A very solid soundbar that can fill a room and probably one of the best subwoofers for the price. Years later, everything about mine works great. Would recommend.

    Don't, just don't

Okay, I admit that the sound of this soundbar is clear and crisp. I would expect nothing less from Samsung. But, the design and installation of the bar itself are just awful. I purchased a new soundbar, having never been opened. Yet, somehow, key parts were missing and neither Best Buy nor Samsung will assume responsibility. If I could give this a zero, I would. And to add insult to injury, once I return this product, I am pretty sure they will just sell it as an open box, and some unlucky soul will purchase it, thinking that they have a good deal, only to wind up frustrated and angry. 1) The wall mount parts were too small. The screws were too short, so I had to go to Home Depot to buy some new ones, and once I put the mount on with the new screws, the mounts were too narrow. So, after calling Best Buy, they directed me to Samsung, and Samsung said that this product is not even in the system. 87 minutes lost with zero resolution. 2) The package did not come with a power cord for the subwoofer. Luckily, I had my own from a previous subwoofer, but when I spoke with Samsung to get the proper cord so that I could make sure that it is receiving the proper power, they could not even do that, and neither could Best buy. 3) I basically missed a Black Friday Sale, because since I most likely will have to return this one, it is not like I can find another product that would have the same price.

    Awesome soundbar and sub

I attached this on the wall under my Samsung TV with ease and it sounds great. I use it to listen to music throughout the house and the sub really puts off the bass I want when watching sport or movies. It allows you to select from news, sports, cinema, game, Bluetooth etc to really tailor to sound quality to what you are using it for. Very simple to use and set up and worth the money!!

This is my second Samsung soundbar

I now own two Samsung sound bars, my other being the 450 model which features a slightly larger sub woofer and a little more power. Other then that I think these are identical. The sound is great and the ease of use is outstanding. The only reason this isn't 5 star is that I couldn't get this one to play nice with my Toshiba TV. I couldn't get it to work with the ARC HDMI. Kept giving me "S Mute" code when I tried to hook up this way. My other sound bar had no issues at all with my Sony TV so maybe it is the fault of the TV and not the sound bar, not sure. I was, however, able to hook this up with the included optical cable and it seems to have a sensor that turns it on automatically when it senses a signal. So it still turns on with just my tv remote which is what I really wanted. I then went through the settings and changed the remote to "all remotes" which allows me to change the volume with my tv remote as well. This sound bar was almost a home run with just a couple issues.

Full bodied speakers in a compact case

First off, if you are still using your built in TV speakers, buy this now. Yes you can get way better systems but you're going to spend $300+, but if you just want hugely improved speakers for your TV you can't go wrong with this buy. First off, using them is super simple. Just plug in the power, plug in the audio cable (using the optical cable if your TV supports it), and go. No need to deal with complex home theater systems. And the sub is bluetooth so you can place it next to your couch without a problem. And if you want surround sound, samsung sells a rear speaker unit which will pair wirelessly. The sound is great for the package. No surprise the sub has plenty of power, but overall the sound is very balanced. The bass is not blown out of proportion like on cheaper systems and the treble is pretty clear and balanced. Sound does get muddy as you approach max volume, but this system gets incredibly loud so this is something you will rarely encounter. For the MSRP, I'd give audio quality a 4/5 based on price. If you get it on sale, it easily gets a 5/5. Overall, these speakers are an incredible addition to any TV if you don't want to go with the full home theater sound system route. Highly recommended for their simple plug and play setup and great, full sound quality!

    Mounting System Is Garbage

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I generally don't post a review unless there is something seriously wrong with the product. First the sound bar is good, it's a Samsung, the subwoofer connected without issue, etc.. all the TECHNICAL features of the soundbar are great; however the MOUNTING SYSTEM IS GARBAGE. My buddy and I tried to mount this to a TV Wall Mount kit using a sound bar kit (these kits allow you to mount a sound bar to a TV Mounting Kit and they are amazing with nearly every other sound bar). But we had to make modifications to the included mounting system Samsung provides because it's a stupid design.

    No Bass - returning it

I'm so tired of nearly almost everything I buy these days being a piece of garbage. Add this to the list. I hooked it all up. Sounded horrible. I've had cheap boom boxes that sounded much better. Barely better than the TV's built in speakers. There was hardly any bass sound or vibration coming out of the sub woofer. Looking at other 1 star reviews I saw this is a common problem with Samsung soundbars, not just this model. I reset the wireless connection between the sub woofer and bar. Other online reviews said that helped. It didn't work for me. I have an LG soundbar on a different TV that's in the same price range as this. So much better. Heading to Best Buy today to exchange. If you get one that works maybe it'll sound OK. But the sound that was coming out of the soundbar didn't sound all that great. I don't think a working sub woofer would turn this into a good unit. Disappointed because I have Samsung TV's and phones and pretty much considered Samsung a high quality brand. This thing is a corporate embarrassment for them.

    Good product for the money

I bought this for my +55 parents and added it to their 46” Samsung TV. Immediately my parents could hear the difference between the TV speakers and this sound bar. After switching between a few settings we finally found a “sound” they were comfortable with. Overall, this is a nice set up for what I purchased it for. It’s not overpowering and for an audiophile. It’s days better than the TV speaker which is all they wanted. The subwoofer is hidden behind a recliner and is not intrusive to the overall sound. I’d even recommend this for small to medium sized living rooms for me! Good buy.

Terrible product. Received the item yesterday. Hooked it up today. I was surprised what a piece of junk it turned out to be. Volume is terrible. Delivery box is even worse. Makes a great paper weight though. Returning to my local Best Buy tomorrow.

    Subwoofer doesn't work

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this to connect with my new Samsung QLED TV that arrived today in the mail. I hooked everything up, and the sound bar sounds pretty good on its own. The subwoofer on the other hand doesn't produce any sound that I can hear. Nothing. The little green light on top says it's paired wirelessly with the sound bar, but I hear absolutely nothing coming from it when my sound is on through the sound bar. I can feel some vibration when my hand is on the subwoofer, but that's about it. EXTREMELY disappointed... I purchased an extended protection warranty, but I'm honestly thinking of just returning the whole thing and getting something else. Still trying to decide what to do. Hoping it can just be fixed so I don't have to take a chance with something else that also may not work, but who knows...

Loud but picks up a lot of noise

Increases volume but the Samsung TV has better quality on its internal speakers. This speaker bar gets a lot of line noise(the type that sounds like air blowing through a window being ajar). All through the movies I watch it sounds bad. I have dolby atmos and all that good stuff using all newer devices. Everything sounded clear and amazing until I bought this low accuracy device. I guess I will fiddle with it some more. No app. Device is not very smart. I bought a 2.1 computer speaker set up in 2013 for like 40$ with about the same amount of user friendliness. Being that this bar is samsung I figured it would be better. Those computer speakers sound better than this thing.

Best Buy’s website is wrong. Says; Pairs with Wireless Rear Speaker Kit SWA-8500S (optional, sold separately) It does not. Unless there is a way I gotta return. I’m sure the speakers are great, but Best Buy website is wrong. Any fix?

Decent entry but after 6 months, had to send it in for a bad hdmi board. Received it and it sounds terrible. I've bought many Samsung TV's and phones and this is the first product that actually is bad. Not happy that I have to send it back on the day I just got it after 3 weeks of service. Don't get me started on customer service. You basically are crap out of luck without the extended warranty. After 6 months? That dog don't hunt. You can do better Best Buy.
