you do watch. The downside of it is, they ask for your provider on things that cost money... so some of what I watch, it's ok. HBO and those channels cost monthly without a provider. Just really look more into what it can and can't do more. Great for me tho!

Great concept, but not happy with the execution. Fan is loud and there is a red "push" in the color. Hopefully a software update will fix these issues as otherwise it is a nice upgrade from my Roku 3!

Very responsive interface and very smooth streaming. I picked this Roku up to offer more 4K streaming optiona and haven't been disappointed. Look and feel is the same as previous Roku versions, but navigation and remote responsiveness seems much smoother IMO. With Netflix, Amazon Prime, M--GO, Ultraflix and VUDU UHD all offering content for Roku 4, this is the most complete streaming device I have been able to find for access to 4k content.

Works great. Upgraded from an older model and love the newer Netflix menu. Easy to connect to Internet.

The new (2016) Roku 4 responded fast to streaming needs. The picture on a 4k tv was clear and crisp. We returned it because it did not offer a guide for the PSVue streaming. If they would add a guide we would rebuy, We liked the ability to use earbuds for silent listening and the multiple streaming choices it gave when searching for something to watch.

It is a Roku - so it does what a Roku does. Bought it for the 4K - wanted to use it with my existing receiver and surround sound. Receiver is too old for the 4K so it goes directly into the new TV. Took the optical digital out into the receiver. OOPS - there is a bug in the ROKU universe as the optical out is not decoding the dts or dolby surround, only stereo. They are working on it. HDMI works fine if one has the proper receiver

I like that a very large number of channels, including entire suits of cable channels (e.g. Spectrum/TimeWarner), are accessible. Picture quality is good. You may have problems using headphones if you don't have good internet. If your router is older, and/or more than one person uses your wireless internet, sound may stutter. You can unplug and replug the headphones, reboot the rounter (tip from Roku), or navigate away and back from your channel to fix the problem - at least temporarily. The box uses a lot of energy - even when you are not watching. Recommend you make use of the auto-power-off or power-off feature (have not tried these: found this information online). .

This device is so conveniently portable -easy to hook from one TV to another TV. I have it for a year now and works as expected!

Works perfect since I got a 4k TV and it works with 4k movies I'm very happy with the way it works

Upgraded to Roku 4 when i got a new 4k UHD TV and I'm glad I did. This model also had an optical digital audio out, easy to hook up to my surround sound system or a sound bar. Roku works great with my Tablo and Sling TV. Remote has Sling TV button and search as well as headphone jack (includes h/p!) to listen via the remote and not have to have TV sound on!

Haad the Roku SE and wanted to upgrade... wow the best product ever. So far no problems with it.

I upgraded my TV to a UHD TV (Samsung) and upgraded to the 4 from the Roku 3. Picture looks great in 4k, about the same as the Roku 3 in other formats. Not much free to view in 4k yet except for a handful of titles in Netflix and Amazon Prime. Tons to buy Pay per view. Only four stars because when switching to another device and back to the Roku, it needs to be unplugged to reboot. Not a big deal, just kind of a hassle.

This roku is great. Watching shows in 4k looks really nice. There is a bunch of shows on Netflix just for the 4k that we watch on our new tv. Have not used the headphone jack to watch anything so can't say anything about that other than it does turn off thr sound to the stereo or tv when they are plugged in. There is all kinds of channels or app's or whatever you want to call them you can put on this device.
