Overall it is a good dryer. It has enough cycles for the price

bought this for my mother's villa. She is 86 and we wanted something that she could operate herself.

I bought this dryer trying a different brand from Maytag or Whirlpool. Little did I know while waiting on my clothes to dry that not only did it take 1 hour but a total of 3 hours for my clothes to dry. I called Best Buy to bring me another dryer thinking maybe this was a refurbished dryer. The new one arrived and you guested it....the same thing happened....3 hours drying my clothes. So ridiculous......I will now stick to what I know....and yes my electric bill was off the chain....VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER!!!!!

After moving into a house with an 18 year old dryer, we decided it was time to seek out a new one. We're very happy we found this one. We bought this on black friday, so we were able to get an excellent deal. If this happens to go on sale again, you may want to pick it up. Roper is not a widely known brand, but that just means you're not paying extra from the markup of a popular name. Roper is actually owned by Whirpool, so you're still getting a quality product. Thus far, we've loved this unit. It's runs so quietly that sometimes, we'll even forget that it's on. We just bought it, so we can't say much about the lifespan, but here's hoping that it lasts a while. The only downside we've found is that there's no buzzer indicating the cycle is done. Our previous dryer did have one, but it was so loud it would wake up the baby. A lot of dryers now have the option to turn this on or off, but many still don't. So I guess if I had to pick between not knowing when it's done and waking our daughter, I'd pick no buzzer. There's not really much else to say. This doesn't have a lot of fancy switches or digital displays or weird misting options, but I don't need those. I just need my dryer to dry clothes. If you're just looking for a good, solid dryer, this is it.

Due to space constraints in my laundry room, I bought the Roper dryer to match my existing Roper washer. Although an "older" looking machine it works fine for my needs - without the fancy bells and whistles. Various drying options and only take one dry cycle for heavy comforters and towels. Very satisfied and worth the price.

I've had my Roper Washer and Dryer for 22 years. I've replaced the heating element in the dryer a couple of times over the years, but other than that it has been the best money I have ever spent.
