Before I bought this I did some research and saw a 2 Port card. As most people would make this mistake by thinking "might as well get the 4 Port" since the slots connector can support all the bandwidth of 4 USB 3.0 (assuming the devices connected is running at max speed). The problem was my power supply. It had a connector for an extra SATA but a HDD only uses 8-9W. This card if its running at max power is about 40W. My advice for people getting this card is to use it for other devices that have their own power like external desktop HDD or expect problems on using other system drives that draw power from the same line.

I have an older Dell desktop that needed more USB ports and 3.0 version. This did the trick. It was very easy to install, but I needed to purchase a separate 4-pin Molex extender cable. It comes with a short adapter cable, however my computer had nowhere to plug it in for DC power.
