It lacks a side pocket which would be useful for storing cables and other miscellaneous items and there are no pen holders like other units I have purchased. It is very basic and has vinyl dots on lower edge which aid in gripping. Very basic if all you want to do is tote a 13 inch laptop. It is a great fit for my iMac Air and Dell 7000 services which are both 13inch units.
