This is a great gem of a challenging sidescroller. It takes aspects of Dark Souls but also has its own unique atmosphere and music. The physical extras are nice and at the price I purchased this for, it was a steal.

I am having so much fun with this game! 2D Dark Souls is the perfect description for Salt & Sanctuary! The difficulty is just right and very rewarding when you defeat one of the bosses. Highly recommend!

Imagine a Dark Souls game but in 2D. Had the same mechanics as Dark Souls but it’s more of a platform type of game. Anything can and will kill you if you’re not careful. Bosses are intimidating and so hard you will be knock back. Fun game and full of mystery!

What can I write that hasn't been said about this game...nothing. This game is tough and it will stomp, stab, punch, kick, cut, and throw you in the gutter if you let it, and you can do the same thing back to it, if your good enough. That's what makes this game so good.

this game is pretty neat. it somehow created a dark souls game into a 2D platformer. definitely very fun. the extra 5th star was for the fact it has splitscreen. i love when games include it.

This game was fun overall, only reason I am giving it four stars is because I found the performance not too great on my switch, but I believe this might be more of an issue regarding my switch than the port itself. Easy buy for gamers who enjoy a challenge

This game is so much fun (and aggravation). If you like the Dark Souls series and you want something fresh, here it is. If you never played Dark Souls, this game still holds up on its own.

Good port. But if like dark souls series then you’ll enjoy this 2d gale inspired by it. This game Plays very similar but its played in 2d instead of 3d. It kills time in a good way. Enjoy!

this is a 2d side scrolling dark souls game. can be punishing by eating you and spitting your carcasses out without a care. but If you love the souls game and especially the challenging learning curve then welcome this game into your collection.

So cool to see such a small studio release a physical version of the excellent game. The case comes loaded with extras as well, money well spent in my book.

This indie game is really a souls-like experience, and, although not perfect, it delivers a nice gampley and pace for fans of the genre, all of this in nice 2D meteoidvania style.

If you like Dark Souls, Metroid, and Castlevania games you’ll love this game. Salt and Sanctuary is a beautiful 2D metroidvania Souls inspired game. Combat controls are crisp and concise, and just like dark souls combat is difficult but rewarding. The game has easily a 40-50+hr campaign/content. That’s about how long it took me to complete all hidden secret and main areas for my first co-op playthrough. Unfortunately Salt and Sanctuary does not offer online multiplayer but does do 2 player couch co-op which is fantastic. Again if you like dark souls, Metroid, or Castlevania style games then you’ll love this.

Great game with pretty much endless replayability. It's a metroidvania and a souls-like wrapped into one, and it does both elements extremely well.

Very creative and very fun. It does get a little difficult but when you finally get pas those difficult parts you do feel truly rewarded. Very good buy.

2-D dark souls is the best way to explain this game. The level of difficulty spikes like crazy after just a little while but never feels too much.

This is a great indie game with some solid soulslike gameplay. It comes with a nice map and booklet which is rare these days.
