    I'm going to France for vacation in a few months, and didn't want to depend on my friends to translate for me the entire time. I had Italian decades ago in high school, ASL in college, and I know no French. I bought books, audio CDs, and just wasn't "getting it." Enter Rosetta Stone! I read the reviews and ordered the 12 month subscription (my trip is in about 6 months.) I found that Rosetta Stone has more features for those of us who are more visual learners! Flash cards for grown-ups! The feature for repeating phases back is very good, unless you have a lot of background noise. I'd suggest being in a quiet area to do the lessons. I'm learning more that I thought I would, and hope to have enough under my belt to navigate the basic phrases when I go.
