Customers often highlight the spaciousness and smaller size as fitting various kitchen sizes, along with its quiet operation and effective temperature control. Many appreciate the price point and the aesthetically pleasing design, including the French doors and LED lighting. However, a significant number of customers reported issues with the ice maker's noisiness and functionality.

We have had this model for three trouble free years and love it. If you accidently leave one of the doors ajar a chime sounds to alert you. The bottom pull out freezer holds plenty. And it fits nicely in my older small kitchen. We have never had any issues with this at all!

Like most things about this fridge. The 2 exceptions are; does not fit many tall items i.e.; milk, soda, juice etc. Also the freezer gets too cold in winter, had to cut the ice cream with a knife it was so frozen.

I wouldn't buy this Refrigerator again

This refrigerator is about useless for refrigerator items. I used to have a water pitcher for my previous refrigerator....wouldn't fit in this one. There is absolutely nowhere to put anything the size of a 2-liter soda bottle, milk jug or an orange juice bottle anywhere in this refrigerator standing up. other than on one of the two bottom door shelves. And you know who well milk last on a refrigerator door. You pretty much got to lay everything down to fit it in this refrigerator. You would think a huge refrigerator with the french opening doors would have plenty of room to stand up big bottles or jars. NOPE! Not this one. Even ketchup bottles can't stand anywhere in this fridge other than on the bottom door shelf. But because this is the only spot to place anything the size of water pitcher, milk jug, orange juice bottle or carton and any other juice bottle...if you have more than two of any of these, you can forget about it fitting into this refrigerator all at once. Oh, and if you love watermelons in the summer, forget it, they won't fit on any of the shelves either. They give you plenty of shelves for the doors, but unless you have a bunch of baby jars, pudding or applesauce cups the top two shelves on both doors are pretty much useless too.
Because of this being a big fridge, trying to find stuff in the fridge is also difficult because of all the shelves having little space between them, you lose stuff in the back and pretty much have to take everything in front out to get to anything in the back of fridge.
As my summary says, if I had to buy another refrigerator, I definitely would NOT buy this again.
Save your money and buy a useful refrigerator, but this is NOT the one.

Good refrigerator, especially for smaller spaces. The features are simple & easy to use. The french-door styling at an affordable price is great.

This fridge is amazing! My husband and I bought it a few months ago and it has been a dream! The veggies last twice as long if you set up the temperature as it specifies on the instructions and it just works great! The bottom freezer shuts by itself and the handle is baby-cat-dog-proof!

Purchased because it fit the space in a home we were preparing to sell. The french doors are nice; limited space for larger bottles. Would not purchase for my own use.

Unbelievable buzzing sound, Samsung denies it.

I am very tolerant of appliances, but this purchase will be my last samsung product ever. The refrigerator makes a very loud buzzing sound. I called Samsung and they referred me to a support page which simply said the buzzing sound was "normal".
This is complete horse hockey. a) The fridge made no such sound for the first five weeks and then started making it all the time. b) Moreover if I nudge the fridge a bit it stops for a while. Clearly there is a design flaw with some part on or near the main compressor motor which gets loose and cause this sound. My flooring is floor vinyl over a very study subfloor, is solid, and is not either the cause or an amplifying factor because the sound comes directly from the rear lower compartment where the compressors are.
Looking on the web I see scores of complaints about this. Designs always are changing change, and I don't blame Samsung for having this problem, but I CANNOT believe that's rather than coming up with a repair solution (probably some bushing retrofit or some type of faster that doesn't loosen,) they simply say it is normal.
Samsung obviously has a known issue here. Their claim at several support levels that they have no complaints on it, when it is fully in 1/3 of all the reviews (and many reviews not noting it were probably done by people who had the fridge for a week) is just very POOR post purchase support

I have the singular misfortune of owning two of these duds because the issue did not arise with the older one until we had purchased the newer one for our weekend home. The ice maker is implicated in the failure of the whole refrigerator to work properly. Several attempted repairs, including replacement of the icemaker and certain other components, have failed to fix the problem and Samsung has provided ZERO support. On our way to finding a replacement for both refrigerators now; we will never buy a Samsung product of any kind, ever again.

Poor design-lots of flaws-avoid this one

We bought this refrigerator a month ago and it arrived damaged.
The door handles could not be attached. The right hand door's handle was misshappen, and the freezer door's handle slipped off the nub after less than a week of use. So from the getgo, the door handles have been an issue.
Aside from iffy build quality, the shelves are very poorly designed on this refrigerator. The shelving units on the door are too small. There's literally only two "large size" door bins, the rest are tiny. The way the layout of the doors is set up, you can't fit things like bottles on the shelves. The dairy "case" is barely larger than a stick of butter.
The shelves are poorly spaced, and poorly designed. On the vegetable and fruit crispers, the "moisture control" switches are cheaply made and will come off easily.
The deli drawer is narrow, and can only be placed on one shelf....the middle shelf.
Regarding the shelving, this is one of the true weakpoints of this refrigerator. It uses only "full length" shelves. Most refrigerators use "half length" shelves.
Because of shelf layout, and the "full lengh shelves" it is literally impossible to store milk, 2 liter bottles, juice and pretty much all liquid containers on the main shelf! The door shelves are too small and too crowded, so the refrigerator doesn't really fit anything!
My experience getting this refrigerator exchanged was painful, to say the least. I seriously recommend that customers who think about purchasing this refrigerator bring some empty bottles of things like Milk and soda and try to fit them into this refrigerator BEFORE they buy.
Per the delivery guy, this particular unit has a high return rate due to the poorly placed shelves. I would have tolerated that design flaw if the refrigerator had been well built. But it's not. Meaning that you'll spend upwards of $1000 on a refrigerator that is more trouble than its worth.

Ice maker broken on delivery

The refrig iwas delivered on July 16, 2013. The ice collection bin has a solid layer of ice on the bottom with partially formed cubes embedded into the slab of ice. When the water fills the ice maker it is very loaud.
I am afraid this may be a BAD omen for the future reliability of this refrig. They will attempt a repair on July 24, 2013. I am skeptical if the ice maker is repairable.

Purchased this refrigerator (as well as the 2 yr black tie service warranty) about 2 years ago. Within 14 months, the fridge was not working properly. Service came out and repaired the board. Still didn't work properly. Service came out a couple more times and ended up having to replace the condenser. Now that the warranty is over and the fridge is about 2 1/4 yrs old, water and ice are pooling up in the drawers again. Also, the ice maker stopped working about 6 months ago.

Love this refrigerator. About the only thing I miss is an egg tray. A carton of a dozen eggs, does not fit into any door shelf and there is no pre-formed egg tray in the refrigerator.

Noisy, bad-tasting water, ice dispenser jams

We are so disappointed with our Samsung refrigerator. The water tasted horrible within a week or so of purchase, and we found out that the placement of the water filter next to the fruit bin at the bottom of the refrigerator makes it susceptible to the slightest smells. One week it tastes like cantalope, another week like something else. This never happened with our former refrigerator's sealed filters.
Then there is the bad icemaker. Since purchasing this 6 months ago, I would say it has jammed at least once a month, making you take out the tray, shake it around and try to get it to work.
Also, this refrigerator shoots out the ice so forcefully that there are always wasted cubes and slivers bouncing out of the glass on to our wood floors. Since ice tends to be transparent, small puddles form under the refrigerator, stove across the room and under counters, warping the floors.
Additionally, the water dispenser is the slowest we've ever seen. Your guests will be waiting at least a full minute or two each while you wait on this refrigerator to eek out a glass of water.
If it hadn't been for several trips to visit my dying mother and then her funeral, we would have had time to return this bad refrigerator.
We regret, we regret, we really regret having purchased this refrigerator. Check out something else.

I have had this refrigerator for a little over two years. We have had to fix the ice maker twice because it keeps making ice, even when the ice bin is full, then it malfunctions. We figured this out, now we just shut it off every night. A few months ago we noticed that the veggie crisper has water in it. Now it is so bad that I cannot use the crisper. After research, I realized that it is a known issue. Samsung admitted to me that it is a known problem, but since my warranty is out, I would have to pay to have it fixed. How's that for great service. I am chalking it up to don't ever buy a Samsung!

I am still getting used to the french doors. But really like the refrigerator, except for the storage in the doors not being adjustable and shelving not as adjustable as I would like . Large jars and bottles do not fit.

Poor shelf adjustment options

Shortly after delivery, I realized that there are 2 full-width shelves, but only 3 slots to put them in leaving me with no way to store more than 2 pitcher-like containers the heighth of a milk carton, juice bottle, pitcher for lemonade or iced tea, wine bottle(10.5"), etc., except to store on their sides. The only shelf arrangement that would work would be to put the 2 adjustable shelves in the 2 lower slots, which left me with the two shelves so close together that one was completely unusable (less than 2: high) and the other ony 4". I talked with Samsung Service assuming I must be missing something, but they agreed that I had tried everything and there is no way to store 10" containers without creating useless 2" and 4" high shelves. Thanks to Best Buy's return policy, this one has been returned in favor of an LG with fully adjustable split shelves.

This thing has some clever and nice improvements, like the temp controls digital on front of fridge, the icemaker seems to work well, and I love freezer on the bottom. BUT you can't readjust the shelves in any meaningful fashion and a gallon of milk does not fit anywhere but the bottom rung of each door. This is fine if you are a family that all drinks the same milk, but one member of our family needs ricemilk and we are SOL.
Not to mention that one of those spots will end up being for the Britta pitcher since you don't have in door water. Bottom line. If I had more space or owned the property and could make more space, I would have sent this machine back.

I love this refrigerator. It's counter-depth yet spacious on the inside. The bottom drawer freezer is easy and functional. The exterior surface looks like stainless but is better because it shows no fingerprints or smudges or watermarks. I couldn't be happier with my Samsung refrigerator.
