I bought this as part of my cord cutting strategy. Was easy to set up, has the voice control I was looking for, has an ethernet port and is fast! I really like the way it aggregates the content. Allows me to search for a movie and then pick the cheapest option. The 4K support is a nice addition, but don't watch much in 4k. I actually bought two of them. Put one on each TV along with a homemade antenna and cut my Cable TV. I had the triple pay and am Internet only now. Saving about $150/month on the bill now.

For the most part it's been great. The remote didn't last very long, and we really did like the non IR remote. Good thing you can use your phone with it. It was nice when the remote worked, being able to use headphones with it was great.

Easy to setup and use. I have more than one and from time to time they all freeze up and no longer accept remote control input. The only solution is to disconnect power and reconnect it so it can boot up again. These issues are not heat related and are bugs that still need to be addressed as far as I can tell. Fortunately it does not ocur often. There is a great built in remote control finder/alert. The picture and sound quality are superb.

I missed promotion so I had spend $30.00 more on it. But it's been working as expected. Quality pictures although the remote consumes batteries quickly and the earplugs wore out after a few months of use.

I needed a new Roku in my house, as a roommate wanted one. Well, I could not find the Roku 3 anywhere, so I decided, based on reviews online, to get then Roku Ultra. Wow, what a device! The device is fast, with minimal time to load a channel. The unit is 4K capable, so I can upgrade when I decide to buy a new TV. The remote is also faster, and the buttons are laid out in a more logical plan. This is clearly the best of the Roku models (at the time of writing!). Grab one today!

Works great and it is easy to setup. It starts up quicker than expected when initially plugged in (for those who want to keep it unplugged when not in use). There are a variety of free apps which you can watch shows on for free too!. However, if you have a paid streaming service like Hulu or Amazon Prime Video, it makes it even better. Listening through the remote works great too, keeping it quiet for others who may need to concentrate on something else while you watch your show.

Loads quickly. Great picture. Allows you to chose the user on Netflix and Hulu unlike older Roku models. Love the feature on Netflix that shows a trailer of the movie / show when you select the show.

The Roku Ultra is awesome, as I am able to stream shows and cable in the bedroom, as we don't have a cable line in this room.....It can be a little temperamental at times, but overall great product....

The Roku Ultra is a fast and easy to use streaming device. The control is useful due to the voice search capability.

I bought one for the house and then loved its solid quality and interface that I then bought one for my father so that we could share pictures of trips through the Roku on the big scream. Wonderful!

I was looking for a Roku player for my home to replace some older ones that I had. This one offered maximum current video resolutions which look fantastic on my Smart TV. It also can pull in any of the channels that are available as opposed to my older model which was no longer available to pull some of the channels down. One thing this model also offered is the ability to insert a USB memory stick on which you can keep your own videos and pictures to share with the family or friends. I have a 128Gb USB stick and that affords many different kinds of things to be shared at the click of a remote. Oh, the remote also has a jack for audio headphones should you want that. I don't use it.

Reasonable cost with plenty of available channels including the standard menu choices. Very easy to connect and operate. A major help to the home budget as it meaningfully challenges the costs of your local cable company.

The Roku Ultra is the fastest and best running Roku I have owned. I stared back with the 1st gen and have owned every generation after. I like how quick the apps start up and play with no lag.

This is my 4th Roku box. Connectivity is better than my older Roku 3, and this box seems faster. Since I don't have a 4K tv, can't say how well that feature works. But overall picture quality is very good at 1080p. I like the new voice feature, but find the insertion of the search button on the middle of the remote is very inconvenient. I'm always hitting it when I just want to hit ok. Overall the best streaming media box because it connects well and gives access to virtually every service (unlike Apple TV).

I prefer this Roku over the fire stick. It offers movies and shows in 4K if you have that capability. You could never see all of the movies sporting events or shows that are on Roku.

I a Big Tv / Movie Person and I have tried lots of different streamers, This one is Perfect for the family. The free Roku Channels are better than imagined. Simple and easy to use...

I am very happy with my purchase of the Roku Ultra. I was even happier to get it on sale $10 off the regular price! This is my first streaming device so I don't have a reference to compare it to. I read reviews on all Rokus & all other streaming devices before I purchased it. I chose the Roku Ultra over the Roku 4 because I had read some reviews where it was said that the Roku 4 would sometimes overheat, so that info along with the sale price I got with the Roku Ultra, I chose to purchase the Roku Ultra. I considered Apple TV, but the price is more expensive, & I read that Roku has more content available than all other streaming devices. Set up is easy. I was surprised when I first used it how much content there is available, & how much free content is available. The picture & streaming quality is excellent. The remote is easy to use. I only have an HD TV now, which it works well with, but Roku Ultra will stream 4K with a 4K TV whenever I get a 4K TV. The only complaint I would have is that the voice search doesn't recognize what I speak well, & I have to repeat it several times before it recognizes what I am trying to say, & sometimes I get frustrated & just type in my search item. If this is a deal breaker for you, I've read that the new Apple TV voice search with Siri works very well. One other minor note is that the image on the TV froze on the screen a couple of times & wouldn't respond to the remote, but unplugging the Roku & then plugging it back in took care of the problem. I bought the Roku Ultra because when my contract with DirecTv is up, I plan on "cutting the cord" to DirecTv, & save money in the process by streaming thru Roku & using an HD antenna. I am very happy with my purchase.

I had an earlier Roku device and loved the performance of it. When I first installed this device, connected to a Samsung home entertainment center and a Samsung 4K HDR TV the picture would occasionally blackout, leaving the sound on. After doing some digging I found that I needed to run an optic connection from the TV to the entertainment center and set the entertainment center on optic cable. The blackouts stopped and the display type was able to be set to 4K HDR at 30 fps and 4K at 60 fps.

well, to keep it simple... installation was easy, it's works great, an the picture quality is fantastic

After looking at the competitors I decided to go with the Roku when cutting the cable. Have loved the option - and one of the key selling points was having the headphone jack.
