The Roku is not a great buy if you have a smart tv. But it is amazing if you don't.

If you want this thing to run 4K, wait for a new Roku. This does NOT handle 4K properly, especially 10-bit. I picked up two of these and hooked them both up to multiple 4K tvs, multiple 4K cables and approx every 3-5min the screen will tear and flash a purple screen. In reading Google comments about the device, apparently this is a known issue which Roku has no real answer for. I reduced the device down to 1080p and it reduced the flickers significantly, but if I'm just going to run 1080p I'm not going to spend the money on a 4K device. This is going back for a Roku 3 and an Apple TV.

Its just service the perpose, quality is a bit lower end, not ment for long term use

I bought the Roku 4 when I was planning to "cut the cord" and get rid of my satellite service. I ended up keeping the satellite service but am still glad I bought the Roku 4. I've primarily used it for Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon TV. It's very easy to set up, and very easy to use. I could've streamed those services through my Playstation but wanted something a little more dedicated to streaming. (It seemed like every time I wanted to stream something through the Playstation that I had to wait through all sorts of system and application updates.) The Roku doesn't subject me to constant updates and navigating to the desired content seems much more straightforward. I chose the Roku over other options due to the large number of channels it offers. I opted to pay more for the Roku 4 over previous models because I liked the idea of the Remote Finder option as well as the compatibility with 4K TV if I should ever upgrade my TV. The only thing I've found that I don't like is that the remote isn't backlit It's not a huge issue but would be a welcome addition to future incarnations.

It's a nice 4K streaming device for apps that my 4K T.V. Don't have.

I have the Roku 3 and have been very happy with it. When my boyfriend purchased a 4K TV, I bought the Roku 4 for him. We are both very happy with the performance and ease of use. One of the features he enjoys the most is the headphone jack in the remote. That way he can watch TV while I'm sleeping and doesn't have to worry about waking me and vice versa. My favorite feature, and the reason I purchase Roku products over the Amazon Fire, is that the search function searches multiple services for content (e.g., Amazon, Netflix, Hulu), while the Fire only searches for Amazon content. The Roku search also shows pricing for paid content among so you can choose the least expensive option.

Nothing special. No very high definition. The upscaling is no 4k.

This is the worst streamer ever. Get a roku stick or roku 3 instead. Doesn't power on normally - always have to unplug it and reset it. Overheats. If you don't need the 4K get a roku 3... otherwise good luck, you'll need it.

We always "do our homework" (reviews, word of mouth, customer/employee faves, etc.) before making purchases such as these. This is one purchase we HIGHLY regret! It CONSTANTLY has to be RESET before it will power on. Remote KILLS batteries, even when it's hardly used!!!! We basically only watch TV on weekends, sometimes not even then, but when we do we have to RESET the Roku and MORE TIMES than NOT, replace the batteries before the Remote will work. GEEZE!!!!!! One might "ask" why we didn't return it for a refund before the required "refund period" and that is because we were TRYING to give it the benefit of the doubt after coming highly recommended. We had "better luck" with Miracast/Belkin and that's not saying much...UGH! Anyone want to buy a Roku from us?? LOL

Wait until Xbox 4k unit comes out. User interface is meh. Remote is not very good. I try to listen through the built in headphone jack in the remote and audio cuts out repeatedly. They are better options out there. Native smart feature on my TV is way better.

the Roku does nothing that your smart tv or blu ray player does all it gives you is apps that you got to pay for and channels that you got to pay for or get an antenna to see some regular channels oh and ps no power button so it stays on all the time

It worked ok for awhile, picture became really grainy, not sure what was wrong with mine but returned it for something different. Maybe I just got a bad unit? I have a roku 2 and I'm actually using it on a 4k tv and seems to be fine.

It seems as nothing is free any more I have not messed with this since the night I bought it it just wanted me to whip out my credit card

Disappointing, this device is really not worth the money, I'm on the second Roku 4, first Roku 4 the device and the remote lost pairing, Bestbuy replaced, second unit the streamer device needs to be power manually before anything works, when using headphones with remote is nothing but static, if Bestbuy would take it back I would return it in a heart beat, stick with Apple, everything works smoothly. I don't know if buying a second remote would fix the issue and at this point I don't want to invest any more money

We live in an area with slow internet speeds thus I have not been able to get the product working yet. Most likely will have to have the Geek Squad come out and try to get it operational

to register it. As soon as I was prompted to enter a credit card in order to "register" the item, I should have returned it, but I was wanting the features too badly, so I "stuck" it out. Still not working like I want it to (i.e., doesn't allow me to watch videos from a portable hard drive, constantly registering and downloading apps, most of which cost money, etc.). Wouldn't recommend this to anyone!
