I have the original Roku & upgraded to the new model for my Bedroom. It was just a matter of time before I had to get one for my Home Office. It just makes using all of my new TV’s Potential effortless and having the earphones stops me from interrupting anyone else in my house! I recommend This Rocu for anyone with a newer TV. Enjoy...

The new Roku Ultra is a worthy upgrade from the Roku 3 if you are looking for 4K and HDR. Be warned that you need a TV that supports HDCP 2.2 to use 4K in the Roku. Even if your TV does support HDCP 2.2, make sure you AVR, HDMI switch, etc, devices in between do too otherwise you will be stuck with 1080p and likely not why you were upgrading. Roku has added the ability to use your Smart Phone as a headphone remote, which is really great. Whatever headphones you have attached to your phone (bluetooth, etc) can now be used while watching Roku. This is a great feature late at night so you don't disturb the family during your TV binge sessions. There is a rather lengthy thread on the Roku forums about the Netflix 4K + HDR issue on the Roku Ultra. They did release a firmware that fixed it somewhat but I'm still not getting 4K + HDR from Netflix app but it works fine on the Amazon app.

The Roku Ultra has been a strong addition to the line up. Compared to the Roku 3 we upgraded from, the interface is faster, and to my surprise, despite using it on the same TV, the picture seems to be improved as well. The remote finder is also a welcomed addition with a 5 year who constantly loses remotes. We mainly upgraded due to moving the 3 to our daughter's room to replace an outdated 2, however I don't know if the difference are enough that we would have upgraded just for the heck of it. For anyone whose never used a Roku, the interface/channel guide is extremely easy to use, and the Channel Store offers apps for most major channels (though many require provider login from a cable company), but also offers a huge amount of channels with excellent free content. Pluto Tv in particular is a MUST for anyone who is using the Roku to officially be cord cutter, as well as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

I have been using Roku boxes for over 6 years, and nothing is better. This is the best model they put out currently, and the setup is fast and seamless. Will work with both 4K Ultra HD and also with the 4K Ultra HD HDR mode, if you have one of the newer model televisions with 4K HDR, which I recommend over the older standard backlit models. (OLED screens are best, but currently considerably more expensive. Over time they will come down in price.) All the major apps are there, and a somewhat upgraded clean menu, quad core processor, runs cooler, and is faster and smoother than the Roku 3/older models. Get yourself a high quality 4K HDR/60 fps compatible HDMI cable with metal contacts on both ends for best connection and clean video/audio. Rocketfish is sold at Best Buy and makes a good HDMI cable for around 30 bucks, so not too bad at all. Get this box! You will not regret it. I didn't.

I had an older version and decided to upgrade this one. I couldn’t be happier with it. I did a lot of research on multiple sites and read reviews and finally just purchased it. The picture is great and I love that all the apps I watch are now on one. I had a friend comment that she couldn’t believe how clear the picture was. I’m thinking she may be gearing towards one...

We bought this Roku box to stream PBS/educational programs for our 3 YO granddaughter. We love being able to bring up PBS programs on demand for her. In retrospect, we probably could have bought the Roku stick but have no regrets with this device. And I love being able to use the Roku app on my smartphone to control the device. Sure beats having yet anther "clicker".

Good device that integrates with all major streaming services. Great 4k + HD performance, and this model also includes an Ethernet port for maximum reliability and data throughput. Remote is RF so the device can be in a closet with no issues. Only gripe is that UI/UX for the apps (HBO/Hulu/Showtime etc.) Are all different and some are really not good. Streaming for all services is great tho.

This is my family's 4th Roku device. We love them. We have had a stick, the second-gen stick, and a Roku TV. We bought a 4K UHD TV and decided to buy in to the 4K streaming with this streaming box. Definitely worth the buy. We have small kids who frequently get their hands on the remote, so the remote finder button on the box is a nice feature for us. We aren't so much into the games available in the store, but it performs well with all the popular streaming apps out there. I did have an issue with a couple of streaming apps bugging out with copyright protection and it turned out to be Roku and the TV not getting along. I did the setup process again on the TV and then on the Roku and all was well. Occasionally, we will see funny stripes of colors as we navigate menus in apps and on the Roku home screen. These are just annoyances I wish Roku could polish out. We never saw them on the streaming stick.

I absolutely love the remote. It is easy to use and has headphone jack to allow you to watch movies without disturbing the whole house. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to get a streaming device that has 4K usability.

I purchased this unit a while back for streaming Netflix, Hulu and HBO Go. This device is quick and responsive and of course has the ability to pass a 4K signal. I also have an Amzon Fire TV, I prefer the Roku over the Fire TV as i have had issues with the Fire TV saying the micro SD card is not present when it always is. I have never had any issues with the Roku, this thing just works.

We love our new Roku Ultra streaming device - it is easy to use, which is a bonus since this is our first time streaming after finally cutting the cable cord. It's very convenient to watch what we want on demand. Roku seems quite versatile in that it works with many streaming services like Hulu, Netflix, Directv Now, Sling TV, etc.

Finally cut the cord from cable tv. This device gives me access to all the programming I require. I subscribe to SlingTV, BritBox and CBS all access. I never miss anything and spend half the money of cable tv. I liked it so much I bought a second unit for the bedroom and I intend to buy one as a Christmas present for a friend.

I received the Ro-Ku Express first with a subscription to Spectrum streaming, it was defective on arrival, sent it back to the company for a replacement, while waiting for replacement I bought a stick and ultra for my 4-K 3D TV, after learning how to operate the unit I am very pleased with the performance of all the products.

I have had Roku's entry level unit and was more than satisfied, I moved up to all 4K equipment so I bought a 4K Roku. I can't even begin to tell you how much pleasure we get from watching all the programming available for free much less the pittance I pay for some selected channels. We saved $128 a month dumping cable.

Have used Apple TV and now Roku. You can’t go wrong with either device. We have been traditionally an Apple products home but purchased this prior to Apple TV releasing 4K capability. Have been 100% happy with the Roku device. Great selection of channels and app support. Remote is better than Apple TV (pre-4K).
