Fantastic Revenge Flick

It’s a fantastic revenge flick, that’s elevated beyond the usual tropes of the genre with excellent acting. Devane and Jones give nuanced performances as men who have lost their souls in another land. At times, the film’s loses points for its pacing and Schrader’s obsession with male ritual, nevertheless “Rolling Thunder” is a crisp, well directed film that use its Southern Texas locals to full use. It really is one of the best of its kind.
The Blu-ray presentation is adequate. It still has the print’s flaws in it and often the detail of the picture is quite good

Highly underrated 70s crime revenge film that no doubt inspired guys like Tarantino. Early Tommy Lee Jones role, 70s grit, must watch!

An fine example of great storytelling coupled with strong performances from great character actors. The film deals frankly with the effects of PTSD on a soldier who has returned from Vietnam to a world that no longer makes any sense.

A great film with plenty of depth thanks to Schrader’s script. The Blu-ray has adequate A/V quality. An older transfer but clearly HD.

This is a good retro movie for fans of "revenge". I just wish it went into more detail and didnt leave as much to the imagination. The end really makes this movie however. The acting is good, the writing is even good. The Blu Ray is somewhat grainy and doesnt feel any better then a dvd.
I would recommend this for fans of this genre, but not for everyone.

William Devane is excellent in this movie. Tommy Lee Jones also plays a very good supporting part as one of Devane's soldiers.
