Much cheaper than apple tv but functionality is just as good. The only difference is that you can't use apple mirroring, which I never used anyway. It's quick to respond, remote works great, and it has all the apps I need. All in all, 10/10 would buy again (actually I did, I bought a second one for my room and another for my parents)

The Roku Ultra is a great product. For the longest time, I was using the Roku stick, however, my current audio set up didn't allow me to run 7.1 surround sound. The Ultra included a fiber optic digital port that allows me to use my audio system. Also, the Ultra performs way faster than my other Roku sticks. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Fast, great performance, small (space saver), easy to use

Like the ones I purchased and still use, this newer model is good. It replaces a Roku 3 for use with an SuperUHD set. Of course, these days there is a lot of overlap with native smart TV functions on TVs and blu-ray and attached media players like Rokus, but the Roku does some things better such as navigate media files on NAS (DLNA).

I like this Roku because it streams 4k video and provides a wide choice of apps and other content like Netflix and Vudu.

Menu is intuitive and easy to use. no freezes or skips.

Picture quality is excellent. Programs available are never ending. In some situations the sound and picture do not match. This seems to happen when you fast forward the program(s). Have had several occasions when the unit shuts down/starts up repetitively. On the positive side, you can always pick up where you left off. Still exploring what is available and that takes time.

Roku Ultra is by far the best Roku yet. The 4k stream from my Comcast/Xfinity Blast wired network is simply awesome. Finally something I can use on my Sony XBR55X850A to get the most or of its 4k picture function.

I bought this Roku box and subscribed to PlayStation Vue to watch live TV programs. Once you connect your Roku box you will need to search for PlayStation Vue and download the app. Then use your computer to create a PlayStation Vue account and select the TV package that best suits your needs. The picture quality is top notch.

I bought this for my cousin who wants an interface for his projector. This has a very simple interface and is very responsive. My cousin connects it to the projector through HDMI cable and it works perfect. One good feature along with the streaming services it offers is that it supports external hard drives as well..

Upgraded to this unit since I recently purchased a 4K TV. Figured I better get the best picture I can for my investment. It definitely made a difference from my previous Roku 3. Has more options over the last one, not that it matters that much to me. More concerned about picture quality which so far has delivered on that.

Set up takes no time at all. Love the earbuds, great sound quality. Had the Roku stick (another great product) but upgraded for the earbuds. So glad I did. I would highly recommend this product. So much to watch on Roku for free that I cut the cable cord. Another great feature is that I can use computer to make changes!

This is the Roku I hoped for after the not-so-great Roku 4. Better design all around: smaller foot print, no fan, cooler running, auto standby that works, fixed Plex comparability issue with high bit rate videos, upscales 720p sources to 1080p, 1080p sources to 2160p, HDR, and finally better button placement on the remote.

I can easily reccomend the ultra player but the premier plus may be the better option at 79.99. I am upgrading from a roku 3 and the ultra adds a voice search feature which i never use. Sometimes i accidentally press the search button on the remote bc its where the play/pause button usually is (which is now moved to the row below). Activating the voice feature in the middle of watching will take you to the main menu by default rather than pause your program which can be frustrating. The premier+ has all the performance features of the ultra except for the voice command and some other extra inputs such as sd slot, usb and optical. The ultra also has a button on the box in case you lose your remote, your remote will alarm. The ultra is great for home theater use but if you only need an hdmi out then save your 50 bucks and get the premier+ other than that, the ultra player is a great step up for me and is faster than my roku 3, which was no slouch. the only other complaint i have is that the current generation of roku do not support dolby vision, but that may not be an issue for some since dolby vision isn't available on most tv's. But it would've still been nice for those who have dv capability and since the new chromecast ultra has it at much less cost than the ultra.

Researched the Roku because I wanted to have certain apps all in one device. The Roku allows me to use VUDU, YouTube, Amazon, Hulu and Netflix all in one device. The picture is clear and I like the way you set the sound to be medium or high. Overall it's an awesome device. I want a few more for my other TVs.

Easy to use and very smooth menu navigation and remote is awesome

I've had the Roku Stick, Roku 4 and now have 5 Roku Ultra's. They work great. I've also purchased Chrome casts and AppleTV's and by far the best interface is the Roku. Only issue I have is the amount of time it takes to program each app on each Roku. But once it's programed best streaming experience going.

Hands down the best streaming device. I cut the cord 4 years ago. I have two Roku 3s 2 apple tvs and two Roku sticks. Added this Roku ultra to my new Samsung 4K tv and love it. The tv has most of the core apps built in so I almost didn't get this but Roku has apps like FX, fox sports. CNN, foxnews, velocity, Disney, etc that the smart tv doesn't have. The user interface is great. My kids 6&9 have never used cable this is all they know and they love on demand tv which is how all the Roku apps work. We live on Netflix and Hulu and I use a lot of the cable apps mentioned. Roku is vendor agnostic unlike apple. I am a big apple fan but for a streaming device I would recommend a Roku over Apple TV any day. The one thing I do see apple superior over Roku is the mirroring of an iPhone or iPad on your tv. You can easily do that with an Apple TV and ipad or iPhone. Not so easy on a Roku. However I found my self using that feature on the Apple TV for streaming content that the Apple TV didn't have an app for like foxnews, amazon, etc that are all on the Roku
