This pot is great! Heats from .5l to 1.7l of water to boiling quickly. The blue color is fun and easy to see from across the room, on while heating, if it is quiet in my house I can hear the power button click off too. Faster than multiple brews on my keurig for tea and much more hot.

Bought this for my 72 year old mom and I have to say it's very convenient for her as she does not have to travel outside her room to get boiled water for her tea. It's also easy to use as it does not come with overwhelming settings which is a plus for my mom.

"Clean" inside - I like the glass. Have used electric kettles in the past and don't like rust appearing inside.

Coffee tea in moments. Hot water for parents with babies nothing like it. Quite and will not wake anyone up when done boiling.

Like this kettle. It works pretty good and fairly quick to boil water. Like many kettles it is pretty loud, but not as loud as some of the plastic models. The illumination on the bottom is pretty nice too.

We've had hot water kettles in the past and this looked like one that we'd love to receive.

Picked this up during the after Christmas sales as the price was right. It's beautiful looking and solid built of stainless steel and glass with a blue light illumination when boiling. My only concern was how much plastic would be touching the water when boiling. From other reviews that I've researched the manufacturer has stated the inside bottom and top seal is from food grade silicone that is not supposed to impart any toxicity, but it seems to impart a smell! It took me about 20 full filled pots to the max of boiling water to reduce the smell to where I felt I would want to drink from it. The lid underneath is from BPA free plastic per the mfg. You can boil the water without the cover, but the automatic shutoff will not work as it needs the contained pressure to activate the shut off and it will just keep boiling. Good if you like your water super hot. Overall I give it a good rating and would recommend it to friends. It's hard to find an electric kettle with no plastic or silicone in them. Your other choice would be to get an all glass pot and boil the water in the micro! This kettle is fast and can boil a full 1.5L max of water in about 9 minutes. It says 1.7 but the max fill line is at 1.5L. Oh and the markings are in liters not cups!

I was in a need of a new electric kettle. I had previously used someone else's, and I didn't realize how convenient one was until it was gone. The Salton cordless electric kettle is simple, stylish, and it just works. It comes in two components, the base, which plugs in to the electric, and the cordless electric kettle. Although this particular kettle was one of the most expensive available, I'm glad I chose it. The clear glass and blue LED are very impressive to see as the water boils. The lid is unique with a large button on top to validate you have closed it. The switch has an orange LED which doesn't quite fit the design, but is functional. A previous kettle I had used would turn itself off once removed from the base. This kettle will turn itself off when the water has boiled, which reaches extremely hot temperatures very quickly, but this one does not. Removing the kettle from the base before it has completed it's cycle and placing it back on will start the boil again. This is a great convenience in the kitchen for my morning tea or any cooking that needs hot water quickly!
