Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't know what model of tv i have, it's a 60 inch samsung smart tv pretty sure I bought it in 2013 Have a mid sized bedroom I located the tv in, the speakers by themselves have always been rather lacking but this soundbar definitely does the job and then some, when I was at best buy I was looking to spend no more than 200 Think it was a Polk and an LG I was listening to in the same range and the samsung in my opinion beat them both out at the store and was slightly cheaper, figured I may as well match my tv brand anyway if it sounds better than others, Sub does it's job, really didn't expect much out of it but it does make the room rumble a little, not overwhelming but really just about right, it matches the bar well. I dig it.

I have an issue, however, where every few random minutes the sound stops working for a second and then returns. I have it connected through the optical audio so I’m not sure if that is the issue. It’s pretty annoying. Also every time I turn it off with the remote it turns back on after a few seconds. After the second attempt it finally shuts off. Some annoyances but the overall sound quality is pretty good.

Amazing full sound

I am so glad I did. I have a Samsung TV and the sound is so much louder and clearer using the bar. The bass is great! This sound system is definitely perfect for watching the World Series!

Just NOT a great Soundbar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not a recommendation for the followingreasons: 1.Have to continuosly ride the volume as sound levels are very inconsistent, even with Smart settings and other settings. 2. Dialog gets lost and again jack up the volume 3. The sound bar just turns off occassionally when switching components on tv like switching from Tivo to FireTV. Have to explain to my wife why sound us not working. 4. The subwoofer does provide low bass 5. No bluetooth capability on this

Not worth price

But any other type of music the sound quality is terrible. But I did get open box one that said it was in excellent condition. But the speaker rattle when volume up..

Thank you for sharing your review of the Samsung HW-R450. I am sorry to see that you are not completely happy with performance.
You can try optimizing audio performance for your specific content by pressing the SOUND MODE button on your soundbar remote, and then selecting the desired sound effect by choosing STANDARD, SURROUND SOUND, GAME, or SMART.
You can also press the Sound Control button on the remote (looks like a gear) to adjust TREBLE and BASS.
Press and hold the Sound Control button for about 5 seconds to adjust the sound for each of seven frequency bands.
Using the WOOFER button on the remote, you can adjust the volume of the subwoofer between -6 to +6 by toggling the button up or down. To set the subwoofer volume level to 0, press the button down.
Also, please check that the soundbar is correctly positioned with the SAMSUNG logo facing up towards the ceiling. We have found that many customers are misplacing the soundbar with the SAMSUNG logo perpendicular to the floor (facing you when seated), with the unit resting on the speakers, resulting in muffled sound.

Quit working in 5 months

No help with customer support so I guess I’ll be doing away with all my Samsung tv’s, etc. Educations cost money and I just got an education! Just wish I didn’t waste $150 on a piece of junk!!!
