Will not work with my 55in smart tv

However, I looked and looked to find one that would connect with my television because it's a few years old, but it is a good smart magnavox television. After I bought this for my husband birthday, he was so excited and it will not connect to my TV. I went back to Best Buy and waited on a guy to help me for 25 minutes and spent $20 more dollars on a cable and to Walmart and spent $30 more. My husband threw the boxes away when he opened it, so now we cant take it back. We will ha e yo but another TV for it to work. I looked really good and read the descriptions and looked on my TV to make sure it would work. And neither cable works.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung HW-R450 Soundbar. I am very sorry to see you could not get this connected to your Magnavox TV.
Please know that the HW-R450 has Optical , Aux (analog), and Bluetooth connections. Did your TV perhaps not have Optical or Analog outputs?
